lol lol it's a bit like those January sales back in the 80s (when they still meant something) and people pitched tents to be first in line to buy a £3000 fur coat for £50.

Whose up for pitching a tent outside Ronnie Scotts? biggrin

'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I could have Monday afternoon off and queue from about 13:15. But if there are 6,000 people there already I think I may have to be there for 12:59 otherwise it may be pointless. I really don't want to queue! lol

RIP sad

I could do this on Monday. . . . .. . . . . . . ..

.

if I can hold of my boss to take the day off work

if the trains are running

if I can find a cheap hotel

or yeah ....

and if I can get into the gig !

.

Ronnie Scotts will probably be the hardest gig to get into now with notice.

I reckon there will be thousands around the block looking to go to this one

I was right, I knew he'd play here on Monday. It was east to check out as there's no late showing from other artists so it had to be prince.

Just checked, it's changed now. :/

Just rang Ronnie's at 1pm. Voicemail says both slots fully booked and they have no information on rumoured Prince gig.

Maybe they're playing at some bloke called Ronnie's flat?

Indeed, early and late shows on Monday at Ronnie's.

I went to Ronnie's last Thursday on the strength of rumours and they said same thing then, so I am deeply sceptical. It's a great venue, but very small, maybe 250 capacity? I have to work at least am Monday, and then 2 hour drive plus tube, so if ppl start queing Mon am realistically I ain't getting in. Suggested to Kiran they raffle some tickets for those of us so far unable to get in. As far as I can see the same ppl are getting into every show.

There are a number of ways to offer tickets, like you said by raffle or the first 250 people who RT something on Twitter or something like that.

This queing and hope for the best is poor for a majority of fans.

I bet there are some fans who have seen 3 shows if you live in London and have no life outside of Prince

This fully booked shit is throwing me off.

I'm looking to start the que from about 6am.....you think that is a good time?

But then again, if this fully booked stuff doesn't get debunked, i may call it off and just keep waiting for my perfect gig.

I am sure if you start queuing at 6am you will be one of the 250 that will make it

If you have time to queue 14 hours before the gig you deserve to have a 1 on 1 show with Prince !!!

LOL. I take it you are going to stay down and attempt both. So are you going to queue all day outside Ronnies?

lol but then there are people willing to camp out. Its my only chance for awhile so i wanna make sure....your comment kinda gave me hope.

Now...if only this fully booked stuff can be rectified, i will be ready to give it my all!

Wow. Should be incredible experience if it goes ahead. Been to a couple of shows there - amazing venue. Went to see Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis there during the 2007 shows and Maceo showed up too. They were sitting at a tiny table just across the aisle from us during the support act. Look forward to the reports from anyone lucky enough to get in. cool

So we have the possibility of people queueing up for a show that's not happening owing to the venue being already booked for both shows. Could be a daytime show though.

Ronnie's is sold out for the first show on Monday night that has already been planned. So, I would guess they could be playing after this first show, but in the week if you have bought tickets for the first show you can stay all night. So noone is going to leave if they know prince is on so they won't let anyone else in.

Plus with Ronnies membership scheme any space would be given to their members anyway.

So, I wouldn't waste your time queueing for such a tiny venue. It's a shame because it would be awesome. KOKO is best bet.

why would they announce such a gig if it is true what you are saying?...When Prince is planning rules change....simple as that..

I'd love to see Prince at Ronnie Scotts, but it is 250 capacity.

The situation with queue jumping is going to be pretty horrific if some organisation is not put into place. Even just a few people joining others already in the line will have a very negative impact.

This sort of behaviour seemed reduced at Shepherd's Bush, but that of course, is a much larger venue.

I reckon either daytime gig or not happening at all - he didn't exactly do himself any favours at Ronnie's with the antics on the night of the EB gigs. Am reluctant to risk leaving work early and three hour drive given the tiny capacity, great though it would be!
