Not exactly an excuse people want to hear if it's their only show.

I was extremely fortunate, but obviously a lot of folks got screwed.

So was the sampler tonight the same as the 24th show? If he didn't sing I Would Die For U or When Doves Cry in their full form, I didn't miss anything because those were the songs I really wanted to hear in full versions. And did he sing U Got the Look?

He added more stuff with the sampler-- Forever in Ur Life was f*cking amazing 2hear, made us do the chant in It's Gonna B A Beautiful Night, did full version of I Would Die 4 U and When Doves Cry ( always gets me emotional 2hear him per4m this live as it's my absolute favorite Prince song that got me hooked back in '84 when I was in high school and used 2listen 2 Casey Kasem's American Top 40 and when I heard it 4 the first time, really piqued my interest and was hooked on Prince since then, but I digress). He also sang U Got the Look. Definitely one of my top 3 Prince concerts ever (I've only been to 10 concerts though: #1 would b One Night Alone concert at Kodak Theater in 2001(?), #2 at 3121 Rio Las Vegas in 2006(?)-- sorry I'm forgetting my dates). But 2nite the crowd was xstatic and Prince was really having a gr8 time and he really played that guitar most of the nite (definitely 2 make up 4 last nite). Thank u Prince!!!!

I don't know who it was, but somebody on the board yesterday was bitching that Prince's sets are getting predictable.

To which I respond

Hahahahahahahahahaha

I'm glad I got to see 2 1/2 hours of that 3 hour behemoth, if nothing else.

WTF didn't he do full versions of When Doves Cry and I Would Die 4 U (my favorite songs) on the 24th, not to mention U Got The Look?

I will not go see him again for this bullshit. With my luck, if I were to shell out MORE money that I don't have to buy a ticket for tomorrows show, it would probably end up being a show mostly of that whatever her name is that's the opening act singing for the first half of the show and then the other half would probably be all Shelby J.innocent Either that, or it would be a bunch of boring 70's sounding shit again like on the 24th.zzz

I need to get my ass off this site before I get anymore pissed.pissed

It probably won't do anything to lift your spirits, but When Doves Cry and I Would Die 4 U were only "full" by sample set standards. Maybe a minute or so of each. Enough to get a singalong going and that's about it.

The sample set can blow me btw. I could have choked that skinny motherfucker with the high voice for playing like 20 seconds of Sign O The Times and Hot Thing combined.

OK, that actually does help me feel A LITTLE better. (I'm reaching for anything I can!).

Now if I just hadn't read about U Got The Look being performed...mad

I guess at least I got The Glamorous Life and Jungle Love - I did like those (except for the muddy sound problems).

Kid was in rare form tonight! Honestly put last nights concert to shame by comparison. A complete departure from the usual. Have seen him 10 times since W2A began and tonight by far was the best since NY. Worth every penny. Looking forward to tomorrow night.

I think it's worth a mention that there is only 3 cover versions, It might be what contributes to a great gig

Loved that version of "never take the place of your man." One of the best of the W2As that I have seen. Many old songs but some with completely different interpretations. He was on. Maybe he just likes to get his hand slapped sometimes? He apologised for last night several times.

Just got home. I'm still a bit emotional but I want to write few words before I go to sleep.

Tonight...wow, yesterday I had a lot of fun and tonight, I was simply blown away. There were just too many unforgettable moments such as amazing guitar solos, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore with the piano, Nothing Compares 2 U with Jennifer Hudson, and I definitely didn't expect to hear Sometimes It Snows in April or Act of God. I dig the slower version of Little Red Corvette too.

He was definitely more bolder with his dancing also, compared to yesterday. Love when he shake his ass like that lol. The audience went WILD.

Prince apologized for the last night a few times btw, and the crowd screamed their lungs out, "It's okaaaaay" =) At the end of the day Prince you're only human...we all make mistakes and we forgive each other and move on. And after the apology, he later then also said "please, please come back tomorrow" - I thought it was quite humble of him. (he said that yesterday too) From what I saw so far, he doesn't need to ask us to come to his show tomorrow - at least not in Chicago. United Center was pretty packed, like Prince said himself, at least 17,000 people smile

Thank you Prince, I had a beautiful evening. We love you very much and I'll see you again tomorrow <3

Was he apologizing for the shitty sound quality, the shitty setlist, or the shitty 1 hour wait for a two song encore that most people missed?hmmm

I think it's missing Dancing Machine (by Jackson 5). I'm pretty sure I heard it during one of the encore, when he invited people to come up on stage to dance with him. Hope someone can confirm this...

The sound for the most part, he apologized more than once. And come on there was no 1 hour wait for the encore, from what I heard it was more like 30 minute wait. Like I said in my post yesterday, I missed it too but it's alright, especially after what I've experienced tonight biggrin

I am green with envy cool it seems to have been a great experience for all those who attended the show! this is exactly why we love you Prince. Much love from Kenya. From what i can gather, the performances were electric! He even performed one of the gems' how come u don't call me anymore' .... Do you think we can hope that he might one day come to Africa and grace us with his coolness?
