I'm one of Prince biggest fans, and have listened to his music since he came on the scene, but I've never seen him in concert. My wish is to someday see the man in concert, here in America.

Let's hope the setlist includes new music from a new album. The days of paying for flights and hotels to hear Purple Rain and Let's Go Crazy are over. And I don't want to hear any Sly Stone or Michael Jackson covers, either. If I'm paying proper money, I want Prince music.....and new Prince music, at that. If he wants to throw out Purple Rain at the end, that's fine, but a new setlist is BADLY needed.

I feel you, I'm bringing some people to see Prince and he needs to do PRINCE because else my friends are going to be like, so this is the old dude you've been hyping up xD Lol...

But I'm still going to Denmark to see him, I heard something about him going to Norway as well? I hope he does the NPG festival in Denmark like in 2011 but that it doesn't rain this time around... cool

Originally, the term masterpiece referred to a piece of work produced by an apprentice or journeyman aspiring to become a master craftsman in the old European guild system.
His fitness to qualify for guild membership was judged partially by the Masterpie

That's a really long way out for Prince.

I say he cancels for personal reasons from having a falling out with Andy Allo or whoever replaces her between now and then. I'm not joking.

Didn't Andy say that she was going to be playing over there too, so doubt they will fall out any time soon.

Fans of Mayte, Manuela, Bria, Andy---they all have those doubts.

Doc funk hinted at a possible jazz festival. Maybe North sea jazz in July, but really hoping for New Orleans Jazz fest!! pray
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

So please: no rain, no next-standing fool saying Tom Jones' original Kiss is better confused no cancellations and please no drunk tall ass with an attitude in front of me...

Ill take Sly and Michael Jackson's tributes, and I still dont mind being the one furthest away from the scene... as long as the sound is good, people are happy and Mr. Prince is ready to partyyyyyyyy biggrin

Any one know how the accommodation works at this festival? I just want to go for the Prince concert. Is the locale so remote that I need to plan to camp? I don't speak Danish, and I couldn't even figure out if their camping offers were for the night or for the whole festival (I think for the whole festival)? what are the rest of you doing for accommodation? Any tips/advice?

I couldn't find a lot of info on the website but it does say that there will be buses from the festival site to the train station in Skanderborg. The camping offers are for tents that you can rent I think. You can also camp there for free (I know a friend of mine does this every year). Other than that it should be possible to call a cab. If I decide on going I have no idea what I'm gonna do yet.

The website doesn't have a lot of info - quite annoying for people who hasn't been there before

Gonna have to disagree with you there. You have to remember that most people haven't seen Prince 100 times. I've never seen him in my life.. I missed him in London in '07, and couldn't get tickets to Hop Farm in '11. I'm dying to see him this year.. but if he came to the UK and didn't play his hits, especially Purple Rain, I'd be pissed.. and so would 90% of the other people who'd paid for tickets.

The Montreux set could be far less "mainstream", because the Jazz Festival is for serious music lovers and they'll love a bit of random unknown jazz funk.. but this festival in Denmark is most likely gonna be full of pop fans who just wanna sing and dance to Little Red Corvette and 1999.

Maybe you die hard fans should stop spending thousands flying around the world to see the same show, and let the people in those countries have their turn.. I mean, how often does he play festivals? Especially in Denmark lol

Have to agree...we often forget that the majority of his fans wants to hear the hits. They are in fact great songs, to smile. Like it has been said many times, if you go to a Stones concert you wanna hear satisfaction...

So we have some classics, some hits and a great show.

Then there is montreux or aftershows where he will surely play more of the other stuff...

Think thats not bad...

Maybe you can meet up with org'ers, then you won't feel alone at the concert.
There was a thread quite a while back of a guy describing each of the 7 or so concerts he saw during the L.A. 21 night stand; I said I missed all of them despite living in L.A. and he thought I was crazy, or too poor. I never posted back, but my reason was that I had a baby in April (the month of the concerts).
So everyone has their reasons.
I've only seen him once, in 93 at Universal Amphitheater (now Gibson).

How much is a 5 day ticket? And is that with accommodation?

If not how much is a one day ticket (prince date) with camping?

Thanks

A 5-day ticket is 1995 DKK + fee (about 268 euro + fee). This is with camping at the festival. A one day ticket is 875 DKK + fee ( about 117 euro + fee) and you will also be able to camp at the festival. I'm quite sure that you don't need a ticket to camp at Skanderborg cause a friend of mine does it every year without attending.
