She works for area radio station The Current, so look for her full recap on The Current's website soon...

Just got back from Paisley and it was an superb performance! Here's what I remember:

Stare - felt like about 15 minute version with lots of guitar improv by Prince. He started out on piano before calling up Josh to take over and switching to guitar. When Josh took over, Prince was waving his hand in front of his nose, like, that smells! he made the "funky face" quite a bit during this song.

Guitar

Use Me (Bill Withers cover)

Stratus (Billy Cobham cover)

Ain't About 2 Stop

unidentified instrumental loop song - Prince was talking to Donna a lot, saying things like "same chords" and "play rhythm" and "do your part". he walked over to her once and showed her something. he was also trying to get Madonna to sing something, and she was mouthing, "what?" from the front of the stage.

1,000 Xs and Os

X's Face

break

Free Urself - largely insrtumental with Prince on Electric Piano and parts morphing into what sounded like Outta Space (Billy Preston cover). Prince invited the twenty or so people left to get up onstage and dance.

another break

Sign O the Times - Prince started out playing rhythm guitar and sang over the sampled beat. He told Donna to play tamborine and she did. Later the song morphed into what sounded like a new song to me, but apprently is a cover of the Isley Brothers. Prince had us sing the wordless chorus and parts of the song went "I got work to do" and "I got a job." Then he strapped on the electric guitar and did some nice distorted lead parts, incorporating the lead line from America.

I am spent! A great set, Prince was relaxed and very cool.

Kirky J back in the band?

Hannah was there, dancing during the dance party but did not play.

Who is MonoNeon? he played killer bass, left handed - played a right hand instrment upside down.

Thank you Prince!

Maybe a new band member...maybe not. Maybe he was just jamin with mono neon for the night. It now makes more sense as to why he put up that clip of mono neon thunking along to 'Time' on @Prince3eg

Gotta catch a new Prince show just for Stare. Stare and hardrocklover both sound tailor made for extended jamming at live shows

I've seen this all over the Internet and social media, and yet there are less than twenty comments here. At least two threads about it in the music and more forum have been shut. Is it time to accept that there is no point in having other forums anymore, as nobody reads them, and merge all Prince related news into the main forum?
And by the way, don't get me started on the Michael Jackson crap - how could the stuff about prince pissing him off by playing bass on his face be moved to the one and only Michael Jackson thread, where presumably people are discussing his ever changing face and child rumours as well as his music -I've never been to that thread I don't have a clue- is just ridiculous.

Completely agree. The stupidest thing ever. Close this section up and aybe it will stir better discussion on the main Prince forum, I mean what better discussion topic for the main Prince section than his live music and concerts.
