Official UK tour DVD/Blu-Ray possibility?

I wonder if he's documented this UK tour in some way. Anyone spotted any pro cameras on this venture?

It's been awhile since his last official DVD. Just a decade! lol

He records everything mate, doubt it though. U would have thought an 02 dvd would have been out in time for that years Christmas, sadly prince doesn't follow logic pretzelbodied or other wise.

His photography guy has filmed songs on a semi pro camera (Chaos video was filmed on it), but I never saw a proper pro filming in London.

Sure, it's recorded in some way.

But a release? Not a proper one if it ever happens.

I know what he says and what he does is different but it would be nice if he actually released some soundboards of these shows like he said he might do in the initial press conference smile

I'd love the Plectrum Electrum album to have a deluxe edition, with a DVD of UK 2014 highlights, or just a whole concert. That way it wouldn't need to be pro-shot and prefer live DVDFs not to have too many camera changes anyway.

You can dream al you want.

Until he really realises that the demand currently still (!) filled by them bootleggars can be easily monetized on - that won't happen - he'll not release anything complete/unedited/interesting/etc.

Please do not assume camera implies VHS/DVD/BluRay release.

Them bootleggars will be quicker and completer.

It appears he would sooner release clips on dvd with quotes in which people call him godlike or his stuff masterpiece. They become a larger part of the last releases (without giving props who said it)

Hi all I was at Manchester Academy and I noted the person with the camera presumably videoing on behalf of Prince. I hate to say this but whatever footage this person got would not stand up for commercial release. For one the lighting wasn't set up as 'TV lights'. Prince was often performing in darkness and that wouldn't make a good DVD. Of course us fans would be ok with it, but it'd look pretty rotten compared to other concert DVDs. Also a one camera shot DVD isn't really what people expect nowadays.

Maybe some of the other recent UK venues had better lighting and more than one camera.

It's a pity as the Academy show(s) really deserve documenting and preserving so people can relive them.

But that is the thing - Prince could easily release some of this concert footage (for this and other shows) and label it something like "official bootleg" and make it clear it is not a high quality multi-camera release. Price it accordingly and hardcore fans would snap it up (we did with Live at the Aladdin and that was crap!

Will never happen of course!

'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Exactly! Prince films everything. Hell, he even used to have McGoo film at private parties and people were only dancing. I would love to get my hands on a lot of stuff, assuming it's all in storage at Paisley Park.

The bootleggars will.

How was the fixation on smartphones in teh venue?

Were people asked not to film? Forced to surrender their gear?

Maybe we can piece together a full show just from the phone recordings...

Not what I heard from the first show.

But I can check again this weekend.

Also the second show is there.

Yes, the numbers are here again. Do not think they mean anything as all is just coincidence.

Don't be. It's nothing special.

It's about technology that went public on July 2, 2001.

But not really in this case.

BTW: after seeing the LGC video from Manchester's second show:

I do like the vidoe, The vibe grabs me.

But: the sound is great, the video is a good effort but could be better here and there; i.e.: good for archives, maybe not so for a release.

(see the problem to keep his head in the picture, see some out of focus (can be excused in some cases))
