A little part of me hopes it won't be as fab as the concert in Stockholm cause I couldn't afford both. But almost every part of me wants it to be just as great! smile but I can't see anything on twitter yet aswell.

Apparently the skanderborg audience isn't that nice. But it is known as the old mans festival here in Denmark.

Oh my god. Sounds amazing if that's true. From the reporter it sounds like people walked away because he hasn't played any hits and too many guitar solos

yes, i`ve read that too.

basically what i can`t wait for is "moonbeam levels" confirmed.

that would be i believe his 2nd or 3rd time he has ever performed it.

he did play it on the purple rain tour. was it piano solo? full band? we`re about to find out.

Love...thy will b done

Haven't read anything about the setlist yet but seems like every reporter are pissed at Smukfest cause they let too many people in and that ruined the experience totally for a lot of people. And the lack of hits.

For you fans out there, my reflections from the Smukfest.

This was the place where Prince played:

http://www.dr.dk/NR/rdonlyres/A1074B04-91FC-4262-8103-869B5D73CD75/4084178/8b97eed0082944fe86a16410c6bf6865_20120812215843L10.jpg

It was very difficult to get good places, it was extremeley crowded and when people at the same time left from the act before and others wanted to get a good place for Prince it was quite a disaster. A lot of people didn't get to see at all since there were around 40-50 000 people which is by FAR too many for this type of place: in an opening in a forest (!). Even though I arrived late, I managed to get a good place - in the middle, 20 meters back, and got a good view the complete show.

The danish papers all report about the owercrowded festival and that the producers should be ashamed of that.

The no-photo didn't work. The Danish people are not as law abiding as the Swedish are. In Stockholm two days earlier, the no-photo worked very well. Unfortunately for the festival, this made Prince leave before he could end the concert properly. He gave a no-no sign a few times towards people taking pictures or recording, and said somthing short about showing respect another time. He performed a good concert anyhow, but to me it seemed that he got a bit sad for that reason.

He sang great this night, he did a few rare songs and he let the songs take their time and there where not so many "snippets".

Some, not all, of the songs, not in order:

He performed the first verse of Better Place 2 Die/Moonbeam Levels, which was fun for us who are into Princeology.

Electric Chair was short, divided into two parts when he sat and played at the piano.

Plectrum Electrum was really great. Throughout the concert he played more guitar and Donna didn't get to the front of the stage as many times as in Stockholm which means that Prince took the front and did his guitar work, and we alla know who is the better guitar-player... (no offense at all).

Sign of the Times was in the shortenede sampler set plus the band playing was long and groovy. Prince did a bass-solo, taking the bass from Ida, which he doesn't do so much anymore. Before SOTT was a full version of Housequake.

Ida, whose hometown is Aarhus where, the nearest town, got more space and performed a really good bassolo at one point.

She's Always In My Hair and Let's Go Crazy were slow versions, as they use to be.

Bambi, Take me with U and U got the look. Nothing special with that.

The love we make, as he usually does it nowadyas.

The Max is cool nowadays.

Colonized Mind was really brilliant with extra text, probably having extra meaning because of the no respect for the no-photo.

Purple Rain and Nothing Compares 2 U were really heartfealt, long versions really giving them feeling and of course he got the audience in a great mood. Both songs not my favourites, but this time, it was obvious that he was putting a lot of feeling into these two songs.

The intro was completetly different from Stockholm, he started really hard in Stockholm but in Denmark it was instead a very beautiful new piano song that I have not heard before, and the band filled in. Really wonderful. It went into The Breakdown then into (as I remeber it) Diamonds and pearls.

And he did his new songs Fix Ur Life Up, Screwdriver basic versions.

He started with his couloured guitar which I think was better because it works better in a large venu due to the clearer sound.

Funknroll was not good at all. I don't like it either. It was better in Stockholm.

After around 2,5h the concert kind of drifted into lower focus and tempo and he ended the concert after only one encore. I'm convinced that it was the photo-thing. It was kind of cut off.

It was a really great concert - both choice of songs, emotional load and energy, but a proper Prince never ends a concert without a good party, and that party didn't really occur, which I think was because of people taking pictures. Too bad for them...

Prince challenged our Crown Prince to a game of ping pong last night - but he had other obligations early this morning so he couldn't stay at Smukfest for the whole show

Not much to add, it was a good concert for a fan and if you love guitar. For a festival crowd it was the wrong set list. I really enjoyed it but missed the funk and the expected party at the end. Prince really played the socks of every one and every thing and seemed to really enjoy himself.
We had excellent sound and vision which was too cool. Unfortunately the crowd was too big and quite unruly. Very scary actually and it felt completely out of control. Too bad.

You lucky Danish basterds!

I can not believe this setlist!!! how amazing must it have been hearing all the new songs, unreleased ones and the not so usual suspects...which I never mind hearing but this is absolutely mouthwatering...sounds like true festival stuff to me..isn't a more guitar based show better in place then a funky disco one?...

Sweet dreams you all...

And in Holland we can only start praying for a night like this (without the crowd hassle that is).
