John mayer drops out Official Tribute

Does anyone know why John Mayer dropped out? And Christina Aguilera is sick?

Wait, for real?!? Where did you hear this? I cannot stand John Mayer's troll ass, so this would come as most excellent news. I mean, I get that he is a fantastic guitar player and loves Prince, but so do a lot of people who are way less douchey and bland.

Now, if they could just ADD Lenny Kravitz!!! Speaking of whom, does anyone know where Lenny is?

Thanks, trax! The people they've added will bring way more value to this concert than Mayer would have. And yeah, I second Lenny Kravitz. He should have been on the bill instead of Mayer.

That's assuming he was available and willing to do it. The way it's shaking out now is pretty much band members/associates plus Stevie, Chaka and Anita Baker. And NPG members have been practicing all week so I think they'll put on a great show.

Lenny is presently not touring, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's available. I always thought that he and Prince were extremely close. You'd think wild horses couldn't keep him away from the official Prince Tribute. But, one just never knows...

Yeah not happy about this at all. My tickets were expensive to see them contribute to the tour. They are major established acts. Now, we have older artists, that haven't had a hit in years. This is crazy.

Do enjoy seeing the twins performing and Mayte will join them.

Then PP goes and changes the tickets again. Outrageous.

I think the tour line-up is fine. It should be a historic event.

Yeah who knows. The more I'm seeing social media posts from NPG members the more I'm ok with this concert being mostly former band members and people he really respected like Chaka and Stevie. I get the feeling these band members are working hard to put on something special. Their participation isn't half assed. They've been practicing this whole week. I think it will end up being a really great show.

If this lineup would have been announced from the jump I probably would have gone. Its too late now. I dont care for the non prince artists enough to go see them but I would love to see his artists. I wish they would do it right with

Sheila E, The Time, Mazarati, The Family, MAdhouse, Andre Cymone, The Revolution, NPG, Liv, Judith, Elissa Fiorello, Jill Jones, Taja Seville, Apolonia 6, Dez, Tevin, Carmen, Dale and any others that would perform. It really should be a big family thing!! Maybe for the Celebration or something next summer they could do something like this. I dont mind adding LEnny either even though he is not an associate but he is close.

The current lineup should have been announced from the start to entice more fans to come. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the headliners they got but they are going after the causal Prince fans with them and I am sure there are more people like me that would prefer the real Prince artists instead. Hopefully someone will put something like this together

A lot of them are going to be there. Pity Sheila and the Revolution won't be there. This is billed as the official tribute so I doubt we will see another one, at least not one that pulls all these people together.

Yup. Sheila and The Revolution should definitely be there, even if they had to cancel bookings. History will not be kind to them for this.

I think members of the Revolution will be there, just not the whole band. Susannah will also be in town, so I wouldn't rule out The Family/FDeluxe.

I have a feeling it's more than scheduling which is sad. This should be about Prince not other people's egos. That's why I love people like Shelby, Liv and Elisa. No egos, no drama, no bitchiness, no throwing shade etc.
