How was the sound quality? There was some mention of sound issues earlier.

I dunno..Im reading all this from a blog. ill be at sat. show. im sure you will hear all the details tommorow. wink

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

True, all those going this Saturday u r n 4 a BIG treat.

Don't do that to me... Don't tease me like that. I'll have a hot natural fit if there is an aftershow and I geto to go and he destroys my life with his epicness. I might lose it...

I've been to many shows/aftershows. Saturday night is always the night if he's going to throw down.

this show sounds kind of dull, no?

although i bet she's always in my hair and the beautiful ones sound awesome

did it ever fill up?

the reports were that is was really empty earlier on in the night...

This is only because you've probably been seeing setlists, maybe listening to bootlegs.

You're pretty much too used to these songs.

But, for someone who hasn't been following Prince for years. Or someone who's only seeing him for the 1st time.

This is an awesome show with an awesome setlist.

If you've never seen Prince in concert before, or haven't seen him in a long time, it doesn't get better.

I doubt the 15-20,000 people at the show tonight don't find the show dull.

nice perspective ...however if u have been following the setlist of his tours and shows over the last few years ..this is a boring setlist and especially when u can recount the fans reactions 2 his setlists in LA in 2009 and montreux ..the hits are played out

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Honey, its wed nite & the first show. It's gonna get funkier as it goes along. Saturdays aftershow is gonna be the bomb!!!

This seems to only be the case for Prince.

Rolling Stones fans don't give a shit that they've heard Satisfaction 100,000 times.

Springsteen fans would riot if he didn't sing Thunder Road!

I know Prince said that he wouldn't play the hits, but he's not gonna fill arenas playing the new stuff, either.

When you do those big, arena shows like he did tonight, and like he's been doing since Musicology, he's got to play to the majority.

If you're looking for him to do a 13 minute version of Empty Room followed by a Vamp on Witness for the Prosecution, the big arena shows aren't for you.

That's why he does aftershows.

I know people want him to do the new stuff, but the people who paid to hear him do the "played out" hits are in the majority.

JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Good points. If he plays "arena" shows, he has to play the hits. Makes sense.

Points very well taken You have to remember the die hard fans can not sell out Arenas and this a very much hot ticket Concert going on the the NYC area. The ones that are buying tickets besides the die hard fans are the ones that know the popular tunes and money talks so you gotta give the people what they want...

Great show..band real tight. Been to every ny concert since 1984......sound in my opinion was POOR. After hearing the KTU interview and now experiencing the show....I could definately relate to what Prince was complaining about!

hmm.. i wouldnt say its the hits im sick of... im DYING to hear When Doves Cry, I would die 4 u , thieves in the temple, little red corvette....

i love hearing u got the look, purple rain, cream...

i think i just want him to mix it up more... there are SO many forgotten gems... too many to list.. and it seems like we get the same damn songs year after year...

fine, if he needs to play hits to fill arenas, , , fine,, i get that.. but man, if we have to hear nothing compares 2 u and raspberry beret.. we should get when doves cry!!!!

and id like more 'minor; hits... songs not everyone will know, but many will: mountains, anotherlover, hot thing, housequake, i wish u heaven, .. i mean break out international lover if you want to do a ballad medley!

i dont know, maybe there is no pleasing me.... i just know my mind was BLOWN when he did a brief I Would Die 4 U on the piano in London.....maybe its because it felt really fresh and inspired.....
