It's already been posted on music sites.

Also here in Finnish:

http://www.tiketti.fi/uutiset/6411

Tickets starting at... 136.30€? Eh?

Hopefully that's just the more expensive ones. There isn't enough information available yet. The page above states that the seats to the stands will be sold through a different outlet.

Prince has cancelled doing shows in Finland 4 different times over the years and has yet to perform there.

So good luck this time around, I will cross my fingers for you.

I believe it was only 1988, 1990, 1992, and 2010.

He cancelled twice in 1988, twice in 1990, once in 1992 and once in 2010

^ While it's indeed possible he cancelled twice in those years, I don't see any notice or evidence of that. Unless you are counting the two cancelled shows on consecutive nights those years as individual events?

However I would not.

I see you did find one of my favorite sites for tour information/history. That site is very cool.

So Prince has never been to Helsinki?

Why would he go there this time after cancelling the exact same venue in 2010?

Also: what is the status of this gig?

How many tickets were sold?

^ Marysharon:

Ok, I thought that might be the case.

Udo:

Those are both good questions.

I would bet that tix would be a tough sell considering that he has cancelled on them so many times. But I hope he plays the gig.

Because I will be looking to collect any tour poster for this show that might appear.

Is there anyone from Helsinki on this forum that would know the answers to these questions?

2010 gig in Helsinki was cancelled before ticket sale started (actually ticket sale was first postponed and information of cancellation came few days later). Ticket sale for july gig should start on next week's Wednesday and I think it will not be a problem for organizer to get rid of tickets..but let's see what happens, maybe it really is some kind of joke for Prince to cancel Helsinki gigs - can't understand why, since Helsinki is beautiful and modern city and we would just love to have him here.

Hmm,

According to presale info found on Facebook the 89 tickets are just the very worst ones (back, top). Everything else will be in 109-136 region.

I guess I have the money in this occasion, but I'm not going to pretend I find the prices reasonable at all. Don't know, he might be overestimating the public interest in his shows currently as well.

correction: the tickets to the seats that are located at the top level all around the venue will be 89€ (or 91€ with extra fees).

When I saw David Bowie at the same venue in 2003 I had a seat right next to the stage. It was on the stands and not on the ground level, but you could see everything from there really well. The sound was also really, really good at that spot, but I doubt it is as good all around the venue. Those seats for Prince should be 115€ (or, rather, 117€).

Probably the reason for him cancelling the show on 2010 was that Lady Gaga was performing in Helsinki on the next week. He wouldn't have got such good audience I think.

I won't be terribly disappointed if the show gets canceled this time as well (after seeing him at the O2 a few times), but I am looking forward to at least buying the tickets this time... lol

The ticket sales of this year are probbaly a good indication why last year's show didn't happen.

The last time only the smaller of these two ticket outlets was supposed to sell the tickets, and the organiser was (is?) relatively inexperienced with arena concerts. I expect the other ticket outlet is there to provide some of that organisational experience and possible even money to pay for the show.

Lady Ga Ga's show had absolutely nothing to do with it, when the two audiences are almost entirely different. One is a trendy artist for young women, and the other is a classic artist for just about everybody else. razz

I was at that Bowie concert too, only I was at the first row on the ground level. lol

Probably the worst seat I've had in any show was at the back corner 50 metres from a stage. You have to stand sideways to see anything in the opposite end... mad

and I'm 137€ poorer, but so happy. I'm not sure how good idea it was to buy floor tickets, but obviously I'm ready to queue to get near the stage biggrin I hope I'm not the only one in that line, since the arena is far from sold out at the moment.

Looking at the lippu.fi website, at the moment the entire floor and better half of the lower seats are completely booked, but you can still get tickets at the back corner. Also, there's plenty of seats in the upper section.

It's hard to tell the current situation about the upper seats, but the lower half of the arena is at least 3/4 full.

There are floor seats again available, as well good side block seats. They are selling the same seats as VIP or normal tickets (308€ vs 117€) next to the stage, which I find weird. Propably good seats come available for 117€ if the VIP seats won't sell. I also find it risky business for trying to sell the upper seats for 91,00€. I think he is the only act since Ms Dion visit with that high price to sell them. Also see some upper blocks blocked out now from sale. IMO he should have done outdoor gig here like for only standing tickets like they did/do with Green day, Foo Fighters, GNR or Pink. Hartwall arena is bad for party concerts like Prince. I can already imagine finns sitting down the whole concert =)

The concert certainly isn't sold out. Lots of tickets available:

http://www.lippu.fi/prince-Tickets-helsinki.html?affiliate=ADV&doc=artistPages/tickets&fun=artist&action=tickets&key=607187%241523240&jumpIn=yTix&kuid=200674&from=erdetaila

I thought this would sell fast, but i was wrong. Ticket prices are probably too hight for those, who are not fans..or maybe Finns do not believe that Mr Nelson will really show up...( and then the reason for cancellation will be poor ticket sale eek) Let's see , what happens - tickets have been on sale only since Wednesday.
