At this point this probably isn't the correct forum for these posts. They aren't Prince concerts. They aren't even Associated Artists.

Off to the Fan Gathering Forum with you.

I like this band! If you all are going to these events to check out the music (and not just for the ambiance and/or hopes of seeing Prince perform), you should look them up first (youtube), so you won't be disappointed. At least, you'll have some idea what to expect..anyway, hope PPAD conntinues until.....

Isn't that the band that didn't get to play at PP party on march 29th because P decided to play instead?

I hate to say it but it would be nice if history repeated itself lol ;p

I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope not. I will be out of town this weekend and not able to attend. I would like to think he will have one more party on 5/9...and let it be a rehearsal for him and the band prior to leaving for the UK! smile.

Why wouldn't they continue when he's overseas? He's attended exactly 2 since they started...

At least it would be clear Prince is not to appear.

I don't know... I think there are 20-30 that will show up no matter what. If the doors are open, they'll be there.

Do you think he has done events/parties/whatever when he's not in town? I've just always had the feeling that things don't go on at Paisley (publicly speaking) if P is not in town...almost go so far as to say that if there is something going on, he always shows up, even if it's just for 10 minutes to peek in (even if we don't see him)? I dunno.

In the past I always saw him make some kind of appearance, even if it was walking through the back here and there.

This round of stuff happening feels very different and the nights I have been there that he hasn't performed no one (that I know of) has seen him so much as peek through a window or door. You don't even see the girls mingling around - the only time they've come out is to invite folks to the movies.

I don't think he's involved much at all. They can easily continue the nights without him being there and they are not being advertised as Prince shows, they haven't from the beginning, even though the only reason anyone goes out is a hope he'll play.

i love that these live shows from local bands are happening at paisley park for those who want the experience of seeing what it's like out there. i get that people really want to see prince play every week, but i think chances of that happening are slim to none; these are just supposed to be dance parties. some of the bands that have played so far have been really good.

Well they did cancel one when Prince was out of town in Coachella so I assumed they wouldn't do any while he's in the UK but Yeah they could continue them...

I did notice PPAD FB mentionned something about a new Format and was asking if peeps want these to continue, we shall see what happens... I honestly might not go if they have them while Prince is in the UK, I've attended a few and would rather save $$ for when he's back in town because eventhough he hasn't attended many I'd rather know there's a slight chance he will play...

Well, that is a surprise! Looks like we're in the right forum after all. I just booked my flights and my reservation at the Chanhassen Inn. Who else is coming now? biggrin

Doc has only posted about the parties twice on his site and each time, Prince has performed.

Although it only says Prince and 3EG will be attendance playing new music after the booked band plays, here is hoping the good doc is 3 for 3!

Hey guys, I'm thinking about going to this tonight. My question is is there parking nearby and how much is it?

Another question: where do I go to take the shuttle if I choose to do that?

Just touched down at the MPLS airport. Anyone want to meet up in Chanhassen before the show?

There is parking on site. I think it is $10 or $20--not sure. Don't know about the shuttle. I'm planning to take a taxi from the Chanhassen Inn unless there are plans for a meetup beforehand.

Well, it's over. MPLS was great, but Prince did not perform. The girls from 3rdEyeGirl were in the house, and several people said that they saw Bobby Z. in the audience also. The crew set up the 3EG drum kit after the MPLS set, and most people in the crowd just stared at it for hours assuming Prince was about to come out. The DJ was good and some of us did dance.

On the plus side, I got to try the pancakes this time, plus I snagged one of those purple boxes with the incense and candles and stuff. So I am going to declare victory and go home. lol

Just got in from PPAD, got to meet and shake hands with 3rdeyegirl, they are cool. Was sitting behind the dj and guess who I saw peeking out side door Prince, we wave at him then he left out the door. He had us all siked out because after mlps sound played the set the stage like he would be playing. Still had a good time biggrin
