I am not going to waste $30.00 for what I experienced last week and surely not my step-son who is slightly delayed. His hard earned money down the drain. I am so proud of him that he has worked so hard to pay for his entry into Paisley, but never did see Prince. UGH!!! mad

Oh yeah are they charging $10.00 to park again, I think it was a scam, so that the parking attendant can pocket the money, I found out later that, later on they stop charging to park cause the attendant went in to party or work. UGH!!!! trolls

Somehow this makes the front page while the official release of a major single into the radio market never makes it?

Just like the Park ya never know what you'll find on the org!

Can't waste an entire Saturday night without having a performance guaranteed.

Not interested in helping him Find Nemo either, unless it means he'll be playing DOLPHIN.

If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

Lenka will be spinning at 9pm on Friday, so I may make Friday night (let's hope they give her more than the 20 minutes she got last weekend).

Still, $30 is steep for me for just a dance party.

i'll go! imo $30 is a great value for an event at PP. i hope they bring back UniverSOUL. i love sneak peeks and previews of the ongoing projects and works in progress and i really think this band has a shot. it's okay with me if prince doesn't 'appear' (although it's cool when he pops out and plays whatever he working on and walks around). but even if he doesn't i can still enjoy the atmosphere and vibe at Paisley Park. i guess my reaction isn't typical, but i actually thought it was hilarious how well the finding nemo film worked with the music giggle this is some fun stuff

i also get that. but, it's a five hour event, with food, beverages, entertainment and a crew of hard working people who work overtime to make everything go smoothly. last week they were incredibly well organized and really friendly.

You have the opportunity to purchase food and beverages, so that's not included in the cost.

I get that it costs money to run these things, so I understand SOME kinda charge.

Still - I rarely paid a cover to get into nightclubs in my going-out-all-the-time days and if I did I knew exactly what I was going to get. I'm not a fan of the DJ (FundRaiser?) they've had playing the last few times I've been out to the park so that aspect is of no entertainment value to me.

It's the not knowing what to expect part that makes Paisley Park so frustrating. They have a spotty track record at best. It's so sad that the attitude has to be "expect it to be super lame and to stand in long, unnecessary lines so you're not disappointed if that's the case and maybe, just maybe, you'll be pleasantly surprised".

Awww... I love that you have so much fun at these things and are able to keep a positive attitude about the less-than-perfect stuff.

And I always keep in mind that for folks who have never been or rarely get to go it IS exciting just to be hanging out at Prince's place.

But for me that's not enough these days. I've been there. Now I need a reason to go.

Some group called MPLS is playing Saturday night, but I haven't heard about Friday night. I know the days of the liquor cash bar and free catered food from the Loon Cafe are long gone, but damn at least get some pop! The 1st DJ that spinned last Saturday was ok with song selection (except for Macarena), but he kept cutting the music off and giving his "shout outs", which was annyoing as hell. Lenka is awesome, as in she plays a lot of Prince, but like CarrieMpls said, she only got about 20 minutes to spin. As far as the $30 cover charge goes, I think it's kind of BS considering Prince was just doing shows in London for $15.

If I lived in Minneapolis, I might go. But Genesia does not drive 4-1/2 hours and spring for a hotel room without a Prince guarantee. lol

Is there an age restriction for this? I'd like to take my 14 year old daughter cause she's never been to PP.

I wish

I Love the "milky way" running through Paisley with the Stargate at the front door and the sun moon and stars...how amazing is the invitation, truly.

2014 = 7 "Oh, 7 and we watch them fall!"

Sorry...

I have to get ready to go out of the country next week but I sure hope this continues throughout the next 7 moon equinoxes, so I can go and visit the park, as I am ready to experience a nice evening away from the system of things I do every day, seemingly for a purpose of others.

And finding NEMO, way cool!

I thank you even tho I can't attend this...have great fun!
