I will be there. Hopefully for both TO shows.
Thank you Prince for coming back "home".
Anyone know when the tickets go on sale for the Toronto shows? I've been looking but can't find anything yet. [Edited 10/28/11 15:43pm] |
I saw 5 or 4 november somewhere. |
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. |
Halifax is really close to me, so I'll be at that show for sure! |
it s going to be 3rd time this year OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MONTREAL IT AINT OVER |
on this welcome2 _____ tour, I wonder how many dates were done in the us, and how many were outside of the us.....and....if the money made outside the us has to be reported to the irs Ludwig: You find yourself amusing, Blackadder.

I agree !! I can't decide which one to go to Vancouver or Victoria so I am going to try to sneak away for both! I believe the Vancouver arena holds close to 20,000 people and the one in Victoria holds 7,000. After going to Montreal in June I love the smaller venues! If I HAD to choose which one would be the best??? any suggestions? |
Depending on the amount of money my boss gives me for the holidays I didn't take, I might want to try to go to Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa...
But Montreal is 100% certain!
I'm just in heaven! This is unbelievably too wonderful!

I couldn't have said that any better. Metropolis is going to be tough to beat eh?

Oh, man, I am beyond excited! To my knowledge Prince has never played Canada East of Quebec so I had kind of resigned myself to never seeing him live but Halifax is only about ninety minutes away from where I live! |

At first I assumed he'd continue the Welcome 2 _______ with the same stage setup, symbol stage, VIP packages, etc… but now I'm not so sure anymore. It might be hard to setup for 1-night gigs instead of short residencies, and the couple of seating charts and price ranges that have been disclosed don't point towards that direction… |

Prince, one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time whose recorded music, live performances and powerful artistry have affected music and pop culture like no other, will bring his extraordinary live production to Canada with his spectacular tour, WELCOME 2 CANADA. This is Prince’s first multi-city national Canadian tour since 2002. |
Dammit! Why'd he skip Calgary? Our saddledome is bigger than Rexall place anyway, as is the city!

True, plus the seating charts probably hasn't been updated to reflect the actual Prince gig, as it should appear in the drop down menu(s). The prices don't make reference to VIP packages. I guess we'll just have to wait a couple of days & see.

Yep, higher than U.S. Dollars.
Also can Canadian fans post hotel/travel information for those travelling to Canada? I think that would be very helpful info. Also is a passport or just birth certificate needed from Americans? Not that I'm going to the Canada shows, but last time I visited Canada, I was around 12 or 13 years old, and Americans only had to present a birth certificate as identification. I gather a passport is now the required document of identification non-Canadians now? [Edited 10/30/11 14:46pm] UK artist - Daley, puts a nice flavor to r&b

I was there in June and you need a passport. If you don't have one the whole process takes awhile. I ended up doing a rush on my passport. $500 later i was in Montreal seeing P and it was all worth it! |
Thanks. Haven't been to Canada in years. I visited Canada 3 times when I was younger (Toronto twice in my teen years, and some other section with my parents when I was 5), so wasn't sure if just birth certificates was all you needed as an American citizen still. If you can, you should by the tickets you can afford. When I went to one of the NJ shows last year I bought cheap tickets but ended up moving down to better seats so it worked out. Really good to see such buzz and genuine excitement on the Org. neurotic city... |
Well hurry and get it renewed!
|
Well, for Amex, you'd need to register to the American Express Front of the Line, and if you have Prince as your favourite on your LiveNation profile, in theory you should get an email telling you when the presale is along with a code to enter. For some reason, I've had trouble receiving those emails, but found the presale codes online… on this forum. |
Visitors from any country other than the U.S. have always needed a passport to enter Canada. On the other hand, because of a friendly border crossing agreement between Canada and the United States, Canada Border Services did not require U.S. citizens to present a passport to enter Canada. This friendly border crossing agreement used to be mutual; however, now the WHTI requires that U.S. citizens have a passport to return home. In this way, passport requirements for Canada and U.S. borders are different on paper, but, are in practice, the same. Canada will not allow a U.S. citizen into the country who does not have the proper documentation to return home. 12/05/2011 P*$$y so bad, if u throw it into da air, it would turn into sunshine!!! |
Thanks, that's exactly why I asked because I figured things may have changed after 9/11. Maybe if you start a thread with hotels/travel information, you can indicate at the top of the thread, that U.S. citizens need a passport to get in/out of Canada. Yes, now you do. But you can get an expedited passport if you have a schedeled date to leave the country. No, it's about resurrection... |
I believe that, because years ago, even when U.S. citizens were only required to present birth certificates to travel in/out of Canada, the customs agents still asked you random questions about where you live in the U.S. like for example, "How many baseball teams does NY have?" So I guess now since the 9/11 situation they're being real careful. Just make sure your passports are in decent condition and the print in your passport book is clear/readable. For American citizens, if you have a state driver's license or a state issued ID from your state, it's best to bring that too as another source of identification. Have fun guys! Oh, it's a very interesting question, almost a detective story... |
For travel to Canada & Mexico US citizens can just get a passport card (they're like ID Cards but national) and they scan them at the border instead of stamping your book. I think they're a little cheaper than passport books. I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. |

So far I know the floor tables are closer to the stage than these floor seats. |
Were there 'floor tables' at the W2A shows? I'd really like to see photos of that, so I can make some mental sense of it. The YouTube vids don't show a great deal... |

Look at the Seating legend to the bottom left of the seating chart;it gives you the color of the seating. The floor tables (gold color) are closer to the stage than the floor seats (sea blue color). UK artist - Daley, puts a nice flavor to r&b

I don't have a pic...it's in storage...but it's a black fedora with a white band. Still smells like him too! PS...he has a huge head! [Edited 10/31/11 19:42pm] |
WHAT??? Why would that be in storage? I would have it on a platform with a light shining on it lol. Way too tease! Please you should see mine! |
I'm gonna sound like a freak, but idc lol What does he smell like? |
are there usually seats on the "floor tables" section or do people have to stand up there?? |

In the old days I would've easily driven 7 or 8 hours to a show. But now that I have a baby boy - there is no way I will driving to Winnipeg for this show. But boy I know it's gonna be good! Have fun anyone who's going to these shows! I miss Princey Poo in his hometown. "The next time you look into the mirror,
just look at the way the ears rest next to the head; look at the way the hairline grows; think of all the little bones in your wrist. It is a miracle. And the dance is a celebration of that miracle.” - Marth |
Best seats probably in 101-107 and 120-120. you'l have a better overal look on the stage. |
Hey back at ya! I remeber the two of you from the Hamilton show. In fact I was just talking about you and your "hat" to the gals in the office yesterday. It's Cindy (the line control freak) and Jerry (dancing on stage with P to the 2 and the 4). I can't remember your names. It's hard to beleive that was 7 long years ago. Maybe we can plan on meeting up before the show in London somewhere for a drink? Counting down the days!!! |

You mean the pairs right? I would have loved to, if I wasn't going with my boyfriend… I'm not sure if I want to go for the tables or the second package which is just behind the tables though. I'm wondering which would have the best view considering the height of the stage. |
No problem! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |
The way it is described, the Purple Circle VIP is the table seats. Other than the complimentary drinks, and the intimate table setting their isn't much differnece from the VIP Package. The VIP package, as described, does not seem to be floor seats but rather lower bowl seats; first five rows. If that is the case, I would/will be going for those. You get all the gifts, and I think, a better view of the stage.

I noticed the legend but didn't had a clue what it means "Floor tables". |
Do you know where the lower bowl seats located? If they are not in the blue section "floor seats"? Would it be at the 100 Level?
|
I know... Was wondering that myself. Why are those tables closer to the stage, but does not include VIP package...
Anyway, I might go with one VIP package and then close seats for the other shows...
Is there any arena seats plan for Halifax and Ottawa so I can have an idea of which one I take the VIP package? [Edited 11/1/11 10:11am] Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

I am sorry for all you people....they are milking out the prices..... Better visit europe so you can be front row through general admission...This is crazy... |
Well, I know, that's the Prince side we hate...
Tickets for Montreal back in June were 150$ and we were 4 feets from him, front row, and it was a 2000 people capacity.. Now tickets for Bell Center are going as expensive as 272$... This is insane...

Seeing these prices I was shocked. I very much hope that this is not the real prices. Nearly 1,300$ even for the best seats - it's even more than too much. |
Hey Cindy...I remember you...didn't Jerry where teh Bermuda shorts that P made fun of? Our names were (and still are) Gus and Angela. |
Oh, I'm ready this moment to pay 272$ for each ticket, but from me to Toronto nearly 10,000 kilometers... |

Hi,
Is it better to be in front of the arrow? Where does he play in general, with the love symbol stage?
|
Anyone have any idea how big the symbol stage is? I'm wondering if floor seats would be too low. Might get a better view from some of the higher seats at the side of the stage. |

I'm sure a bunch of people will jump on to disagree... I went to 5 of the 6 NJ/NYC shows and sat on the floor twice, but I found that I had a much better view when I sat in the 100s level. On the floor, you can only see the side you're sitting on, but from one level up, you're almost eye-level with the stage and can see Prince even if he moves to the other side. I felt like I was straining to look up and see him (plus there are monitors and things on the floor, which obstruct the view down below). And if you're too close, you can't even see the screens, if they have them, when he's not on your side....
Like I said- there will be people who will disagree, but I prefer to see what's going on the whole time instead of little bits just to say I was close on the floor. [Edited 11/1/11 14:09pm] "The more I talk, the more I say, The less you seem to hear... I'm speechless in a most peculiar way..." |
Now that's one sexy stage
What are Toronto tickets going to cost? There is nothing on ticketmaster and my friend would like to know the prices before we buy them. |
I just watched the Superbowl performance and it did not look like the folks right up against the stage had a very good view. I'm thinking that the stage he will have for these shows will probably be smaller but I think I'll try to avoid floor seats.
Thanks for your input. |

as per ticketmaster, Toronto will be: |
oh no, so they must be for the 100 levels and ground, and the 67 ones for 300 levels... are you sure they are not for VIP? I highly doubt it's that expensive. [Edited 11/1/11 14:55pm] |
Yeah. it's really that expensive. |
I was just given the chance to buy two pre-sale tix to the Toronto show (via a friend of mine who is a Leafs season ticket holder), and they offered me 14 rows up, section 121 for $195 each, taxes and fees included. That's a pretty hefty ticket price, although they are definitely decent seats. My gal lives out in London, and I think I'm going to take my chances on Friday for tix for that show: the venue only seats 8,000 for hockey, and I don't think there are any "bad" seats in the bunch!
Does anyone know who is playing with Prince on this tour? Is Candy Dulfer and/or Maceo out with them? |
That's stupid! Eliminate the poor so only the rich can go??? That sounds so Princey... smh...
I asked evenko all they said was that the production cost may be a little higher...
A LITTLE HIGHER!!!??? Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |
I guess the VIP Packages are more expensive but rates are not public so far. |
Important question (well for me
I'm planning to go to more than one show, and I would like to get one VIP package, just to experience it.
Based on previous tour(s) and since the VIP package aren't sell by the venues but by a specific site, are VIP Packages are always the same price no matter the venue of the 'demand' or is it like the tickets and the prices can change?
Meaning if VIP are all at the same price, it would be logical for me to take it for the Montreal concert since the tickets are almost twice the price as the others cities I might be going....
Anybody can answer that? And do we know the VIP prices in advance at some point.. because the tickets aren't on sale at the same time nor on the same day... so if I buy a VIP package for example for Halifax and the day after realise that Montreal VIP was the sme price... thatwould suck cause I would buy a ticket for Montreal when it's really expensive...
And, finally, what was the cost of VIP like in the last tour?
Thank you if you can help me with that! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |
|
Congrats to Angela for winning the tickets! You're absolutely right - just before calling Jerry up on stage he said "hey you in the Bermuda Shorts". I just booked us in at the Delta Armouries. And we MUST meet up before the concert! |
1000txs. I may indeed decide and follow some of the recommendations given here for the VIP Seat "lower bowl" instead of the tables. Once I figure out what lower bowl means for Toronto. and where there will be beside of course when the rates are known. May be a regular floor seat is an alternative. All confusing if you never have been to an venue before.
|
Sure. I'll PM you with our info (Phone number, etc) |
can't say i'm pleased with the prices.. |
We're traveling from NY, takingm y son (6) to his first Prince show. After reading more into the presales... ive now settled on getting the best seats I can. I was hoping to get a table seat, seeing as I'll have 2 children with me (daughter 8 2nd show) however, i think these seats will be running into $1000's.
After all, it's a Prince show, there isn't a bad seat in the house |
Cindy...check your PM |
i wonder how much the vip tickets cost.. does anybody know?? so most of you prefer floor seats over 100 level seats?

And they had to be bought in pairs. "The more I talk, the more I say, The less you seem to hear... I'm speechless in a most peculiar way..." |
Hmmm… I thought only the table VIP had to be bought in pairs (so $750x2). I'm pretty sure the $500 could be purchased as singles. |
I thought it was both... Either way, my ass was in the $200 seats. "The more I talk, the more I say, The less you seem to hear... I'm speechless in a most peculiar way..." |
I don't care for the table VIP ones.. but I do hope the seats VIP ones doesn't have to be bought in pairs... Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

hotels!! i would recommend not staying right downtown toronto to save some cash since you're aleady gonna be speding that on merchandise and tix. stay close on the subway line that way it'd just be the subway down to the the ACC.
TTC cost $3 bucks each way or you can purchase a day pass and ride that mafakaaa all day long.
do not stay near the airport, is way to far from the ACC and will be a bitch to get there unless you're already driving up here from the states.
travelzoo.ca always has really good hotel deals. sign up and they'll send you a list every wednesday for instance the delta chelsea downtown had a pomo for $89 a night. sometimes you'll get deals for the sheraton, fairmont and westin- all downtown but pricey otherwise.
if you need help, PM me. I'll definitey try to help. i was in minni in october and was lost like mofoo so i know how it feels. good luck! |
Le Méridien King Edward- believe me, this is a deal! http://www.travelzoo.com/...n&es=0

Holiday Inn Express Downtown Toronto is affordable and a subway ride to the ACC (you can also walk it.. 25min) |
Anyone seen a presale code for the Victoria, BC show? Occupy Alphabet Street!
facebook.com/jackmitz twitter.com/jackmitz |
comopolitan hotel toronto is also downtown. close to ACC, you can probably walk it! |
Chill, you didn't miss anything! |
For the Toronto shows, I think 107-108 and 119-120 looks like the lower level seats, but even the ones above the red seats 207-208 and 219-220 (the turquooise blue color section 200 shown on the legend only), looks like good views too.
I bet the seats numbered under '100' will probably be the floor seats to the 'raised' floor seats. It seems the lower-level seats starts from section 101 - section 122.
This is a 360 degree Center stage image at the ACC in Toronto;assuming that's how it will be set up, since according to the seating chart, the symbol stage will be in the center of the floor.

Have done over a dozen shows with the symbol stage, I would say the prime seats are:
The front of block 120 for the view
The Blue floor at the front side of the symbol point for view +dancing.
I found the tables too close as the stage is so high.
You can't go wrong being at the front rows of 108 thru 119. The view will be fantastic. . |

sounds good and very helpful. Anyhow assuming we are talking about Toronto does anyone have an idea what it means "Lower bowl seats" and where would these seats be using the Toronto seat map. Thanks for your help. |
I just thought I'd add in case Prince's people are watching the forums...
COME PLAY IN THUNDER BAY!!!
Prince has got a 3 day break in between London, ON and Winnipeg, MB.
In that time the tour is skipping over about 2000 kilometers (ie. about 1200 miles) of Canada! Thunder Bay is right in the middle of that.
We've got a world-class venue with the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium at the address: 1 Paul Shaffer Drive (Paul Shaffer was born and raised here you know). Jeff Beck was just there October 21st rocking Thunder Bay to it's core at an extremely well-received show (some called it a "religious experience") with the great Rhonda Smith.
And on top of that Thunder Bay can boast that Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino was born here and got his first taste of promoting concerts while a student at our university, years before he moved into the big leagues putting on such events as the Welcome 2 Canada tour.
On a more personal note: By crazy luck, after 5 years of daydreaming about it (literally almost every day since I watched Purple Rain for the first time), I was able to have my first Prince concert experience from front row center in Montreux in 2009. I followed that up about 3 months later by driving 6 hours from Thunder Bay to Minneapolis for the October 2009 Paisley Park concert. I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone here: Both were life changing experiences. Unfortunately, since then Prince hasn't toured close enough to me that I could afford to go see him. I plan on driving the 7 hours to Winnipeg to see the December 8th show, but if Prince could come play Thunder Bay (and give me a little notice so I don't go to Winnipeg too early!) it would make a dream of mine come true. Plus, I'm sure it would make dreamers out of the many people of Thunder Bay who, due to our remote location, have never had the opportunity to witness Prince's awe-inspiring talents firsthand.
And besides, in Canada, Thunder Bay is the closest city to Minnesota. |
And the key word is "private" "The more I talk, the more I say, The less you seem to hear... I'm speechless in a most peculiar way..." |
I would even settle for a Paisley Park pre-show |
VIP Nation has been updated with onsale times.

I don t know what to do table or first 5 row???
who is coming to MTL |
Will they not let you purchase tickets for the specific sections? Not all seats in the sections listed are equal in terms of the view. Man this is so last minute. The only info so far is for Toronto :\ |
OHHH! He's coming to Winnipeg finally~Last time he was here, 2002... I AM SO EXCITED! To all my classmates who make fun of me for liking Prince... I LOVE YOU PRINCEE NO MATTER WHAT! |
I think I was looking at the toronto, but here is the lowdown no matter the venue.
First of all, Prince plays 80% standing in the center of the symbol, but facing the point of the symbol. Look at the superbowl for reference. So, avoid seats around the "back" or round head of the symbol.
Secondly, the stage is 6 foot high. The front rows of tier one will be level with Prince, the floor seats are low.
Sitting in the VIP tables, you are looking up at 45 degrees to see prince. Sure he is real close, but i found them a little to clinical and low.
The standard floor seats around the point of the symbol give a better view and is great for dancing. The Floor seats around the bulbus end of the symbol are terrible. You are looking up, and Prince rarely goes round there. They should almost be considered restricted view, despite the cost.
You can't go wrong getting a standard seat on the floor or lower sides in the 180 degrees at the pointed end.
If you get to chose the sides, then Prince mostly goes to the "trumpet" side, as the piano occupies the "curl" side. But I have sat in both and they are good.
Most importantly, don't panic. The symbol stage in the middle is large, and in any medium sized area you will get a good view, and most importantly, a good vibe. The stage and lighting are excellent. . |
sorry I keep hogging this thread!

I went to six W2A concerts which had the symbol stage and I can tell you hands down that close loge seats on the side at the middle of the symbol beat any floor seats in front of the stage. You can see everything with seats on the side of the middle section of the symbol--elevated seats, that is! The symbol stage is really tall and tall speakers block viewing at certain front views for the floor. Good luck to all who go to see W2C! No, it's about resurrection... |
what the hell .. where are prices?? lol |
Thanks! That's helpful. I went to one show in NYC, but I was a little too far for my taste. Saw him in Montreal this Summer (front row!!), so now I think I'll go with the W2A VIP package (but not the tables). |

I hope you enjoy and get your money's worth out of the VIP tix. They were too expensive for my taste but I got very good seats to all the shows I went to see, not that far from the stage. The best seats I had were at the last two LA concerts--again loge section, middle of the symbol on the side. At once show, I was the only one standing and dancing in my section at the beginning of the concert when Prince walked over to the piano side and was peering into the audience. I was waving my hands and dancing my ass off and we made eye-contact and he acknowledged me with a wink and a nod while he was trying to get my section to get up off their asses and dance! No, it's about resurrection... |

i feel like he decided to bring his show to canada because of the shows he did in montreal. i heard he had a great time there and the energy from the crowd was crazy.. |
It was
But that doesn't mean we have gifts.... VIP prices for Montreal came in..
750$ and 500$ just like Toronto... d'uh... will take VIP in another city then... if only they would give the VIP prices for Halifax I could make my decision before tickets go on sale!!! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

Live Nation answered me on Facebook regarding prices for Halifax, it's $500 and $300. No details on which sections yet. |

I'm dissappointed to see that some sections they indicate as W2C VIP Packages seem to be towards the back of the stage. Makes me think twice about getting the VIP now …and I'm STILL waiting for the details for Halifax :\ Not to impressed right now. |

That,s it folks, London and Toronto are on sale!
As for Halifax, Thanks for the VIP infos, but I'll have to go with Ottawa for the VIP since I can't access the site for normal tickets on capitaltickets.ca.. I created an account and all but everytime I try to sign in it says error or some weird typos... damn, can't get to the page.

By all accounts, Prince travels to that side more than the other. So if Prince is your cup of tea, you should be pretty happy over there. |
Why am I still feeling so nervous? I thought i'd be jumping for joy but.... I'm bloody nervous!?!?!? |
Seems the VIP are not too popular as there are lots still there and they have been on sale for an hour now.
|
In NY you could select you VIP seats prior to booking. As you couldn't for this show I bit the bullet & booked a table. It's been a dream of mine to take my kids. At least this way i'll know they'll have room to dance.... what bull**** just fell from my mouth... I booked them because I want to lick the mans face... |
Yeah, Ottawa VIP are not even on the floor, but it's the only one I can go, Montreal is too expensive and Halifax i won't get there on time to enjoy the VIP benefits (18 hours of bus, I arrive 1h30 before show starts!)

Let's hope so!!! I gues they give the seats from the time you ordered... (well, I can always hope) so that way I'd probably have a good place! hahaha OMG I'm nervous! 300$ and I don't even know where I'll be!

I'm so tempted to get the table VIP right now (buying for Halifax at 3:00)—I know some say the view is limited, but I've seen him twice this year already, including W2America in NYC, so I'm really tempted to experience the tables for myself. |

Ordered in between 10 and 10:30am:
London
Section 103 (right beside VIP). Total cost for two tickets $309 (Canadian, I believe)
Also picked up some cheap seats for both Toronto shows. Friday: Section 323, Row 13... $141 total for two tickets. Saturday: Section 321, Row 15... Same price as above.
I'm pretty happy so far! But yes, it can be a stressful experience trying to decide whether to keep your selection or try for something better.

Well, I just bought a 13th row seat in section 117 for Van, which looks to have a great view. I tried again, and was offered a 3rd row floor seat in Section E, but I have no idea which one that is. I have a feeling that I'll be able to see Prince better from section 117 anyway. Still, I am so tempted to buy the floor seat... Wanna hear me sing? |
Ah, I see, I got section B, Row 4, Seats 1-2. Seems pretty good I guess... |
I know just how you feel. The VIP floor seats are amazing or terrible. I'd hate to pay $500 & be behind the loop of the symbol. I managed 3 NY shows & 1 NJ. One all of these he invited the table to dance on stage (i managed to sneak on one night) I'm hoping for a little f the same this time!
Good luck x |
O.K., that's REALLY strange because at one point, I did request "Seats Beside or Behind the Stage" just to see what would happen and it came back with a message that said there were NO seats available! To MJ: "You Rock My World, You Know You Did. . ."

Just scored Floor seats for Victoria, BC!!! Section Front C, row 2. Sounds good to me!! Occupy Alphabet Street!
facebook.com/jackmitz twitter.com/jackmitz |
Called ahead to my local ticket master outlet-to see if I could buy tickets to the Victoria bc show-they said yes. I went down there and waited till 10 am to only find out that they cannot sell me any Victoria tickets. So, I came back home and bought them on line about 1040am. Crappy seats thanks to my local ticket master. Yes, there will be a few letters and e-mails written for that no excuse for mistake. Thanks to the dill hole who said yes I could buy the tickets there. (If you can buy tickets at the tickmaster locations you can pick seats-thus the reason for me going to ticketmaster.)
Did I mention that I have a pulled groin muscle and I have to use a walker to get around. So to say I'm not pleased is an understatement!!!

Thanks for all the great advice and tips, y'all!
I just picked up two tix for LONDON, section 7 on the floor, row J, seats 7/8. I'm not sure whether or not they start counting rows at AA at the very front, or if they start fresh at Row A in the section, but I think they're pretty decent seats. Cost was $309 for the pair, all in. I'll know exactly where we're sitting in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, I also have two tickets somewhere in sections 108-111. (Again, don't know where exactly.) The sightlines are probably better than the floors, but we'll lose some dancing room, I'm sure! I'm also encouraged by the fact that the Labatt Centre is a small venue (8,000 seats for hockey), and based on the photo posted here previously and the seat map, I'm guessing that the point of the symbol will come out to the start of the penalty boxes i.e. closer than in the photo of the typical Labatt Centre layout.
The bottom line is that I'm going to have ONE PAIR of tix to sell for the London concert, so if anyone is interested, drop me a line at contactross at rogers dot com!
BONUS: The pair that is in section 108-111 comes with a an invite to an exclusive pre-party invitation! Here's the description of the party:
Purple Rain Pre-party Package includes lower level ticket, live DJ and Funky Photo Booth, hot and cold appetizers served, 2 drinks per person. Grab your umbrellas and step into the ‘Purple Rain’!
I think we paid something like $400 for the two tickets ($141.25+ each) and the party passes. Again, not sure which tickets we're parting with yet, but please let me know if I can be of any help to anyone! (I'm based in Toronto.) |
Your feeling is correct--you will be able to see him better from Section 117. And I'll see you there! I got Section 115, Row 2 for Vancouver |
Well it will suck a bit if I get seated in section 25 or 5, but I completed the order for Halifax W2C VIP Package in a personal record-time 2 minutes! So fingers crossed that it was fast enough for me to end up in section 23 or 7! |
If that's so, well I am SoOoooo happy
|
Well I picked up some floor seats for 150 apiece in Saskatoon, Row 8. I live in Calgary but a friend said he'd see him.
Then it's off to Edmonton for a VIP ticket by myself. The tables were already sold out, so I got the lower bowl VIP tix right beside the stage. I wanted that shirt!
I'll be by myself, but the show will be too great for me to be self conscious, lol.
Also, holy hell at Vancouver/Toronto VIP tables for 750 a ticket. That's insane. I thought the 525 in Edmonton was nuts. [Edited 11/4/11 14:48pm] "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. This sucks, I'm currently in Detroit and I wish I could stay to go see him in Canada. I mean its right there lol |
I will be taking my wife and two kids to the Ottawa show Section 117. Can't believe I'll be seeing Prince in Canada and my brother in Chicago is still waiting. |
Damn... Those are cheap tickets! In Winnipeg they're charging over $1000 for floor seats To all my classmates who make fun of me for liking Prince... I LOVE YOU PRINCEE NO MATTER WHAT! |
Got my VIP Table tickets earlier this morning for the London JLC show.
Nice thing about this venue is that there are NO VIP tables behind the stage since the symbol stage is situated at the end of the arena and not the middle so we're guaranteed tables in front of the stage regardless!!!
Being from London I've been to the JLC many a time (just not for a concert) and there really isn't a bad seat in the house...but sometimes the acoustics is 'lacking'. My wife and daughter went to the Selena Gomez concert there last week and they were on the floor and the stage set-up wasn't that high, so I'm thinking that the W2C stage will be a somewhat scaled down version of the one used at bigger venues like the ACC and in Montreal.
If anyone wants any advice on where to stay or where to eat/drink before or after the concert let me know. The JLC is located dead smack in the middle of downtown and there are plenty of restaurants/bars across the street and around the corner from the venue. Parking is pretty plenty and easy to find within a few blocks of the JLC and cheap (you can park for for free at most street meters after 6PM!)
BTW...they opened up the lower and upper bowl seating behind the stage as well. Must mean that ticket sales are going well!
Cheers O(+-> [Edited 11/4/11 22:14pm] |

I am waiting in the virtual line up for the Montreal ticket sale...
While I am excited and happy to see Prince again...I can't help but be dissapointed with the ticket prices.
The prices are way too expensive! 272$ for seat in the reds...You buy 2 tickets you're down close to 600$ !!! What the heck is this !?
I remember Prince saying in an interview not too long ago that he wanted ticket prices to be fair so everyone could have a chance to see his shows. What happened to that ????? |

my seats are pretty good.. they are in section 124 row H..
i bought tickets for a little cheaper than the most expensive ones in the red..
i tried a few times to get the best front ones in the reds.. but they would chose the seats on the wrong side.... didn't want to watch a show with his back turned on me.. |
i used all my chances by trying to get front row seats then i was like ok nevermind those seats... i had my second laptop ready to buy the tickets i have now.. so yea thats my story.. hope u all have a great time.. and prince thank u for coming back!! |

I got NORD row AA seat 3, I am not sure exactly where that is, but I think it is first row of the floor section arrow side where the point of the arrow is. Time to book my plane ticket from NYC!!!!!!! |
Yes, AA is first row, I called Centre Bell just to make sure. I have an AA as well, in the 115 section. We will be floor level ! |
Good, nobody in front of me then!
|
Yes... But I'm wondering now if the AA seats are not too close from the floor seats. As soon as HE will be on stage, I'm really hoping the view won't be hidden by the people on the floor ... |
Section 115, Rangée B, Sièges 1-2 |
hope I m not too far??? what do U think
|
Mine are on the floor, but you are in the first row off the floor so I am sure they are slightly elevated. You should be fine and have a better view of the stage from there. I am tall so no problem here.
|
Just an FYI for those attending the London, ON show. I just picked up my tickets from the Joh Labatt Centre/London, ON and I asked the girl if she had a more detailed seating map. What she showed me is different than that on the JLC website. The symbol stage is still at one end, however their map shows VIP tables on both sides at the back of the stage as well, not just out front. |
The tables are around the whole stage. Front and back. This is the map from VIP Nation. They are selling the tables. They should know.
|
What about section 118, row 10 is that a good spot? Air Canada Centre told me it was, does anyone else know? |
That's actually pretty good news for the rest of us. It means that the stage will have to be a little bit more towards the centre of the arena, as opposed to nestled into the end! :>) |
and also that you don't have to buy them in pairs! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |
That is THE best sweet spot to get down. Of all my nights in London, they spot was the funkiest. Great view and really energy. You'll be shocked how close you are when you see it in the flesh. I would take there over VIP tables any day.
I'm jealous now. Prince, surely you got your Londons confused, get back over here! . |
The girl on the phone this morning told me the AA seats are floor level (they are the platinum seats at hockey games), but they definitely are amazing seats, and if my 5'4 is too small, I will stand on the top of the seat all night long |
Right. Like I wouldn't have minded seats in section 102. That sucks. To MJ: "You Rock My World, You Know You Did. . ."

Geez i'm so excited ! This is my first Prince show. I was able to score probably the best nosebleed seat (Since it's all i can afford). section 319 first row |
This will be my first concert too.
Hmm, section 319, eh? Have you ever kissed another woman on the dance floor? |
The purple god has spoken when he assigned me that section. |
Man, this is a long time coming! Only thing that would top this news, is Shelby J not on this tour 3121 #1 THIS YEAR |
Hope Sheila will be there.......... |
I wasn't gonna say it, but since you did... |
She will... she must.... |

Okay. Still, though.... |
I just find she really dominates.
BUT:
Back on topic, does anyone know if the Air Canada Centre has lockers, or somesuch? It's gonna be cold outside, me and my peeps are taking the subway, and no one wants to bring their big coats into the arena! |
My advice would be to ask ACC directly on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/...nadaCentre they always reply quickly during the week. They've answered all questions I have asked. |
It'l Beautiful, loved, and blessed. |
Anyone wondering about the VIP Packages and Tables, I spoke to VIP Nation today. They said thay an itinary will be emailed 5 days before the show with information for pick up locations and times etc.
Gorgonzolo [Edited 11/7/11 15:35pm] |
Anyone else worried this tour may be cancelled? I bought tix to Saskatoon and Edmonton and every now and then check in on ticketmaster, and it's still easy to get very good seats, and none of the VIP stuff is sold out except for Edmonton tables. But that might even be an error, because I've never seen it for sale.
I hope sales are okay. He may have overcharged for the tickets. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan

Yes I think it was a little overpriced. And all that space wasted on the floor ... There could have been hundreds of us dancing instead on sitting at tables ... Just my 2 cents ... Chatou |
Naw, all will be fine with this tour. Don't listen to me. I can't even get my own shit worked out. |
does anyone know if they will sell merchandise at the show or are they sold exclusively to vip |
Montreal seems to have sold very well, some sections are sold out and the entire front part of the floor is sold out. |
Hopefully you're right, but a lot of tickets were snapped up by those low life legal scalpers and are trying to be flipped for profit, so there's no telling how many of those tickets were actually bought by fans.
Edit: Case in point, bought two tickets for 150 dollars each to the Saskatoon show on November 4th. I got row 8. It's now November 7th and I searched for the same tickets. Only down to row 16 now. I don't know how many seats there are, but when other big name acts sell out shows in an hour, that's not encouraging. [Edited 11/7/11 20:20pm] "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. VIP have a store all to themselves but have no fear, there is plenty of merchandise to go round. I'd recommend getting it prior to the show, the lines are CRAZY after. At least they were in NY.
Both NY & NJ had several stalls selling a variety of stuff. This time, I want a Tambourine but i still don't want to pay $100.... i'll just clap x
Have a great time x |
alright thx!! |
Hi all, new here. I'm very excited as this is my first Prince concert. I missed his concert when he was in Toronto several years ago and I was under the impression that was his last tour ever. So when I heard he was on tour again I made sure I got tickets to the Toronto show. I got section 102 row 6. Is this good to see everything happening on the stage? |

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that the stage is still nestled at the end of the arena, but there are VIP tables at the back of the stage. The stage didn't seem to be any closer to the center than the website set-up shows...just added VIP tables at the back. |
Over priced... maybe. Sitting at tables??? Not me, I love the VIP floor seats as you actually have room to dance & with the table, they throw in 'free' drinks (like we didn't pay for them several times over). Each to their own i guess. I'm taking both my children on 26th. Otherwise i wouldn;'t have bothered with the table, they're 6 & 8 I thought this was the perfect excuse to get a table. After seeing 5 shows in NY & NJ, he allowed all the table guests to dance on the stage towards the end of the show... if youre there on the 26th & this happens, look for me, ill be chasing Prince back stage
Have a wonderful night everyone x |
Damn. Now he booked a Calgary show. I bought VIP in Vancouver cause he wasn't coming to Calgary, now I need to buy Calgary seats too. Gorgonzolo. |

Not fair that I should have to spend extra travel/gas/food/hotel money to go to Edmonton to use my ticket because of this extremely unexpected move.

Quite sure Prince cancelled his last Saskatoon date in 2001 or so, I saw him in Regina, but with no Regina date set, maybe ticket sales will be better. I will go to Winnipeg, won't hold my breath for an aftershow like he did last time he was in the Peg (LeRendezvous). Has he been doing any aftershows on Welcome to... tour?

That's disappointing. I was going to see Elton John for the first time in September, and the show was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts...
But what if you can't get VIP tickets to another show? Do they have to be VIP?
"The more I talk, the more I say, The less you seem to hear... I'm speechless in a most peculiar way..." |
"poor ticket sales" Don't listen to me. I can't even get my own shit worked out. |
I'm guessing that the Saskatoon show was cancelled because it was scheduled on a Sunday. How many times has the 'lil guy played on a Sunday recently? I can't think of any. Occupy Alphabet Street!
facebook.com/jackmitz twitter.com/jackmitz |
The only reason I got VIP for Saskatoon was because I couldn't get a lower bowl ticket that I liked even though I started right when tickets went on sale. I hate ticketmaster... kept giving me the same damn seat behind the band. No options. I panicked when I searched for 2 instead of 1 and the lower bowl was sold out. Be damned if I was going to sit in crappy seats.
Another former orger is out airfare as he can't cancel his ticket. I've got a $100 ticket for Winnipeg now that I don't need since I managed to get a floor seat after some creative financial manouvering this morning. Otherwise I would have had to wait the two weeks for the refund to show up and try again. I was just guessing that it would be the same scenario... that I would have to spend the money since tickets by that point would have been on sale for 24 days.
I think his table seats probably weren't selling for our market. The concert might not have been a sell out... but I think tickets (other than vip) were selling decent. This is the third time he's cancelled Saskatoon though. I think there was a fair amount of skepticism that he would show. People holding off on buying till closer to show date? Local hype could have been better.
I'm still going to have my once in a lifetime moment. I'm just going to have to drive 8 hours to get there.
|
Any idea who is opening up for Prince at his Toronto shows? Or is it going to be 4 hours of non-stop Prince?
If I recall correctly, he had Mint Condition, E. Spadling and others join him on the Welcome 2 America tour. Is anyone joining him for the Welcome 2 Canada tour? |
Got my ticket for Halifax yesterday and my ticket for Montreal last week... Yaaay!
Last one to get is for Ottawa but since it's a VIP and I can't know where I'm seated before the actual show.. I guess I won't recieve it by mail, but only when I get there, right? Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |

I have the same issue, I'm looking into it now....I'll update you when I know more. |
Uhm... aren't any tickets left at Ticketmaster site? |
You are right...there are quite alot of good seats left..but i dont want to pay $270-
actually i would pay that...lol..but my GF is on a budget, maybe i can talk her into nose bleed section?
the VIP tickets sound awsome...anybody going that route? cha-ching!~~ |
I pushed the boat out & got a table for the 26th. Im taking my kids & feel safer with teh space they bring. I'm now i NEED a ticket for the 25th, nose bleed is all $ I have left
The thing with Prince, no matter where you sit, it will be amazing.
I have an idea for you though.... treat your girlfriend? surprise her? Leave her at home? I'm leaving my entire family at home on the 25th. The way i see it, Prince was here first. |
You're so right! |
Hi !
I don't think he did any after shows here in Los Angeles.
Too bad he cancelled Saskatoon; I was really looking forward to seeing him again.

Sorry, Vancouver orgers. I was looking forward to meeting you, but after hearing about the Tacoma show, I am opting for that one instead. Wanna hear me sing? |
Just booked my bed at the Youth Hostel in Halifax!! (Yeah I'm going cheap on location, don't need an hotel room, just a place to sleep after the show.. and I LOVE Youth Hostels!)
This is sooo exciting! I was suppose to arrive in Halifax an hour and a half before the show (with the bus from Quebec *18 hours of bus!*) but it's just too short.. in case something happens with the bus or whatever... So I'll arrive on the 29th and be able to do a little tourism there before the show!
I think it's adorable that just on the corner of the Metro Center street, there's a street called ''Prince St''

1 week left ..... I AM LOOKING FOR USED PRINCE LIVE OUT LOUD WEST COAST CONCERT TICKETS ... let me know if you want to sell them after the shows / roaldbakker@hotmail.com |
Hey fellow Prince fans, I have a question about the songs Prince will be singing on this Canadian tour, specifically his Edmonton date. A friend of mine said Prince won't be playing any of his older songs and will instead be playing stuff from 2000 and on. But I searched what his set lists were for recent concerts and it doesn't seem like that. I also haven't read anything about prince refusing to play his older stuff. So basically, my question is what kind of songs will he be performing? |
check out his set list from 'W2A". He played it all & made sure we loved every second of it. So much so, I followed up with 3 more shows, a year later, i couldn't resist, flights booked & 2 more shows in Toronto. You are in for the time of your life, whatever he plays x
Thank you prince x For a life time of joy & pleasure x |
Ugh.
So, instead of buying great seats the moment they went on sale, I trusted my friend's 'connection' at Ticketmaster to get us even better seats. Finally got them today, and they are: Section 118, Row 14 ($268 x 4). Here's the map:
So, anyone who's seen the Welcome 2 America shows, go on and break my heart: how shitty are these seats? |
This site!!! [Edited 11/18/11 20:07pm] 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment.......Seattle ORG meet up 8-2-13 |
Prince spends the most of the show center stage (at base of circle) facing toward the arrow, he also spends a great time on the horn (where you will see his face more), other time on the curly part. But there are big tv screens and he occasionally goes around the circle/and front arrow part. I would say they are ok seats (if the seats are close to the 119 section). 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment.......Seattle ORG meet up 8-2-13 |

This is probably a dumb question but generally when is the best time to pick up some merchandise? I usually do not bother but, darn it, Prince needs my money! I don't want to have to look after a bunch of stuff during the concert but I imagine that after the show there will be very long lines. Are there any tips you veteran concertgoers can give me or am I just going to have to suck it up and suffer through masses of people in order to secure my swag? |
I'd say before the show, the lines after are insane. I'd buy early & wear it during the show! At least you stand a chance of getting what you want. I missed out on the Tee i wanted last year, at 3 shows. I'll be holding that tee by 730pm on the 25th. I'm not leaving without it.

I was wondering if any purple peeps from Montreal had any recommendations on restaurants, places to stay, etc. Three of us are traveling from the US (Maine) to catch yet another mind blowing show. We have wanted to go to Montreal for quite some time as we've always heard great things about the city. It took Prince to give us that extra motivation.
P.S. Prince, We love Maceo, Candy, and Mike P. If you would invite them to play with you, we'll pay for their hotel rooms! |
I can't help for hotels since I'm from Quebec city (thanks for your compliment on my city, it IS beautiful! <3 and I totally agree about the fact it'd be great if Prince played here!
But for the restaurant, would be glad if you wanted to join us. Couple of fans (about 10 at the moment) will come at the Arlequino restaurant in Montreal, the restaurant is just 5 mins walking from the Bell Center.Made a little event page on Facebook for it (it's also on the Fans gathering section)

Gorgonzolo |
I am coming up from Chicago to the London show. I got my tickets in the mail today, not your typical looking ticketmaster tickets and I can't remember what the tickets looked like when I went to see the White Stripes in London. Can anyone post a photo of their tickets so I can see they are like mine and feel better about buying off stubhub? |
I don't have time to scan in my tickets right now, but they're not your typical TicketBastard variety. They have "John Labatt" in faint lettering in the background, and mine has an ad for Pizza Pizza on the back. Sound familiar? |
Okay, it's finally hit me:
I'm gonna see Prince live for the first time in 18 years!!!

I dont get mine until i arrive but.... i used ticketmaster & allshows.com for 4 shows in NY & they looked totally different but both worked. Hope this is enough reassurance.

Nice to meet you Louise, I'm Jordan!
Gonna go look for this info now... |
Any speculation ?
I hope it's not something like ''I'm gonna play 20ten in it's full lenght just for you canadian !'' |
I would actually enjoy that provided that wasn't all that he played. How long is 20Ten? Forty minutes? That would be a very short concert. |
I'm thinking he might announce some guests or opening band, maybe afterparties in Toronto… I so wish he'd have an after-show in Halifax though! |

hmmm for the most part. These aren't like the normal ticketmaster tickets I get, they usually have yellow as a prominent color. But it does have the faint John Labatt on it. I don't have them on me, so I'll have to check the back later. They seem more like the tickets I get through alternative sources for Chicago shows. Like ticketweb or etix... I'm most likely just paranoid since its the most I've ever spent on tickets. |

So on twitter, Dr Funkenberry is reporting that after show tickets, for Toronto, go on sale at 10 am Thursday morning. But doesn't say where or how much. Anybody know?? Gorgonzolo. |
I don't know where [they'll be on sale] but I think earlier I read the first 50 were $60 and then up from there. [Edited 11/23/11 22:15pm] 12/05/2011 P*$$y so bad, if u throw it into da air, it would turn into sunshine!!! |
Y'all have a great time seeing P in Canada!
Wanted to hit Toronto, but timing-wise couldn't make it work this time. |
Yeah.. says the first 50 tickets will be at 60$...the next 100 or so at 75$...and the rest are 100$..
Waiting for 10am to see if it's only for Toronto Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either. |
So far I know that Maceo Parker is coming on the Welcome 2 Canada tour (hubby is STOKED about that one). Does anyone know who else is coming along on the tour? Or is it all a surprise? |
No other news for now I think... So Glad for Maceo though!
I'd loooove if Sheila E. joined the tour!!!! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

So for those who already experienced the VIP tickets.. It says you can enter the venue earlier..
So how early is it, at what time should I arrive at the venue? I don't want to arrive at 2pm and be told I have to wait until 6pm...
Also, does early entry can = soundcheck?
So, if the show is at 8pm, at what time should I get there?
Thanks for your help Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

Well, I don't live in Canada or USA either. But don't you get an e-mail from Livenation with info on which time you get in etc? Mostly Livenation send you an e-mail couple of days before with info about what time the doors open, etc. I think with early access it's mostly something about an 1 hour or 30 minutes.. but I'm not sure. Otherwise if I were you I should e-mail Livenation. |
THANK YOU!!!! |
Thanks a lot, I'll check that Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

Thanks for the tip about the afterjam. Just got confirmation I'll be there. I've never been to one. Pretty exciting stuff!! |
Very suspect wording in the flyer. Is it worth another $120 to be rolled into going to a club for an afterparty? |
I just wanted to tell everyone going to the shows in Canada to have a funky good time! I feel your excitement.
I'm in Connecticut and almost bought tickets for tomorrow's show in Toronto but didn't and of course now I'm sorry. I have seen him 7 times though, the last time being last December at Madison Square Garden, so I can't complain. Still hurts every time I miss him though. Could never get enough!
Let us know the details! |
I just bought a table seat at the show...I said go big or go home. .I started a thread in the meetup area about having some company. I'd love to meet some of y'all!!!!
[Edited 12/5/11 8:11am] |
I called Live Nation, and spoke to them about this, after I ordered my tickets. They told me that 5 days before the show you will receive an email with the itinary and contact person to meet at the venue. All info will be in the email.
Gorgonzolo |
Thank you! My VIP show is in 8 days, hope I'll get it! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

So I haven't been to the post office in a few weeks. Figured I should make sure the ticket has actually been delivered lest I have to burn shit down... & yeah it was totally there

What an awesome, funktacular evening. I hope everybody had/has as much fun as we did, last night!
|
JEALOOUUUSS!!!! How was the show? How was the security? |
The show was WONDERFUL, although shorter than the night before, I hear. Also, I saw a setlist from the night before, and I'd say the setlist for my show was at least 50% different! But he opened my show with 'Gold' (which he didn't play the night before), so I'm happy.
Also, I gotta say I'm sold on Shelby and Andy Allo. They come across as just lovely people. So do the other two backup singers.
Security were very nice, though we got a little speech on the way in about 'no cameras'. I guess they say that because pretty much everyone nowadays has cameras! People around me were snapping away like mad, and no one took issue with it.
As for trying to get closer to the floor, I didn't try that because I had my little boy with me. So, your mileage may vary! Where are you going to see him/them? |
Aww, I'm just trying to picture it lol. I'm glad you had a good time
I'm just waiting for him to announce more dates at my end of the world! I live on the East coast (Boston). So if he does you can definitely count on me buying a V.I.P. table. But I have a question for the tables, do you know if they had a good view? Cause I think I remember hearing that someone said they could barely see him because the stage was so tall |
Interesting vantage point! I had wondered/worried with you on how the view would be from that angle but the seats look great! |
Yes, the seats were actually just fine. Prince kept himself movin' around enough that I never felt like we were always 'behind' him. Plus, the white square you can see at the top of the photo was the bottom of one of the big screens, so between the two I felt like we got the full effect!

Wow, I can't believe the tour is already under way. Did anyone here have VIP tickets? How was the treatment? What kind of shirt did you get? How early did you get in? Any pre-show or sound check?
What kind of merch was for sale? Any VIP exclusive merch for sale? "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan

I have VIP for victoria...Ill have to wait and see I guess!
|
Toronto had no opening act or sound check, we didn't arrive until 7.45 (we took our children) I'm glad we didn't go early as he was an hour late coming out, both nights
No special merc. Much better 'goodie bags' than the NY shows though! I'm not going to spoil your surprise but make sure you look through it before you buy anything! Same tees as NY shows, i'd but the official W2A too as P's pic does not appear on the VIP one.
2 free drink vouchers...
Have a funky time. |
Well dear Prince,
I just got on the bus to Halifax so you better not cancel that one cause that 18 hours bus ride just to get there ain't refundbable!
There you go,
See ya there! Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

You got there at 7:45, but what time was the show scheduled to start, and what time were VIP people allowed to enter?
Thanks for the info. Going to the calgary show here.
Also, you mentioned no special merch, but what kind of regular merch were they selling? Were there Raspberry Berets for sale (someone mentioned those on the W2A tour and I want to buy one for my sis). Associated artist CDs, posters, anything else cool? I don't care too much about clothes... [Edited 11/29/11 0:47am] "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. The show was sched' to start at 8 but he didn't come out until 9. We could have gone in at 6.45. Thankfully we didn't! If you can find out about opening acts before you go, otherwise there is no point going early. We sat around for over an hour waiting, happy it wasn't 3 hours!
They have the Berets ($40). Don't remember seeing special tee's outside of the 'welcome to canada' ones. Poster comes with the VIP package...
The merch is the same at every show ive been to, berets, symbols, tambourines, leggins.... blah blah blah.
You'll have a blast
|
I wish i could see him again! |

Prince plays local club aftershow. |
I was hoping to catch one of the Toronto shows but didn't happen. However, I see that he's returning to the States, playing Tacoma WA, on 12-19. Hopefully he'll make his way to Detroit! Check out my tribute to Prince

We travelled from Detroit to the London show--only 2.5 hours. GREAT show! People have been saying it was better than the one in Toronto. I hope he gets to Detroit soon, too. To MJ: "You Rock My World, You Know You Did. . ."

Well guys, the WELCOME 2 CANADA tour is getting near its end, tonight is the last show!
I want to say I'm incredibly grateful to Prince and the NPG for this canadian tour. Didn't expect to see him that soon after the Metropolis this summer.
Prince and the NPG made thousands of people happy in the past weeks ''from sea to sea'', thousands of people who were able to enjoy... yes
Been able to see 3 shows of this tour, Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa, I've been blessed with high quality concerts, some better than others, but still, a fantastic time in each of them, with different people and different experiences. I enjoyed them all. Now I'm broke, I'm exhausted, but hey I did it! Crazy me!
I do wish he comes back to Montreal, maybe even my city, Quebec (that would be awesome) but I do need a break so I hope he'll also take a break, visit some of the cities that haven't seen him for years, even decades, and then come back to make me realise my dream, once again
So, Thanks Prince and the NPG for the tour, we had a perfect time!
Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

What's with the lack of bootlegs thus far. Was security that tight? |
maybe the setlists were too boring to tape it.
part from "a million days" & "get wild" there were no surprises at all on this tour.. it probably was big fun for the canadians but here in Europe & the USA as well these were "been there done that" show in my opinion |
