Dearly Beloved....we are gathered here to witness our guitar playing dreams come true!

Orgers and all, I was the guy lucky enough to play a guitar solo at Malahide Castle on the fabled 30 year old Telecaster that all of us have looked at longingly for so long. I can honestly say it was one of the most exciting, life-defining moments of my existence...want to share it with me?

While dancing on the stage I noticed one of His plectrums on the floor, never to be put off getting a souvenir I picked it up. Prince noticed me do it and grinned. Later on I can remember him stopping the band and beckoning me over, the next thing I new he was putting the guitar over my shoulders. I bent down to pick up a plectrum, looked up and saw 20,000 faces looking back at the me. I completely forgot how to play the guitar at all. Luckily I managed to put something together before returning the guitar but if I'm honest I've no idea what I played or how it sounded, I was simply too engrossed in the moment.

It was all over too soon but you were all kind enough to give me cheer when I came off the stage which was very kind!

The last week has felt a little surreal, its very rare for any of us to truly have a dream come true but I did! I catch myself sitting at work with a big grin on my face when I think about it.

Thanks for all the positive comments from you guys. I hope you enjoyed the fun as much as I did (although I doubt it!) If any of you have any videos of me playing I'd love to see them as I have no idea what I played. Did Prince and the band give a positive reaction?

Please orgnote me if any of you have videos you would be willing to send me.

Thanks guy!

Congrats! I love Prince's reaction of disbelief of what he just saw you do in the next picture

Have to say I kinda laughed when you went face first onto the run-way when you got on stage....Reason for laughter is that I know I'd do the same!!!!....but then when you got handed the guitar....well I would do THAT...(I'd break it in an all to frim grip)....great job and everyone I was with was so jealous.

Ha! I remember slipping over and thinking "God I hope no one noticed!" and then the crowd cheered and Prince told me to be careful! Damn!

That sounds truly AWESOME. Thanks for sharing. I am so happy for you that you got to experience such an unforgettable moment. I know what you mean about how surreal it feels because the emotion will definitely linger. I know all about the big grin. I had my own P experience nearly six years ago in Vegas, and I still have that surreal feeling whenever I think about it. I usually don't even share it with other people because I don't think they believe me. Thankfully my sister was there with me so we get to relive it with each other every time we talk about it. Our moment was basically in private but yours was public so you have 20,000 people and pics to vouch for you. lol

So, again, I am truly excited for you. Hold onto it. cool

You sir are one of the luckiest men alive... biggrin

And fair play for still managing to play. I play a bit myself, but I think I would have frozen on stage!! Prince looked impressed, what on earth did you play?!

To be honest I think Prince was humouring me and my random thrashing. Life-defining moment for me!

Definately mate!!! As someone else said, I'd get that photo printed off somewhere good and whack it in a massive purple picture frame. There's probably only a handful of people alive that have strummed that guitar!!

Mate you were fantastic and a total joy to watch- from the moment you fell, I cringed but the crowd and p were caring towards you, then you're dancing (with real ease, like you looked so relaxed and un-self consious), then next thing you know I look up and you're playing p's guitar!

I gotta hand to ya, I'm scared to go up there the fact that you did all of that in such a relaxed way was one of the show's highlights for me.I loved the exchange you and p had when you gave his guitar/plectrum back.

When you started playing I think it shocked everyone (in a really good way), but don't worry you rocked it dude!

It was a magic moment and I've been to many gigs , a real treat to see and I'm glad you shared it on the org. We're you from anyhow?, I was with a small group of Indian guys and we were loving it! Hi five!

I'm sure it's a moment/experience to savour forever! Nice one. Uber cool.

Wow... wow... wow.. WOOOOOWWWW!!

You got to play his Hohner! ... and not just that... you got to play it during one of his shows!! eek faint

For sure a DREAM COME TRUE! biggrin I play guitar myself so I can imagine so well how you must be feeling about this (what did you play by the way??).

In fact, it was P, amongst other great players who inspired me to master it as well. And just a while ago - after his last show in Holland - I was wondering if Prince would ever let a fan (!) play his guitar on stage, because I had never heard of that or witnessed it....

But now YOU did that at Malahide Castle. Man! That must go down as one of your experiences in life you will NEVER forget! clapping thumbs up!
