Cee'lo's album cuts just like Prince r better than his singles.....He is a very gifted & soulful singer...Prince rarely invites males on stage to sing with him. So that says something.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! Oh damn... I posted earlier how I was tkaing my girl to her first Prince concert, and how he better bring the energy, and how he might even bring up Bruce Springsteen to really impress (I'm joking, but my girlfriend's popstar obsession is Springsteen).
I just the saw the clip on The View, where not only does he compare his tight band with the ways of Bruce, but also alludes to watching a Bruce show from backstage.
This is one of many times where some little detail of Prince randomly coincides so well with my world.... can't wait to show her the clip. She'll have the right attitude going in. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

After seeing some Springsteen shows and the recent documentary, I have now understood that Prince does take a lot from Springsteen in terms of showmanship and audience interaction (and possibly the ambition to maintain a signature sound that is your own brand. Yeah, she was on (maybe still is on?) some GO Transit ads on the GO trains (GO Transit is a public transportation service in the greater Toronto area). It made me chuckle on the commute. | |

At Paisley Park watching Prince rehearse a 20 piece band for upcoming Chicago residency. Drill sergeant meets Count Basie.
Prince is rolling his eyes at one band member who toured with Justin Timberlake and is now "overplaying." "I have to retrain him."
Prince is humming melody lines to guitarists, instructing drummer exactly where to put a cymbal accent. "Gotta feel where that goes!"

I don't know, since he's bringing the horns back it may be a lil different show than all the other welcome 2 america shows. I wouldn't mind heavily synths based Hits show either but there could be some surprises, who knows. Just my personal opinion.. | |
