Good solid show.

He burned the biggies a bit early for the casuals.

Highlights:

Full band version of Snows in April

Excellent Extended version of Sign o the times

Best rendition of nothing compares i've heard in years
Best rendition I've heard of Purple Rain in years. All the verses, 10 min+.

He was feeling this one a lot more than Thurs.

Awesome night !! Thank you Prince & 3EG !
Singing during NC2U was fantastic !!!

Prince shadowboxing during What's My Name - v funny !

Donna "losing it " after a great solo by her (stage edge by p's keys) which got a great crowd reaction - she just shouted / screamed - could hear her (without a mic) and she was grinning as she did it - great moment of sheer joy for her !

Beautiful night !!

My friend at LG hooked me up with free VIP tickets. Complimentary meal, free drinks all night and a lavish private box with a perfect stage view, sofa's and it's own bar!

This show blew last Thursday out of the water. Highlights for me were a few things he didn't do last Thursday, including The Love We Make, Sometimes It Snows In April, A Love Bizarre, and a PHENOMENAL version of Nothing Compares 2 U.

SOTT full biggrin

Was there plent of drum bashing on it like in the SOTt cncert video?

Better than the sampler set, which is getting a tad dull

Yeah the current rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U is amazing. Played it on Saturday in Manchester and his vocal was incredible.

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

There were more oh ee ohs than a Wizard of Oz convention. It started at the sample and simply grew.

I think that is the best version I have ever heard of Nothing Compares, the other times I have seen him play it live was always duets, which I liked but this tonight was incredible.

What a great show, so much energy from the beginning to the end! A few less surprises than Thursday, a bit less 3eg stuff, but a really great set.
I was standing about 6 rows back and from a view of the stage point of view it was one of the best concerts I've seen, maybe some of the indigo shows were closer. His energy, smiles and expressions really add a huge amount to the show- on Thursday I was seated and missed all of that.
Someone asked what went wrong - there was loads. He broke a string on his guitar in the middle of a song and had to swap guitars. The Mic stand was too tall for him to astray with, I think Laura mveula had adjusted it up and no one had moved it back. He glared at the stage hand and did a guitar solo to allow it to be fixed. When he went into dreamer there was no sound from his guitar for a few bars - he walked over to his stage hand but the sound came back on so he carried on. When the crowd were on stage for play that funky music Prince thought they'd still be on for funk n roll, he turned around to dance with them but security had ushered them off stage - he made a gesture and danced on. One past thing, his afro seems to give him a lot of issues with sweating - he was constantly using towels, wiping his brow and face. He chucked 2 towels into the crowd. One last thing, he was wearing a white tunic with a grey cardigan and a gold necklace thing - by the end the sweat from his stomach had caused the dye from the gold necklace to stain the tunic a shitty brown!

Despite all of this, he looked like he was having a great time, he only left the stage once, he just slammed song after song out.what's my name was epic, his actions were insane, shadow boxing, twitchy dancing, at the end he knocked the Mic off like he was scared of it, pulled a crazy face and walked off. I'd love to see that again on video. Also he acted like his hand was a possessed claw on one song as it kept slamming down on a funky chord on the keyboard - he acted like he couldn't stop his hand each time - it was priceless.

A few other thoughts - the girl who sang on tmwu etc looked soo young, like 14 - luckily Prince stayed away from her, I kind of felt it would have been majorly creepy if he'd put his arm around her or something like he used to with the twins. Laura was great and she danced on stage during hot thing which was cool. He sang cool as well. Ida smiled the entire show. I was surprised he broke curfew, I thought purple rain was it, but the crowd really went crazy for 10 minutes before he came back. I was thinking whatelse can he do, he's played all his hits, and then he played another 5 or so songs!

Nothing compares 2 u - the first verse and chorus were done like the original family - just vocals and synth. Sounded amazing. Then back to full band for the rest.
Prince did a mic stand mime session during one song, I think LRC - was funny.
During what's my name he did verses from sacrifice of victor - mentioned that this Prince was born different from the others and did a little 'disturbed' face.
He kept stealing ida's bass, played a lot. She had to resort to hitting a cowbell for something to do!
When pretzel body logic started it seemed like the band weren't sure whether they were supposed to play it or whether Prince had just cued it on his sampler - only Ida played the main riff on bass until Donna kicked in The second time.
The crowd were great, no pushing or surges - it was better than koko or Shepard Bush in that sense.
No sound issues tonight either.

Just back from Brum, not that I saw much of it...Got to the arena around 3pm, got number 57 and enjoyed some good company waiting for the doors to open. Our group were 2nd from the barrier just left of the mike. Having been at the EB and SBE in February, I was not sure what to expect tonight with it being a large venue, but there was no need have to any reservations, I was blown away.

Seeing Prince work his magic up close is incredible, even if that beautiful dancer he had on stage was a bit of a distraction. (her name is Marissa jack)

Thanks minorG, you have summed that up better than I ever would have...overall a fantastic night.

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

microphone was way too high and he shot the tech a look and waved him on to sort it. the tech also rushed on to fix something else and P stopped him with the flick of a hand like telling a dog to sit lol, cooling tabs didn't work by the mic, microphones weren't turned on at keyboards and guitars weren't switched on a number of times ....Prince also broke a string . Still an ace ace show

I'm a bit worried about the set list. I'm going to see him in Antwerp next week and the show is starting to look like the old setlists again from 2010.

I wanted to see him again for the cool guitar stuff (endorphinmachine, i like it there, chaos and disorder).

Setlist doesn't change much? Still rougher versions of former years with the 1st show creating the buzz by dropping one vault track. The man seems to have his formulas down to work a tour and get those tix selling.

Hoped that Electric Intercourse or Moonbeam Levels would be more included but these songs seem to be more 1 person songs instead of bandefforts which make it prone to be skipped by his mood that night.

Fingers crossed for Ziggo that he won't fall back on hits and basic set.

Energy seems to be good.

Well that was superb. Really really good. Most fun i've had at a Prince gig. Made front row and stood to the left where Prince played some great guitar solos. He looked like we was having a blast tonight when he wasn't shooting evils at the guitar guy. Donna seems to have really improved her playing since february. She really was quite brilliant tonight, especially on Guitar and Kiss. I love that woman. It took a while for the encore and i swear he came out, asked for his guitar and the dude was like, err, i ain't got it. So he just sang ,stole Idas bass and danced his ass off till there was one.

Forever in my life and SISIA were highlights for me. Enjoyed Corvette and Kiss versions immensly. When he walked back on at 10:55 i knew i was missing the last train back to London. but you don't leave do you?!

Yes I noticed that too....and they forgot to put his mic on so he had to stand awkwardly at the keyboard mic slapping the bass.

Relax....she's well into her 20s and, being in the front by the barrier, she was 'charming' - jigging away and singing in the sofa like a real fan an even interacting with us. Apart from her shoes (lol) she was great.

It was the lyrics from Sacrifice of Victor mixed in with Whats my Name. Strange final song/mix, but a memorable one all the same
