Any June shows?

So what is the thought? There will be shows the first weekend in June?

I had friends who planned to come weekend of the 20th, and then of course they aren't happening. So they're going to try the weekend in June. FINGERS CROSSED!

I suspect there will be shows in June. But we'll just have to wait and see.

I hope so! How many shows after May 29 would be 21 nights at the Forum?

If you count 2 shows at the Troubadour, that would be 17 performances in LA and 4 to go.....
If you don't count Troubadour, well you can do the math....
My humble opinion,(guess) is that he does one more club show and then 3 more Forum shows.

It will be interesting to see if Prince counts the Troubadour as a single 'nite' since it was 2 separately ticketed performances.

Personally, I would count them separately. A friend of mine who is also a hardcore fan said he believes it will be 21 concerts at The Forum and would expect P not to count the Troubadour as part of the 21 nites, shows, performances at all.

The Forum Facebook page suggests 6 more shows at the Forum in June for a total of 21. Dates unconfirmed as of yet.

Can you tell me where this is posted on their FaceBook page? I looked but did not the info you were referencing. I really hope there will 21 Forum shows!

There's a series of comments... I personally REALLY hope he does at least through June 11, as that looks like a perfect date for me to go without too much hassle and I have a friend who wants to go if we can do it that night. (and/or I hope the "final shows" are announced as such so at least people KNOW and can adjust plans...)

comments from http://www.facebook.com/p...1409588887

Dear Forum can you please add just another 7 more shows ??? I arrive from Melb. Aust 3rd June and would love to see Prince...........he can then retire forever and my life will be complete biggrin.........PRETTY PLEASE ??????

Michaela Varisto If he does all 21 nights at the Forum, there should be 6 more shows in June--maybe they'll overlap with your trip.

The Forum Yup...what Michaela said. smileMay 12 at 9:18pm · LikeUnlike · 1 person

IMHO, I don't actually find this suggestive of 6 more dates at the Forum in June. I just read it as someone else who happens to post for The Forum, doing the same speculative math we are all doing ourselves.

Perhaps there is more info out there somewhere on Facebook or otherwise. If anybody sees some please post it.

Although I want as many shows at the Forum as possible I would not put it past Prince to count the Troubadour or any other possible club shows as part of the 21 nites, shows, performances. I could also see him doing shows at a later date, in non-consecutive weeks or months later in the year or at other venues. I could see him doing more than 21 nites, shows, performances in LA (fingers crossed). He could easily squeeze in enough shows before the end of the month and finish the 21 before June even starts. I wouldn't be surprised to find out Prince doesn't know yet or hasn't even decided how it will play out.

There are only 2 things I do expect with some certainty at this point:

a) the 3 shows at the end of May which are already onsale

b) to count on the unexpected when it comes to Prince.

I have a feeling the latter will rear its head with regards to the '21 Nites' when its all said and done.

peace

I was told by 2 sources that Prince's people talked to the Troub about doing 3 more shows but they were booked until May 30, so maybe another venue, or Troub after he returns from Nor Cal??? I hope the small shows dont count for the 21 nights!! I never went to a Troub show, but from reports it looks like our two $25 Purple Pit experiences so far were so much more fulfilling than a $100 Troub or other small venue where he does a little more freeform meandering with more security...has anyone gone to both types of shows? even tho I am sure they all are amazing.... smile

Not freeform meandering at all... it's like, in a small venue, Prince feels free to let his hair down, and just play what he want to play... he is a musician first and foremost. Seeing the 11 pm Troubadour show was the best Prince concert I've ever seen.. and then seeing the following Friday at the Forum was one of the best Prince arena shows... On 5/13 you could just sense he was energized to have Janelle Monae, a young talented artist he respects open, and she joined him on stage a few times, and you could tell he was honored and inspired to have Stevie Wonder join him on stage. So last week was probably the highlight for me as far as Prince goes.

As much as I've enjoyed the forum shows, I'd trade them all for more of the Troubadour type of experience. With the caveat that I did not attend the 4/14 show or the one where he did "More Than This"... from the descriptions of those shows, they might have been on par with the Troubadour experience.

Let me assure you that The Forum shows can't even be compared to the Troubadour. I've been to 5 Forum shows and the 11pm Troubadour show.

After experiencing what I did at the Troubadour, I'd pay $500 in a heartbeat to see him there again if I had to.

Here's a great review:

Wow, thank you for that beautiful description of the Troubadour show, it was like being there just reading it, feeling the true heart and soul and intimacy, gave me chills. I want Prince to be playing in June so the folks flying from Melbourne can see him! We went to Big Day Out in Melbourne once, and that is a music loving audience...lol! I just feel your genuine love and dedication! <3

Another vote for the Troubadour midnight show if anyone is keeping score......and yeah, I have to say, it was EVEN better than 4/14, which was pretty effing hard to beat.

^^THIS. i've been to four at the forum (including 4/14) and the early troubadour show. not even comparable. i go to about 70 shows a year of various bands and the troubadour show was the most mind blowing experience i've ever had, concert wise.

still can't even believe or put into words how i feel about it.

I did not get to Troubadour show (ankle injury, family & work committments & missed the tix being Sold Out by like 15 minutes bawl ) but if I could have I would have done ANYTHING to get those tix like I used to in the old days. I would run around anywhere and take off work to get the intimate venue tix for Prince (BEFORE THE INTERNET & CELL PHONES!). If you EVER get the chance to see him like that those are the BEST, BEST, BEST!

That said, these Forum concerts are the best Prince ARENA/BIG VENUE concerts I've ever been to because of his seemingly sheer joy and committment to giving a good show and making people happy (in the old days it was more about him and his attitude and how he felt that night, sometimes I felt punished by him for adoring him so much).

I predict (5 to) 6 more shows at the Forum with a possible 1 more small venue (with two shows same night like the Troubadour) if he/his team can work it out and he feels the venue.

And I predict I will hit 4 more Forum shows with a desperate try for the small venue.

I alos predict four to six months of me thinking about a Prince concert on the weekend broken after he's done, remembering his 21 magic nites at the Forum. headbang cloud9
