Setlist for The Revolution Shows

Hi all, what is your optimal setlist for the forthcoming tour?

I'm hoping for songs Prince didnt play much in his last 15 yrs.

Like 17 Days, Computer Blue, Condition of the Heart and New Position.

Wendy said in the new interview that the band is going to try to focus more on playing group-related songs.

Yeah I would like for the band to perform 17 Days, Girls and Boys, America, DMSR, they are some of the group songs I can think of.

There are tons of songs they can play from 1983 to 1986/87ish.

Mountains, for sure.

I Wonder U (which Wendy sang, anyway)

For The Tears In Your Eyes (it'd probably kill me, but still)

I'd love it if they'd do a few unreleased things:

Wonderful Ass (it'd never happen, but it'd be fun)

Neon Telephone (W&L could do a good job with the vocals on this)

A Place In Heaven

They could also do some associated stuff like:

Manic Monday

Baby You're a Trip

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm going into the Houston show with no expectations. I am also going to do my best not to see what any setlists were prior to that show.

I want to be surprised. I do not want to know what's coming.

It's more fun that way.

I tweeted this at Brown Mark actually but if they did the 12 inch version of Mountains I would be in heaven.

I'm going to the San Antonio show - can't wait, but don't mind setlist spoilers, either.

I am pondering should I go to one of the shows. THey are playing the same city where my sister lives.

I've made some suggestions to some of the Revolution and they said some "deep cuts" are coming and they are going to get daring with the setlist as time goes on.

Cool. I know the band likes to be challenge and expertiment musically so it will be hard to believe they will play the same setlist each night they perform. smile

I'm going to three of the shows on this tour so I really hope they do different setlists each night, but having already seen them at First Avenue last year, I kind of know what to expect.

I will say though that having André Cymone and Dez Dickerson play with The Revolution on the pre-Purple Rain songs made the show particularly magical. All eyes were on Dez during the "Little Red Corvette" guitar solo, naturally. They will be missed.
