he's going to have to announce these shows earlier for the out-of-towners or switch to just Fri/Sat like in Vegas.

eta: and PROMOTE them more, not just on billboards in L.A. or on a cable channel that very few people get. also, put some footage up on YouTube since he/they edited out so much of the live footage in the BTS special. it certainly won't hurt attendance and if something good gets uploaded, it could really help.

My mum last night hinted that she'd be willing to help out with the travel costs if I wanted to fly to LA to see him, but she wants me to travel with someone and I don't know another Aussie crazy enough to join me (that's not already there )

It should at least be an interesting night - I wonder how the numbers will change things, it might take on more of an aftershow vibe.

A true pro plays to a crowd of 2 to 20,000, that's what you do. It's easy to say he won't make it to 21 but over ten would be a decent feat. If he stays till june, I'll have some days off beginning on the tenth, will try to make some shows.

...... p.s. he does need to give more than a two day notice for shows, that is some dumb bullshit on his part.

Another problem is all the dang scalpers are snapping up the good seats. People like me who know their face value aren't willing to shell out $200 - $300 extra for the better seats. So, Prince might be getting money for some of those empty seats but it would be better to have his fans get those seats instead of the scalpers.

OMG! It does look pretty empty. Did people not move closer to the stage? I would think that would create a better and more intimate atmosphere and also a closer connection to the audience.

But most of all I was thinking about the sound? Usually it will effect the sound the less people there are in the room...

What was the whole experience like? Can somebody please share?

PS. Of course he should continue his 21 nites in LA project. Maybe just not at the Forum. Play some smaller clubs!

That's worth the $10...geez! A month ago I would have called u nuts if u told me it's possible 2 see Prince in concert in LA at that price. Prince is treating y'all big time!

Well, the poster said that's what the Forum looked like at "showtime," which I would assume means 7:30. I was at the near-sold-out show last Saturday, and the Forum wasn't much more crowded than that at 7:30. Everyone knows Prince doesn't go on before 8:45/9PM, and no one in LA is ever on time for anything. Everyone who WAS there was outside drinking and eating. I bet an hour after this photo was taken, the Forum looked pretty good (even if it wasn't at Saturday capacity). I'm going again tomorrow (Friday), and I'm sure there will be a rockin' crowd.

Poor advertising.... I live in LA and the only reason why I knew tix were on sale this week was cuz someone posted it on this forum. Other than that, I didn't hear it on the radio, tv, NOTHING.

I think you are right. I went to the show last Friday and couldnt believe how empty it was around 8:30 -9. But it quickly filled up at show time. They were just too busy chit chatting and getting their drinks at the concession stands.

Really excited to hear the details from this show. It seems very surreal to see him in an empty arena like that, but primarily lots of fun. Seems like a special show with an atypical setlist. Something for the diehards and something for the casual fan. I can't wait to make it down again. I'm really hoping he does the full 21 Nights.

If he were to bail on the Forum, what smaller venues does Livenation own in LA? I'm fairly certain Nokia is Goldenvoice, so that is out of the question. And after everything I've read about his experience there last time, I wouldn't think that was an option anyway.

Maybe he'll just do lower level/intimate shows at the Forum. And maybe Thursday will just be the quieter nights with the proper weekend remaining like previous weeks.
