Just sorted my ticket. Very civilised this time round. Much cheaper that the std price, and decided to to pick one of the most plum seats. Means I don't need to skip work to early either. Happy days.

I'm in the 5th row on the corner of Block 16/15. Perfect position. Its silly that these are avaiable at nearly half the price in the secondary market, when we had to feast on scraps at the initial sale.

I'm not going Monday (went yesterday & going to Leeds) but I almost always go alone (my husband really doesn't like Prince & needs to babysit). However, I can honestly say that going alone has meant that I've met some of the nicest, most enthusiastic, like-minded people ever and whether its talking to a first-timer or someone who has been going to see him for 30 years it's great to hear the stories. If you don't get anyone on here to meet you then just talk to those around you in the queue....you'll be amazed at their friendliness.

Let me be the first to state the pesemistic obvious....a support act most likely means a shorter Prince show unless they start earlier which I doubt.

Let's hope I'm not about to witness anotger smash and grab show like a KOKO

Of course, that';s always a possibility.

She might also end up sitting on the sofa like Marissa Jack has been doing - and as she did in Sweden back in 2011 when their paths crossed previously:

I'm going to say the obvious...but I didn't buy a ticket to see Laura Mvula. Unfortunately, knowing Prince, this will replace a good chunk of the set and we'll get 90 minutes(?)of standard tracks (LGC, she's slways in my hair, funknroll...I hope I'm wrong but I bet I'm not

would you still complain if mvula is on stage from around 7pm to 7:45 then they turn around the stage and prince comes on at 8:30-8:45?

Im in a similar position - going up on my own. Just bought a seated ticket to see Prince in block 5. I was hoping to find cheaper seats but couldn't find any.

No not at all - if it was a bonus then if course not, it would be ace. But I went to see him in Feb at a insultingly short show (compared to the others) and I've truly broken the bank to go again in the hope of a decent show. It would be just my luck if the decent sets we've been reading about are cut again

But there's no way she's going to be on stage 30 minutes after doors open....pretty much guarantee, unless she comes on at 8 and Prince joins her at 8:30/8:45 with no stage turnaround necessary, we're losing 45 minutes-1hr of the set like KOKO and, if we do, I can't see me going to another Prince show for a very long time....it's not funny to charge so much and provide such discrepancies. It's probSbly not so much if an issue for those who can afford multiple gigs but I can't.

We'll see but as she's being billed as co-headline I'm not hopeful

I thought the same when I read the news and I too hope we are proven wrong. We are spending a lot of €€€ to travel over for this concert and it would be very disappointing if we got a much shorter show than the last 3. Damn, and the reviews were so good, I am so excited, but now a little concerned!!! Ah well...

She's being billed as co- headliner which doesn't bode well. I was unlucky enough to pick the only gig in February that lasted 80 minutes from on stage to being ushered out by security whereas every other gig was 2.5 to 3 hrs.

I don't see his this CANT be a reduced Prince set...they can't start early otherwise it would be chaos and, if it's going to be the same length show, Laura Mvula needs to be on, finished and Princes stage ready all within 30-45 minutes...no way

ah yeah fair enough, well hopefully it's a good long show with a similar start time to the previous few so we get a good mix of tracks. i am hoping to hear the max, the breakdown and the whole of the moon, plus hot thing and 1999 again smile

Sorry to break it to you but the other shows he's been on around 8:30/8:45 for the ...not going to happen tomorrow. I'd say 9:15/9:30 best and, if lucky, 90 mins to curfew. Horribke feeling yet again it's going to be a zoom through the bare bones set that every other gig gets without the extras - if that is the case it may be the final straw for me; guest apoearance is fine but co-headline/splitting the bill....not good

they're probably just saying co-headline as a figure of speech. being gracious because she is from birmingham. but even in a homecoming show she is not big enough to co-headline with prince at an arena - she is the support act.

we will see tomorrow but i don't think the show will be cut as short as you are suggesting.

Like you say, we'll see but I don't see how it can not be cut that short unless she is performing on his stage and he joins her.

The earliest start for anyone is 8pm, suppose she starts at 8pm on the dot, does 30 minutes. It'll be another 30 at least seeting up the stage and that leaves 2 hrs to curfew...and that's if it all run like clockwork and prompt. I already know he's happy to cut a 3 hr set down to 60 minutes and chsrge the same...so it's not inconceivable.

I always used to think it must be so boring going to someone like Katy Perry with the same setlist everynight...but at least you know what your going to get and that it's the same value for money. Since Feb this whole thing has left be feeling quite different towards Prince because, from my experience it's just been a cash grab. Those at the decent shows in Feb won't get it but that KOKO gig was just one big rush to get through the bare minimum. Tomorrow will be
1:45 absolute max. Mark my words

Mind you, at least it's not just me...a fair few people seem to have done the maths on Twitter and came to the same conclusion; if Prince has been doing 2.5 hr shows, we can kiss goodbye to a good hour of that.

I agree with ppenguin, not thrilled about a support act. I also went to the koko gig and was a bit disappointed with the length, but I had been to shepard's bush the week before for a tenner so I wasn't too bummed. Likewise I went to birmingham onn the 15th and paid 45 via seatwave so if this concert is shorter I would hsve at least had that.

but this announcement has dampened my enthusiasm for tomorrow. Especially as I got thhe sense that he was conscious of the curfew and didnt take any breaks on the 15th, so why make it even harder to play everything you want by introducing a support? Maybe she does just a few songs at the keyboard and then pisses off so there isn't the need for a full set rebuild.

Just bought standing for 19th - will be flying in from Dublin. Is the floor capacity big? what time would you need to head down to the venue to queue for a good view / close to stage?

Not sure, venue car park doesn't open until 4pm according to venue and with most people working I'd say not crazily early. I queued for 11hrs back in feb....forget that again. I'll prob go about 4pm

Park at Birmingham international train station. £6max and is open all day and night. Just a short walk of 3mins to LG NEC.
