I am expecting the 1st concert to be on the 3rd.

He did it with the koko club concert back in 07 when he was here to announce the 02 residency.

I remember missing a meeting at work hammering ticketmaster to get a ticket for that night!

Some articles say it is kicking off then others say it is the press conference. Just desperate not to miss any announcement whatsoever. absolutely must have tickets and have to therefore stalk the net.

So basicaly its not a full tour, and just doign small venues.

Thats a little dissapointing, especially if they are going to be next month when Im skint sad

Small venues means very limited ticket allocation to, so I guess us everyday folk won't get much of a sniff anyway. Surely he could squeeze a couple of O2 nights in there for old times sake?...

We should be given priority tickets as I for one have spent lots of money travelling to see him in concerts all over Europe . So prince make sure we get some tickets please.

Does anyone think he might play anywhere else after London in the UK?

I hope he plays somewhere near Manchester because Manchester is better than London. (ok maybe I'm just saying that because I'm from Manchester but London is WAY overated).

Besides, we're freindlier up here haha

BTW:
Did I miss anything?

Or did they fail to mention a date for the album?

All the hoopla is about the hits and run tour and that part does not provide a lot of clarity either.

So who put that announcement together?

A (freshly recruited young) person trained in writing texts that say nothing?

...is anyone else not that psyched for this "tour", or is it just me?

I think we may have been spoilt in 2007 with Prince's O2 stint...cheap tickets, big arena thats easy to get to, 21 nights so plenty of chance of getting tickets, aftershows at the same venue, easy for arranging meet ups with fellow Prince fans...I don't think I realised how good we had it then, looking at what's happening this time around...

Haha last time I saw him in Manchester was 2002 (his last gigs here) on the ONA tour, was a cool gig in small venue, I thought that would be the sort of venue he would continue to play in the future as his record sales were declining, I also saw him on the Nude tour in 1990 & D&P in 1992 at Maine Road, not good venues for Prince gigs. He also played G-mex in 1997, they were good gigs.

Can't see him venuturing out of London unless he does a full European tour due to the costs/logistics. Problem with London at short notice is the costs of travel/hotels, if you have a few weeks notice you can get cheap train tickets for like £30-£40 return and be in London in 2 hours, if its a few days notice your talking £100's and getting time off work at short notice will be a nightmare, he doesn't seem to consider fans much when arranging these gigs.

Yeah, exactly. I mean I went to London recently for 15 quid because we ordered the tickets in November.

Prince needs to take his fans into consideration, we arent all loaded haha

If he plays smaller venues he'll be banking that he can sell out to mainly local fans in Greater London, which he probably can.

The 21 nights only sold so well due to £31.21 ticket price on sale months in advance, which was heavily subsidised by the O2 as its major launch.

If the gigs are just London and there is not decent notice, I doubt I will make it.

Fully agree with the last few comments. You can hardly call it a UK tour if he just plays a few gigs in London. He needs to come up north. Manchester or, for me, Leeds would be even better.

Judging by last year, we see more of Prince at 3rd Eye Girl gigs then we do at solely Prince credited gigs (where Liv, Shelby, the woman who's name I forget and the NPG Horns come along).

As already mentioned, 3rd Eye gigs are more centred around Prince as the front man, plenty of playing the guitar etc...

Apparently the UK Tour is just a tour of London, then lol

It will be a shame if he only plays a few small venues as the tickets will most likely be pretty expensive and sell out quickly.

Then again, if these are 3rdEyeGirl shows and not featuring the NPG, then they're really only suited to the die-hards. The general public would be dissappointed in not hearing Purple Rain in all it's glory. The majority of people would want a hits show. A 3rdEyGirl arena tour would be a bad idea, IMO.

I would love to see 3rdEyGirl in an arena. Actually much more than the Mohegan Sun show that I saw last month. I wanted to hear way more guitar than what he played there. The best part of the show was when he played with just the women. And who knows, maybe he will play Purple Rain on guitar in London. It's Prince, you never know.
