The band went on at 1. Let me know when you guys get out so I can have the vaguest idea of what to expect for tomorrow.

Obviously that's impossible with Prince, so just call it curiosity.

I would have expected another hour at least, just have to wait for everyone to come back to earth and write their reviews, and may be get some sleep too I guess

Mountains made me cry.

It was also cool to hear Jam of the Year.

Everytime I fly out west, I sing Mountains. By far my favorite song. I came to Chicago last night with a heavy heart and a light wallet, and Prince healed my mood with the aftershow set list. Thank you, Prince. That show was incredible and worth twice what I paid
since Run & Them were saying "Here we go"

What I heard from the crowd

"BEST NIGHT EVER!!!!"

"WE FORGIVE YOUUUU!!"

What a show. It was so on point and I couldn't stop fan-girling all night. Days of Wild (god bless "Chicago", home of the brave biggrin ), Mountains (I screamed hysterically, sorry people who happened to be around me...), and oh my god Dance Electric!!!!!! T_T I had to pinch myself to make sure it was real.

Oh and at the end Shelby sang Brown Skin. Sorry Shelby, I actually love your voice but after what Prince did tonight I don't think a lot ppl will remember your performance smile

That was one hell of a show I feel very lucky and blessed to have been there. WE LOVE YOU PRINCE!!!!!!

Glad to see he made up for Monday. By most accounts sounds like he kicked butt in both the concert & aftershow. Happy for him and all who attended.

Of course Prince made it up those who had a disppointing night! biggrin I'm sure there were many reasons/factors that were outwith his control that contributed to what happened. Prince delivers & showed how much he values & loves his fans by making ammends. He's a true gentleman. cool

Yet again...

I believe the stunning performance(s) this time around indicate a key ingredient that actually inspires Prince...

COMPETITION//CRITIQUE. The fans, this time around, challenged him, hard, as did the press. And he clearly listened.

Well done, Prince; let's see if you can translate that level of genius musicianship/storytelling to an album, again?

Please don't release it, of course. Let's just see if you've still got in you, on wax, as few believe it to be the case.

love,

Spirit

Ok ,here is a REAL report of the show at HOB tues.

HOB didnt lets anyone in untill 11 -or so,the dj was from minn, was real good mixing in prince jams with other music, the band was HOT and played thier butts off, prince played a lil guitar and being a musician myself, the guitar didnt sound that good going threw the house P.A. but he played a lil bass and was real funky. He did apoligize (srry) for things ,he did thank HOB /THE CREW for doing a good job,and said wens night show is going to be special so dont miss it.SHelby did a great job singing and putting on a show no matter what any amature prince fan says. Most of the show they played in the dark, john blackwell threw out a few sticks (i allmost got one, girl next to me did get it) and security was watching for picture takers, thats why i didnt get one (haha) - and i got caught trying to sneak in my mini tascam recorder ,and ill never do it again, they just took out my batteries.

Every one was real cool except for one dork who wouldnt let me sit at a table next to him because he wanted to save it for a girl he was going to pick up,he went home alone - hahaha ! -dork

All in all,it was worth my 88$ being so close to the stage and seeing him play instead of the nosebleeds at united.

He actually came to the mic and explained that he needed to rest his voice (and the rest of him), so he'd have something left for tonight's shows. And after Monday night's fiasco (and the subsequent bad reviews all over the local media), I suspect he got very little sleep yesterday.

I don't begrudge him his rest. What he did with the hour-and-a-half he was out there will live in the hearts and minds of the people there forever.

I'll try to remember for you John.

Be Happy
Jam of the Year
Days of Wild
Mountains
Wild and Loose
Dance Electric
Brown Skin
Stratus(not sure if this was it. Instrumental bad ass jam with Prince on bass, Mike Scott on guitar and Hannah Ford on drums).
Get on the Boat

I'm going to do a proper review after my two shows today but I just wanted to say I was touched that Prince apologized, that he did everything he could to make it right for the fans that were there Monday night and that after his performance of dance electric, he let fans know he wanted to rest his voice and was essentially done performing for the night. He made it right and I'm grateful.

prince ruined any bootleggers shot of filming by playing in the dark.

If there is audio of this somewhere, trust me, it will suffice. cloud9

He also did a bit of $ and Song of the Heart.

The Dance Electric sequence started with the intro to DE, then segued into a full Mountains, Everyday People and then into a monster jam on the full Dance Electric - with an epic guitar solo.
