I was right about Mr.Royal badness. He just needed to get the kinks out & then knock em dead again like he usually does the next night. I feel bad for those that witnessed the rawness of an opening show. But maybe next tour U can catch him or stay home like u threatened to with all the nasty mean comments U made about him... giggle

i'm wondering about this, as well. any reports of how this sounded? i wish he did more stuff from lotusflow3r and 20ten. dreamer is a killer live tune - glad he did that

I think he didn't play guitar, but all the verses were there, I think.

I know he played the entire song, but not sure about the guitar solo. I remebre he was really working the stage so I don't think he was playing guitar much on that one. I just in awe that he was perfoming that song at all. It was amazing.

Now that's a nice, Prince-centric set list! Also, it was good of him to admit fault and apologize as well. It looks like he's tried to make amends the best he can, which is really all he can do at this point. Make I'll catch the lil' stinker again tonight. wink

Let me just say that regarding the set lists, it is like Prince has been reading our comments on the Org this past year. Including Monday, he has incorporated several of his lesser known songs into the shows and it has made for an amazing experience for casual fans and hard cores alike. I say that he must be reading the Org because those kind of complaints are not typically made in mainstream media. Most folks are happy with just the hits. However, Prince is really showing me with this Chicago residency that he respects his hard core fans as well, even if it is an arena performance. He is just so bold and unapologetic (concerning the music). He is playing what he wants and isn't shying away from songs like Old Friends 4 Sale, Satisfied, Get On the Boat, She's Always in My Hair, Dreamer, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, Sometimes it Snows in April, Act of God, etc. His atitude was, "If you don't know, you better ask somebody!" I love him for that.

just seen some footage of Nothing compares 2 u w/ jennifer hudson and it was amazing ! ! she was in awe of him and great chemstry.... much like his performance w/ mary j. we are blessed to still have an opportunity to check out this living legend still at it. Dude might have lost a split or two but not a step.. he is a better musician and vocalist than he ever was..

cant believe he played songs like:

jam of the year

days of wild

dreamer

mr goodnight

act of god

mountains

sometimes it snows in april

Funny, a woman in front of me was angry that he played a song she did not know now and then. She seemed to love the concert but it was a reminder of how others want the hits.

Just got home. I'm still a bit emotional but I want to write few words before I go to sleep.

Tonight...wow, yesterday I had a lot of fun and tonight, I was simply blown away. There were just too many unforgettable moments such as amazing guitar solos, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore with the piano, Nothing Compares 2 U with Jennifer Hudson, and I definitely didn't expect to hear Sometimes It Snows in April or Act of God. I dig the slower version of Little Red Corvette too.

He was definitely more bolder with his dancing also, compared to yesterday. Love when he shake his ass like that lol. The audience went WILD.

Prince apologized for the last night a few times btw, and the crowd screamed their lungs out, "It's okaaaaay" =) At the end of the day Prince you're only human...we all make mistakes and we forgive each other and move on. And after the apology, he later then also said "please, please come back tomorrow" - I thought it was quite humble of him. (he said that yesterday too) From what I saw so far, he doesn't need to ask us to come to his show tomorrow - at least not in Chicago. United Center was pretty packed, like Prince said himself, at least 17,000 people smile

Thank you Prince, I had a beautiful evening. We love you very much and I'll see you again tomorrow <3

Yes we will see him tonight! We have kissed and made up.

WTF didn't he do full versions of When Doves Cry and I Would Die 4 U (my favorite songs) on the 24th, not to mention U Got The Look?

I will not go see him again for this bullshit. With my luck, if I were to shell out MORE money that I don't have to buy a ticket for tomorrows show, it would probably end up being a show mostly of that whatever her name is that's the opening act singing for the first half of the show and then the other half would probably be all Shelby J.innocent Either that, or it would be a bunch of boring 70's sounding shit again like on the 24th.zzz

yeah it was my first and last show for Prince. NEVER AGAIN!!

you shouldn't judge on ONE show... My gosh even a All Star baseball player can have a day when they go 0-4 and make 3 errors.. that doesn't mean EVERY game they suck....... He had a bad off night.. He was NOT happy about it and people were fired over it... cut him a bit of slack...

Sorry for your expierence but Prince is 1 of the greatest performers period.Yeah 1st night was a bad night sound wise which includes other folks like the soundman. Prince's track record as far as live performances is solid so if it's never again for you then fuck it..you look better gone.

So defensive on behalf of Prince... there's no need to get confrontational with trax... And blaming the soundman is weak. Isn't a soundcheck meant to get the sound right? Is Prince not allowed into the venue early enough to do a proper soundcheck and make sure it sounds good BEFORE he goes on stage? Maybe he can't soundcheck until after the stage is set up, and that takes a while... but surely by now he knows how long everything takes to set up, so why can't he just start earlier?

Lots of bands bring sound techs on the road with them... why doesn't Prince do this? I dunno, maybe there are sound guys on the org who can answer this: Can a good soundman make any venue sound good, or is each venue so different that it's a gamble how good anyone can make it sound? Does it make sense for Prince to just hire and keep sound techs who work well with him? Or is it not worth it to keep soundguys on retainer because maybe they're a dime a dozen?

A sound check can go great.. and then early in the show a transformer could blow out.. or a speaker goes bad. something can happen un foreseen... they were trying to fix the problem during the whole show... shit happens...

Sadly prince doesn't pick his songs out for US.. he changes stuff around every concert.. any fan knows that.. WHY be so upset.. I mean Mondays show WAS a bust... it sucked... I am a HUGE LONG LONG time fan and I was very upset and down... but even if I didn't have tickets to the next 2 nights I would go to his shows again next time he is around........ Lets face it.. 19 out of every 20 Prince concerts ROCK.. its just bad luck you had a bad one... sorry..

After reading all the press and comments on the Org and Twitter after Monday nigths mess.. I totally believe that prince Does care about us (his fans) cause he did so much that people were complaining about..

Did everyone notice that on Monday night the video screen was such a mess.. 1/2 the time it was not on Prince, or it only showed Princes hands on the mike.... sad....

Last night it was right on.. and did you catch the COOL 70s glam with the opening song on the video screen.

People.. Prince does listen.. not always.. but he does care about his shows and he really wants us to be happy when we leave...
