Rumor of Secret LA Gig Tonight

I just got an email from a publicist friend that Prince is playing a secret show at Sayers Club in Hollywood which is said to be a very hoity toity tough-door-policy Paris Hilton type place with a capacity of 200.

She hasn't steered me wrong yet.

I'm sweating paying off my car so I'm for sure not going but, who knows, maybe somebody here can tell me how it was.

Confirmed on drfonkanberry. Too bad us lil folk can't go. Update on the show will be posted here when avaliable. Drfunkenberry.com
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

What is the setlist? (the gig might still be going on at this time...)

DrFunkenberry stated that all phones had to be checked in at the front door sooo most people will not be able to update. He's supposed to have a full review on his site later tonight/today.

You mean they confiscated phones?

Nice way to make them able to upgrade to the iPhone 6^H5 by misplacing stuff.

That is hilarious and can only be done in the USA.

I'm glad my phone is just a phone or didn't they make exceptions for non-'smart' phones?

Why is Prince so insistent on playing The Time and Sheila E's music. I hate hearing him sing those when he has so much of his own catalogue he can play. He must be really jealous of Morris

No, he has no newer songs he considers worthy.

He, on average, plays songs that are 20-25 years old.

Did you ever, in the past 10 years, see him play at least half of one of the discs of Emancipation on a show? Or any album beyond that?

He just leans on the hits.

The other songs are the exceptions that the diehardolder fans go for.

We've heard the hits too many times, even though he changes the way they are performed once in a while.

We need different kicks now.

trax didn't, obviously.

and until proven otherwise my explanation is true for 51% or more.

why else release new cd's every now and then but play stuff that is mostly much older?

I'd love it if he'd include slightly lesser-known top 40 hits OF HIS OWN rather than this usual fare.

Why not some Delirious, I Would Die 4 U, Pop Life, Mountains, If I Was Your Girlfriend, Willing and Able, 7, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, I Hate U, Black Sweat, etc etc

I'm sure the general public is familiar with quite a few Prince songs that didn't TOP the charts. Time to mix it up.

So why release any new albums?

Better do the MJ treatment: cut back to one in 5 years or so and condense 2 or 3 into one.

Was Housequake a true Housequake or just a bit of hinting of it and not the true song?

I'm firmly planted in denial

Just old stuff.

Shh being the newest, or maybe TDE if you count the new arrangements and live playing of it.

No single. No more recent stuff than 15 years?!
