Marquees AZ Shows

Who's going to the Tempe shows at the Marquees?? Can anyone tell me what I should expect with this venue? Potential after party hot spots? Thank in advance!

My husband and I are going to the late May 1st show. This will be my first time seeing Prince. I hope there is an after show somewhere. My only suggestion is to keep an eye on Funkenberry for any additional information....and of course here.

I'm going to the early show on the 30th and the late show on the 1st. I'm very excited to see him in a small venue. I've seen him 3 times so far. It's been different every time. I'm not expecting a lot of radio hits on this tour. I hope others don't either....there has been some public disappointment about that in the past...

I worried about that too. I have never seen him and I'm worried about standing for so long. Not sure what time I should get down there to get a good spot for the late show.

I happen to be in town for a conference (coming from Europe) and I am going the late show of May 1. This will be my 18th time seeing Prince and I am excited to see him with this band in a smaller venue!

To answer your questions the venue is small but not super small. 2,000 people.

I have been to a number of shows there and the only time I remember there being seats was in 2010 when Sonic Youth played. There were maybe 20 chairs or so set up in the back.

This venue used to be called The Red River Opry years ago and it had seats.

The sound is great in the room. Pretty basic set up. A lobby, A bar, A patio, and the venue.

I was just there a week or two ago and there was construction going on where the merch table usually is.

As far as after parties. You can take the Mill Ave. Bridge across to Tempe. There are bars, clubs, etc. since this venue is closest to Arizona State University. But when you arrive you will notice it is all by itself. There are no restaurants directly near it.

You can park at the venue which fills up quick or across the street there is a business office that has a parking structure that you can also park at for $7.00.

Hope this helps.

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.

Just received an email that there will be only one show per evening, at 8pm. The late shows have been cancelled. Spread the word.
