Before I get into it, I have to say...This place has been fucking miserable...lol

Like for real...U got weirdos still ragging on Prince's afro on some mean girl's high school shit...And the New Girl thread was doing waaaaay too much..Then u got the same ol same ol yammering about how Prince is doing the same songs at his concerts (of course this comes with seeing Prince 100 times....)...But the great thing about being a part of the Org even if you don't even F with it heavy like that is you can step out into the real world and see how people really react to Prince without all the baggage...

Anyway, on with the show......Only three new songs was played at a party in New York...Yep 3rd Eye Girl were there...And Prince was there...Dude looked happy...He was actually in the DJ acting a fool and having fun....

So ya'll already heard "Pretzel Body Logic"...My thoughts...It's OK...The chorus is a bit grating...But that too cool for school guitar riff saves the song....But one thing REALLY stood out for me while at the event...THIS COULD BE PRINCE'S BEST "SOUNDING" ALBUM if he stays with this mix...Sonically, the mix , the mastering, the analog recording...Shit is REALLY warm....This album seems like it will be killer on a pair of big ass headphones....

"Funk N Roll"

Okay...So this is one of the new songs...And let me be the first to say THIS should have been the first single...How to describe it? The percussion sounds like a dusty break-beat...Like someone was diggin in the crates for one of those swinging ass beats that instantly make u head nod....The guitars crunchy and infectious...This is a VERY hooky song....And what really stands out is Prince seems re-energized....Those girls seem to be making dude love music again....That's the only way I can put it together...

"Let's Roll" (????)

The other new song "Let's Roll" (don't know if that's the actual song title...but that's the chorus)....Who said this would be a totally rock album? This song sounds like Prince has been listening to the radio...Very sparse...A lot of 808...Upbeat TRAP with Prince funk....A lot of BASS...P does his Camille thing here....U will either like this song or hate it...lol...And the breakdown is so over the top....BUT....before u press stop stick around for the rest of the song...Because Prince pulls a sucker punch...The shit suddenly morphs into some Outkast meets Janelle Monae meets Little Dragon meets Controversy era shit...Synths and 100 beats per minute....he pulls out the guitar with some weird synth effects on it and goes nuts...This is weird Prince, but for the masses....

That's it...That's all I got...Prince seems happy...And I'm ready for bed...

I know, i just thought it was FunkNRoll because if you listen to last year's recordings when supposedly FunkNRoll was played, the chorus was "Let's funk, let's roll"...

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to hearing what's on this album. Your note about the "sound" of the album is interesting to me. Love it or hate it, The Rainbow Children is also one of his best "sounding" albums, so I know exactly what you mean.

Ok so here's my little prediction of some of the tracks that may be on the album.

FixUrLifeUp, PretzelBodyLogic, PlectrumElectrum (instrumental), FunkNRoll, 2Y2D, and hopefully The Breakdown. I did recall that the DR. mentioned that 3eg were doing their parts 4 the song a while back.

This is weird Prince, but for the masses....

And, well, given that the whole album hasn't even been released yet or played for the press or masses, I don't know about Hannah singing on the entire album....The girls were singing background on some of the songs I heard...But so was Prince....lol
