Tour Withdrawal

Hi fellow orgers. Batman here. I spoke with many of you at different points during the Sydney shows and Melbourne's 30th concert, and also the infamous Hi Fi cue line up for 3.5 hrs. had a blast the whole time, each show for different reasons. I now find myself coming to grips to the reality of no more shows on the horizon to attend. What a great tour this has been and it's been made even more so by the wonderful conversations and casual chats enjoyed with fans throughout the events. Thanks not only to Prince but you all for creating some great memories that will always be remembered fondly.

I hear you, Batman. The tour came and went so fast it feels like a dream now. It literally feels liks just a few days ago we were speculating when/if an Aussie tour was going to happen. What an amazing ride it has been.

A dream is an appropriate description of this period Toejam. It has that 'was it real/ did it really happen like that' vibe still in my mind and today is actually the day I have felt the come-down. The fact that I do feel like this is wonderful in it's own right as it just once again proves that Prince's music is as powerful to me today as it has even been.

My name is DJJ, I'm a purple addict for 23 years.

Yes, I understand.

I had it last year.

Had no money, and scraped and borrowed to get my purple fix.

That period was so thrilling and I still get a big smile on my face when I think back.

I still feel the withdrawal a year later!

I get a purple fix vicariously by the concert reports here though.

On the other hand, I would not want to go to a show where he would do his big hits now.

That's what happens to purple junkies, you need more and better material to get the same purple high as before. That's how addictions work.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

LOL - My name is Susie and I am a Purple Addict too.

Saw Prince for the first time live in Brisbane this year (both concerts)

Next time he comes, I am going to all the concerts & aftershows I can afford.

Had a Blast.

PS - I was very depressed last week - but an "orger" helped me & this week I am just remembering the great time I had.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind πŸ’œ

I have immersed myself in playing CDs non stop and listening to Peach & Black podcasts. It seems to be helping for now.

I pulled back on the Prince music, but I will work my way through the podcasts too. I listened to a few in the leadup to the concerts.

It's his birthday this Thursday, so that's a good excuse to keep celebrating (even if it is my wife's birthday too).

My wife likes Prince as well so no complaints from her. I'm lucky to a degree as I had a lot of the catalogue missing excluding 4 or 5 albums from Emancipation onwards which I have purchased since and am now listening through, so it's like all new material to me smile

Still missing Xpectation, C-Note, The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse. Any ideas on where to pick these up?

Well, they were never retail or physical cds. How on earth would someone search to find a non-physical piece of music on the internet? It's just so baffling...

I agree with you Batman...it was a week ago today that I attended the last Melbourne concert, then stood in a queue for 4 hrs and caught an up-close glimpse of the beautiful man...yet it all feels like a dream. I've been listening to his music nonstop for the last few weeks, which only slightly takes the edge off the PPTD (Post Prince Tour Depression). What a phenomenal performer. A supremely talented being and very sexy man indeed. I have two amazing concert experiences to look back on and best of all, I've connected with a few fellow purple fanatics who share my obsession (my name is Johanna. I am a Princeaholic). I wonder if Prince suffers from tour withdrawal the same way that we do? Let's hope he doesn't leave it another ten years before he returns...

I saw him three times in less than a year in 2006-2007, got a quick fix in 2009, and I'm still in withdrawal. disbelief
