A friend and colleague this morning told me he'd heard a report on the radio saying Prince is a "strong possibility" for the 2014 Isle of Wight Festival or so he heard on the radio.

I can't find any info anywhere, however said friend has several connections with concert promoters (he's been in bands, played festivals himself, used to dabble in selling and promoting ticket packages a long time ago and still has friends in the business etc.)

I have NO idea if this is anything more than a rumour.

Even if it is correct: Currently it is nothing more than a rumour. But hey nothing wrong with rumours as long as they not put up as anything else

I wish he would play Glastonbury, but he won't, he will want too much £££££ and the whole BBC broadcast thing would never be agreed upon.He would go down a storm there and it would really raise his profile with a group of music fans who are not fully aware of his material, but will never happen.

Michael Eavis has stated that all 3 headliners will be acts that have not played Glastonbury before. I can't see it myself. that would involve allowing tv to show alot of his set and we all know P doesn't like that anymore cool

glasto don't pay any acts a lot of money, even headliners. they do it for exposure and/or promotion. there are so many bands and people to be paid the money isn't a lot

Yep, I agree, Glasto don't pay much, bands tend to do it for the exposure, whereas Prince wants a big pay day these days, though, if he did play a set, the exposure he would get would be a huge boost for him.I hope he does plays, some friends I know in a band have been signed up to play next year, so i'm hoping for decent access, so if Prince played, that would be cool.

I don't have tickets. That makes me a lot less interested.

But I did hear the same rumours about Prince performing Glastonbury 2014

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

There are rumours every Glastonbury, I will have tickets and i'd love him to play, but he would never get a big enough pay day from Mr Eavis or allow the broadcast rights they would want for a headliner.
