So I've heard Prince is not a fan of phones and cameras at his shows I am assuming?

If not I would have offered to use "periscope" and stream the show Live from the Pit... too bad

Ok I can handle a show in the Pit without my phone up in there air, although I love sharing live music.

My other friend is going to both shows and he will be recording from fairly close 100% and he will not get caught, his equipment is very good and he knows how to go Stealth !!

they were all over people in Baltimore.........just a heads up............they will shine a bright flashlight on you while blinding everyone else around you until you put your stuff away...........it was also great to see the entire floor full of people who were not holding up phones.........meanwhile it looks like there are still Pit seats available so I wonder if some lucky fans will get bumped from the upper sections into the Pit

Honestly. We dont respect the rules.. Its because the security was ruthless. I have nvr been at a show where they literally jumped u if they saw ur phone or camera. Very disappointed with the venue and nonsense. I paid out the nose 4 my seats. Let me have a damn pic. Anyhow PRINCE was genius. As usual

Someone is streaming audio of the 2nd show right now, although the sound isn't great - on periscope for the diehards that want to listen in and are ok with a broken rule.

It was a great show, better for me than the tour a few years ago. I didn't know the 1st half of the show, longer jams, lots of guitar, classic rock, blues... and for me that was the best, the musicianship, the way he worked the stage and "directed" his band respectfully.., the energy, the stage and instruments itself, the screen all set up so perfectly.... I was 4 feet or so from the centre mic where Prince was... the 2nd portion was enjoyable as well, I am not a huge fan of singalongs or medleys but I'll take what I can get... having our hometown girl do the guitar solo for Purple Rain is much different than the show I saw in 1984 in Buffalo (Purple Rain Tour)

I noticed speaker stacks in the audience on main floor as if he was running quadrophonic sound or something..? Being so close I only noticed them being used a couple times... any background on that ?

Sorry I cannot layout a setlist or give extreme details as a part timer but as a serious concert goer I knew it was a show not to miss and it was better than I expected.

hmmm... I ALMOST made the trip from the States to this show but after that setlist I am glad I didn't. So he gave us 10 actual songs and then a bunch of bullshit until Purple Rain which is song 11. I love this band but really hate these shows if that makes any sense. This band can really turn the place out and yet Prince just plays pre-recorded samples for most of the show. i just will never understand that

You weren't there - you can't judge. The sampler set is much more than it used to be, with the band playing along on most tracks, but regardless, it was a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday night.

yeah I saw it a few weeks ago in Detroit. I was not impressed. I really doubt it was much different. I am glad you liked it though. Its just not for me. This is the same show as Detroit just shorter. To me these are some of his worst shows. I don't mean to offend anyone, just stating my personal opinion

You're not alone in your opinion. For a man who has touted "real music by real musicians" for years & obviously has the chops, this is lazy. For a man who has a more than ample catalog of songs, from the hits to the obscure, these standard setlists & the use of cover songs are inexplicable & frustrating. As a longtime fan, I'd like to see him cement his legacy, not coast on it.

That was the entire second show? Looks to me quite different than the first. I don't know PLEL well enough to ID all of the songs in the first hour of the 8pm show, but it was all new stuff. Then Guitar, a down-tempo rock groove Let's Go Crazy, and onto an hour or so of hits/sampler.

It wouldn't be so bad if the band members wouldnt say that they have had to rehearse up to 200 songs! Perhaps they ment they have rehearsed 200 times!

First setlist seems a little more interesting with: Wow/The Unexpected (Liv vox), Funknroll, Rock and Roll Love Affair, Pretzelbodylogic, Dreamer, Something in the Water (Does Not Compute), and The Love We Make.

Love Me Tender is an interesting choice on both setlists.

funny thing is no one cares what uyou think..the fact that it takes soooo long to even get setlists tells you that although folks on here think they are the only fans they are not,,pleace insufferale at present
