The Show That Wasn't

Been awhile since I've posted here but I do read posts time to time. There were a couple threadz bout the "rumored" show last weekend and the people who travelled from the UK thinking there was gonna be a show -- thought I'd share my experience and ask others about their experience.

I travelled a bit to get to the show but with the understanding it might not happen. So, while I was a bit dissapointed, I chalked the whole thing off to a chance to get away from the hubby and kidz for a few days, LOL!

For us who don't live in minneapolis scheduling travel at the hint of a show is sometimes necessary to get better rates for cars, planes, trains, hotels and basic expenses, so for the person who said it was foolish to book something before it was confirmed should rethink their comment and understand that point. The pre-weekend hype and the "another show" comment and the posts concerning "this weekend" was a little misleading and read as following the last show - reasonable! We all know Prince does shows on the spur of the moment sometimes.

All that being said, it was a really nice weekend in Minneapolis, there was deffinately other stuff to do, so I and my friend did it.

When I stopped by Paisley Park I briefly met a beautiful woman and gave her a little something I hope it made its way to Prince. As someone else posted, Life is what you make of it!

So thanks to the woman whose name I didn't get and when things don't always go as planned learn to make it work for you!

In all fairness, I did not come from as far away as the UK not even close, so I do feel for those women, but who knows maybe they're making a vacation of it and really don't care either! Sometimes you just gotta get away.

thumbs up!

I think if the woman was very tall and thin , mixed race with big curly afro hair, very beautiful, then I've seen her at the pp parties, I would guess she is his latest assistant. And I dunno her name either razz

I''m sorry nothing happened this time around but I still hope you did enjoy your time in our Twin Cities... Hopefully there will be a next time that will give you the opportunity to make it to PP 4 good...!

Current Prince News

LiveNation tweeted last night that the next stop on Prince’s Hit and Run tour will be Washington DC. The only trend we’ve seen so far is that these concerts have been landing on the weekend. That’s always nice.

Warner Theater is a small capacity venue compared to the arena’s he could easily sell out. Warner holds 1800 according to Doc which is fairly intimate. We are also SO psyched to hear that Judith Hill will be a part of this leg which is super exciting. Scroll down to hear her last album which was devastatingly incredible.

Meanwhile, on June 6, they ripped up Paisley Park with an amazing funk jam that you probably missed. But we also saw that Prince tweeted the following on June 3;

I went to PP at 11PM the time the that 'flyer' supposedly said 11PM and I saw no cars or people.

I went going, knowing it might not happen. Prince has played many times, on short notice or no notice, But I wonder what time the jam came down at Paisley Park, mentioned in the article above, maybe earlier in the evening or just before midnight. It's no fun missing a Prince jam and he deserves the right to choose when and where he wants to play. I've seen the pretty Lady at PP and I thought she was there with Prince. But I wondered too if maybe Judith Hill is really Prince's newest Lady, after the post of her called 'Queen" on Prince3EG twitter account. It's been taken down but I wish Prince and all in the Band every happiness and a great tour!!

I have no doubt 3rdEyeGirl and Judith Hill will put on an excellent show in DC. Noting this is a planned show and those who go will be glad they did.

No one knows what the circumstances were last weekend and with the DC show announced, the "rumors" originally thought to be another PP event could have been related to DC. That's why I suggested its always good to have a few options when considering an unconfirmed performance.
