I've been to Royal Albert Hall just twice. The first time was a classical concert which was amazing, but the second time for a Pop show it was utterly dreadful. The sound was horrendous. You couldn't hear a single word sung or uttered from a microphone.

Ooh, Tate Modern would be amazing - I work just around the corner.

Must. Stop. Speculating.

Why do I feel that there is going to be a lot of dismay and dissapointment ahead...

....Fans not being able to get tickets for small venues that are vastly overpriced etc etc

Albert Hall would be the dogs !!! 'Iconic venues in London' ? ..... Jazz Cafe, Roundhouse, Hammersmith Appollo, Koko, Wag ? ??!?!?!?

But accoustics are terrible at the RAH, I'm hoping for somewhere smaller. Roundhouse for me would be a good choice, and the Hammersmith shows were good. Bush Hall?! Or maybe he'll do venues that aren't commonly used as music venues. The Globe anyone?!

Huh? The place was designed specifically for fantastic accoustic sound.

I saw Placebo at the 02 Academy in Brixton lately, that would certainly suit his 3rdeyegirl concept and the sound is good there as well. Hammersmith is another venue I would love to see him play in.
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Saw Prince at the Brixton Academy on the Jam Of The Year Tour, was amazing in that venue and yes, 3rdEye would definitely work there. He did Hammersmith also on the ONA tour, was also amazing.

Prince is always going to think of the UK as just London and it would not suprise me if he just plays London. Really worried on ticket prices.

Royal Albet hall is bad for rock/pop gigs although saw Harry Connick JR and he was playing big band/jazz music and it sounded great so we could have a bit of a mixed sound.

So it seems it is going to be pretty last minute on details like where and how much? So we have to be glued to this for 10 days? Maybe see you there? I would love it to be the Union Chapel which is a great venue but that would be a real stampede for tickets.

Is Caesars in Streatham still open?!?! And what was that place bjork played recently, that's iconic. It does say in and around London - so I wonder what kind of radius? What else is outlying? Fingers crossed and hoping around London means the rest of the uk!

Well, it will be interesting to see how organised it is, how easy it will be to get tickets and how many shows he will do.

If they are small venues, there won't be a problem if we all over subscribe trying to get tickets, but I'm up for a pact with the usual purple heads on here to cover our collective backs.

Aside from a couple of friends who I always get tickets for, I'm happy to share the spares here first with the orgers at cost to avoid us having to battle the secondary market and ebay.

If we work together I'm sure we can secure the small venues for each other.

I think it seems a bit quiet to be fair this announcement doesn't seem very official, no noises coming from prince manager of the 3rd eye twitter.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws that's it's not just London venues? Haha

Its on BBC from an official press release. It hints at outside of London too. I'm hoping Cambridge.

I'm with you on this one and happy to buy what I can to sell at cost to Orgers. Already thinking through best way to get tickets...spend hours on the internet, ticketmaster fiasco of systems crashing, frustration, remember it all from 2007 O2 gigs or go into London and buy direct from venue when sales commence.

I'm sure demand from celebs will be high for their freebies, then we have the touts to contend with....BRING IT ON

so, what is the answer 2 the question of U

Prince could get Lamela to work the door. At least then he could contribute something positive. Or AVB could take on managing the tour as his next "project" wink

It's the press conference on the 3rd not the first gig, isn't it? I think he arrives in London on 3rd to announce the shows. Have I misread that? Just want to make sure there's no gig on 3rd before I plan something that night!
