Can't u call and reserve tix that way faster? I fear the site will b jammed 4 a while...

Perhaps they put the sale on hold 4 a while 2 let servers rest. Getting the 5:51pm thing as well now. Sigh...and back 2 automatic reloading the page

 it isn't just you. but, it is a surprise appearance and spontaneous and so we can expect a bump or two.
the dakota is not really a large place. for sure there will be folks who don't get in, who want to.
i hope there might still be parties at paisley park, that's the only place big enough for all the prince fans in the world@

I sprinted the 4 blocks through the skyways to walk down there and they were still closed (not open for lunch yet) with big signs on the doors saying tickets would ONLY be for sale ONLINE.
So I lucked out there too. My bf was trying all the time at his office to get through.
sigh...

Prince is playing six shows at the Dakota Jazz Club in downtown Minneapolis, starting Wednesday, Jan. 16.
Andrea Swenson of Minnesota Public Radio's 89.3 The Current, shared the news on the station's Local Current blog.
"So that's why the Dakota Jazz Club's calendar has been conspicuously blank for the remainder of this week and weekend," Swenson wrote. "The space has been rented out by none other than Prince, who will be holding an audition for a new drummer, hosting a jam session, and performing at six separate events at the Dakota this week."
The Dakota has set a limit of four tickets per person.
Tickets for the Jan. 16, 17 and 18 shows, at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. each night, went on sale at 11 a.m. Tuesday at http://dakotacooks.com/on...and-store/
Wednesday, Jan. 16
"Soundcheck" shows will include a drummer audition
Tickets are $70
Thursday, Jan. 17
Jam sessions
Tickets range from $100 to $150
Friday, Jan. 18
"Surprise"
Tickets are $250 each
The ticketing system was overloaded within the first ten minutes, but visitors to the page were queued for purchasing when the site was able to load. However, when FOX 9 was able to access the ticketing system, tickets when not yet available for purchase.
The purchasing site listed the on-sale time as 5:47 p.m. for the Wednesday soundcheck, 5:51 p.m. for the Thursday jam and 5:55 p.m. for the Friday surprise.
More info from Dakota Jazz Club: "The kitchen will be closed all night and there will be no food available for purchase. Cameras and cell phones will not be allowed inside. Leave your cell phones behind. If you are caught with a phone, you will be removed from the venue by security-No exceptions. Should you bring one, a cell phone check will be provided at the door."

when the page refreshes all it does is link to upcoming events at the Dakota and then, when you click on the link to the event, it says the tickets go on sale later today... so.... back to waiting and waiting. or, secretlly clicking on the link for the next six hours, even though it goes no where. which i would never do  |
