Good to know that foreign fans will come to Vienna 4 the purple party ! Actually I think we even need you to fill Wiener Stadthalle, because the Austrian fanbase is not so big to fill this arena by such short notice - BUT we can be VERY enthusiastic !! I can't remember being in a 13000 people-crowd making more noise than the audience of the 2010 gig in Vienna !!!

---and I went to Prince-concerts in London, Paris, Milan, Montreux, Frankfurt, Munich, Budapest and Minneapolis headbang

Just as I also said a minute ago ... unfortunately the Austrian fanbase is not as strong as in other countries, which is the reason why there are still lots of tickets left - compared to Amsterdam and Antwerp where they were gone within a very short time.

So I also hope that lots of foreign fans will come and help us celebrate Prince on Saturday!! We need to make a lot of noise that day!!! We need to let Prince feel how much we cherish him ... whether he celebrates his birthday or not - I do believe that the show will be special for him, too! - And if it is the last one of this tour, even more so.

And I agree - 2010 we were a fantastic crowd that really screamed!!! This is what we need on Saturday as well. smile

In case someone else is in my situation: Since my tickets didn't arrive today either, I just called allevent.com and they were very helpful. They had apparently tried to contact me (I don't know why I never got the call) to tell me that they had not sent the tickets since there were so few days left before the concert. We arranged it so that I can pick up the tickets at the venue before the concert starts.

On a related note, is there some sort of a parking place at or near Stadthalle? I'm planning to drive to Austria on the day, and possibly drive back after the concert.

Also: there haven't been any aftershows on this tour, right? I can safely drive back and not find out the next morning that Prince just threw a 6 hour aftershow? Right? Right? smile

Edit: Never mind about the parking, I just found the relevant information on Stadthalle's website. smile

On May 30th, there were 3 aftershows for 400 people in a venue with a capaciity of 800. Look it up, Botanique, Brussels.

Let me make you jealous, just a little bit smile

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCSFpzcc8KM&feature=share

Prince loves Belgium, I saw him in Werchter, he was in Gent twice, Antwerp (saw them all between 2009-2011), I saw him again in Antwerp this year, and in Brussels, very exclusive)

I also saw him in Rotterdam, at the Jazz festival (best version of Joy in Repetition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_DH-3K09hc), In Luxemburg (disappointing audience) and in Arnhem (crowd went wild)

I skipped London (3rd & 4th of June, instead of Berlin. Tickets were sold out in 4 (four) minutes.

In Belgium, Prince concerts sell out in Approx. 35 minutes.

Life is short, get your priorities straight

I'm sure he does! But he also loves to play music for people how appreciate his art !!

Looking forward to tomorrow night dancing jig

Hope Prince and 3rdeyegirl will be in a playful mood and that the sound will be ok at my seat near the stage (still have to work tomorrow,so no time to queue for a good spot in the GC )

And I'd wish for The Love We Make, What's My Name and some surprises....

Cheers

I almost had the same reaction as you had: 800x100=80.000, but 3x400x100= 12.000

Good thinking!

But: the atmosphere is so different when you are in a small audience, and right in front of the piano, YES, I had a front frow place... Guess i'm just a very lucky girl wink

Stay Funky, dude.

Judging from the near-unanimous posts of everyone that has seen Prince on this tour, and pretty much ANY tour, he loves performing. He just gets paid for doing what he loves.

It was pretty special: She's Always In My Hair, a rockin' version of Bambi as the penultimate encore and a beautiful Empty Room were my personal highlights. EDIT: almost forgot Sometimes It Snows In April!! <3

Very energetic crowd too, given the heat. Such a great night. Thank you Wien.

How was the aftershow? Six hours long? razz

But quite a concert last night! The band really rocks and there was a great vibe both on the stage and from the audience. Amazing performers, all of them. Including the poor guy whose only job seems to be to rush on and off the stage tending to Prince's guitar.

I also really enjoyed the strictly enforced no mobile phones policy. Makes the experience so much nicer when you don't have to stare at a number of lit up screens that people are holding up to record stuff.

But how was the sound quality for you guys? I was standing about 5-10 meters from the stage, pretty much in the middle, and the hardest rocking songs kind of turned into a muddle of guitars and Prince vocals, at times hard to decipher. Which was a pity. The leaner arrangements sounded better from where I stood.

Also: so hot! I didn't realise that Stadthalle doubles as a Turkish sauna! biggrin I also had no cash on me to buy water as I had assumed that they would accept cards, which I was surprised to learn they didn't. Stupid of me to of course assume anything. So, I had to exit the concert area to find an ATM. The only one that they have in the area is in the tickets office, and it turns out that it only accepts Mastercard, not Visa. I didn't realise that they make automats like that any more! I, of course, had left my Mastercards in my other pants, and had to queue back to the concert again still without the ability to buy any water. Goddamit Vienna, it's the 21st century, paying for stuff shouldn't be this complicated! lol

WOW! Great show.... can you imagine 15,000 people singing happy birthday? Was wicked. My 15th P show, took a virgin along... just blown away. We were right at the front, truely an amazing show, Prince we clearly in the mood for fun last night and seems he just didn't want it to end. The last time I've personally seen this passion was in 2003 in Melbourne.

In my opinion, the girls seem a little off the pace, except Hannah... just my opinion. But really realy amazing night.
