I have a pending 'IT Support ticket' open with Ticketek to investigate why my credit card is blocked, up to 72 hrs to get a resolution.

Lucky Sydney Opera House website has a proper payment gateway and I got a ticket there instead which ended up being better than the ones Ticketek proposed to me anyway.

Sounds like an algorithm waiting to be coded and sold to ticketing companies*

Yes there was ticketing issues and people including myself were unsuccessful in obtaining prince tickets yesterday.

Was mega sad....convinced my couzin that we should still go even if it costs $800 for the two of us.

Scrambled over my funds...transfered some money cash advance from credit card to savings as well as some other funds..then did a netbank transfer to my cousin

And today Cuzin got 2x tickets to the 10:00pm concert on 16th.

While yes I will be eating breadcrumbs for a few months ....I am mega excited as this will be the 5th time seeing the great man.

08.45 AM Be at the Fox Bar in Auckland's Viaduct to watch Arsenal v Barcelona.

10.30 AM A nice brunch somewhere with fellow fans (Arsenal or Prince - Don't care)

12.00 PM collect tickets and wrist bands.

12.15 PM A sunny spot by the water for a few cheeky beers. (not too many or the dam will burst)

2.00 PM Go home and watch Prince videos with a couple of mates also going to the shows.

4.00 PM, Shower, shit and a shave

4.15 PM Uber.

4.35 PM Realise I'm in town way too early and have nothing to do but drink which I don't want.

4.36 PM JB HI-FI (troll music counter by asking release date for my own non existent album)

6.00 PM Early arrival for show one.

8.00 PM Off to Depot for some of Auckland's finest grub.

10.00 PM A more relaxed arrival time for show two.

12.00-8.00 AM Lie awake in bed. I can't sleep. I'm now on a downer that will last days.

*Itinerary conginent on aquiring tickets.

Plan Two.

Watch game at home.

Spend the res tof the day in bed in tears playing "A case of U" on repeat.

It's a novelty for us. Ok, seen him a dozen times elsewhere but on home soil is very exciting. No flight or hotel costs for a change so 2 X $400 tickets seems like a bargain compared to what I usually have to fork out.

Unfortunately with the ways the ticket prices were manipulated I am assuming that the promoter made a huge chunk of the profit for very little risk.

Prince would be getting around 800K to a million or more per show flat fee regardless of sales I would think.

I agree. I used 200K as an example. I would think for these shows he'd be asking 500K per show plus expenses. The rest of the money goes to promoter etc.

Approximately half the rows in Melbourne have an odd number of seats. That might explain some of it; a bit.

I cannot believe that tickets for the Opera House are still available now!

Yesterday there were only VIP packages left, so I had to buy one. Good seat though, but a total rip off. Now I can get one one row further back for 400. Grrr.

So now everything is booked. Flight from LAX arriving in the morning of the show (I hope I won't be so jetlagged that I fall asleep in the hotel room and wake up after the show) and a hotel nearby.

An expensive weekend, but I'm excited

i was seriously contemplating auckland for one day just to see prince in a different country other than australia,but getting tickets to only two shows was such a pain i wont think about it now. im hardcore i suppose but i just couldnt afford it. if money was not an issue i would be going to auckland

I still haven't decided on what to do about accommodation in Sydney. It is so expensive in the immediate area.

Hotel prices in Sydney are crazy during that time because of Mardi Gras. It would be nice to stay in the same hotel as Prince

I'll be happy to be in the same city as Prince. And wondering if he'll go shopping in the afternoon, like Michael Jackson did - and I'd been in the same bookstore - small, up the stairs in a warehouse-type building and along the corridor - I'd been in that same bookstore he went to only the day before.

If Prince wants a tour guide for an afternoon of sightseeing in Melbourne I'll be available.
