3fm dj mentions guest appearance at NSJ

...it's just that I heard 3fm DJ Giel Beelen mentioning Prince guest appearing at North Sea Jazz, in Rotterdam, not Curacao, which starts tonight and ends Sunday.

Maybe it's true, I'm watching channel N3 for NPS' registration (see NPS.nl for online), that's for sure!

Fact 1: Pharrell Williams (playing tonight, see http://www.northseajazz.com/nl/ ), has a long lasting wish to ever play with Prrince.
Fact 2: Nile Rodgers has the experience now, maybe they will team up again.
Fact 3: Sheila E plays together with Candy Dulfer, but what is a drummer without a funky bass player?
Fact 4: Liv is there with the NPG horns... What's missing in this picture?
Fact 5: no foggy weather, so all incoming flights are welcome at Rotterdam Airport.

Fact 6: Mavis They Call Me Melody Cool Staples is there.
Fact 7: Stevie Wonder is there, could he perhaps use some keyboard licks?
Fact 8: this is a good plan, there's Bootsy Collins, what if they could form one funky all star band or something?
Fact 9: Dutch soccer team is not in the world finals, so all attention to the music!

You can follow North Sea Jazz via Radio6,

or NTR (not NPS, you silly!) via NTR,

last but not least NPO Cultura, where reports will be given.

Sorry for the inconvenience, most sites are in Dutch.

Except for the UK version of North Sea Jazz Festival.

...now 3fm dj Claudia de Breij mentioned the same pos-si-bi-li-ty in her lunch show Claudia d'r op. I quote, translated: "...somewhere at Nile Rodgers' show, it might be possible, it is likely that there is a change that he could appear shortly..."

the excitement, the thrill that goes through an audience that even gives you shivers when you watch such a broadcast on TV, pure amazement, real surprise and until then Will he be there, that uncertainty yes one could call that fuss. It's indeed sold out and I'm glad it is - commercially, for the organization - which means things are going well in Rotterdam. It's disappointing that it gets that crowded that it's hard to walk around. And true, if it is already sold out, it might be frustrating if would go but can't... I'm happy for all festival goers and wish them a nice day or weekend. And for those who will eventually witness such a surprise: enjoy and cherish

Last time he surprised the audiance of Larry Graham, I wasn't there. And it was the birthday of a Prince fan buddy of mine. He surely was sour that he wasn't going to NSJ.

This year we planned to go, but unfortunately, there were some financial setbacks, so we'r not going.

So, please, let this not happen again. I got no ticket and just came to peace with that!! sad

On the other hand, we talked about the chances that Prince would be there again on his birthday, and again, without us, that seems a bit unlikely, right? And if he would be there, he might play one or two songs with another artist and leave. I mean, it's not like he will do 2011 again, right?

Right.

What to do? I don't dare to buy a ticket via marktplaats, last time I got ripped off for 300,- euros.

So, I will never, ever take that risk again.

I just bought a Sunday ticket this morning through Ticketmaster.nl, the official selling point. Yesterday I tried too, but it said sold out. So if you want to go, just keep trying!

Should I buy a ticket or not?

And if so, for what concert?

Just decided that I'm not going.

Next year. If I can afford it.
