Why wouldn't any of us going 2 these shows 2 escape reality for a few hours and respect the FUNK that can be made by Prince and his showcase of musicianship not enjoy it?

AND if u think they do nothing for the REAL economy, tell that 2 all the people that work these tours and employ caterers and equipment companies, as well as other concert services and local hotels...etc that they arent helping the REAL economy. Tours like this do help the REAL economy locally where they are held.

Maybe u should come 2 the US of A (if u arent already here) to enjoy the freedom we have 2 spend our hard working $ the way we want - on Purple Tickets yes

No, just factual and no disrespect.

Because of course, these shows will help keep the real economy going for a bit!

Oh geez, here come the debbie-downers and negative nancys... lol People shouldn't stop enjoying their lives because of economic crises around the world. It's up to any individual to decide what they can "afford" to do in their lives, even if it means taking time out for one or two nights to enjoy some music. Life goes on, economic crisis or not.

I hear you jgreco. Americans pay taxes, in which much of that tax money contributes in maintaing the infrastructure of this country. Not to mention, the generosity of many Americans contributing their money to various charities in this country, and to countries outside America. So who is to tell us we can't spend our own, hardworking money to enjoy a night or two of music? Makes me laugh when a non-American tries to pull that "guilt trip" bs on us. lol

so I have somwhat of a dilemia. I really want to see Prince live... I've always liked him but recently really gotten into him. I realize he might not play some of my favorite stuff like some tracks off Gold and Dirty Mind and Always in My Hair... but I need to see him play live. I'd prefer to see him in Chicago which is close to me... but I'm worried he may do the NY area shows then cancel the rest.

I went to Canada to see the White Stripes on the first leg of their last tour because there was no Chicago date then the second leg got cancelled... So I was glad I did that. In college I didn't go to see MJ do his 30th anniversary show in NYC because I figured I could see him closer sometime... obviously that didnt' work out.

Any opinions on if I'll have the chance to see Prince closer to me? I don't have much money... but I do have a Vegas fund I've been saving I could put towards NYC travel.

That's the idealogy I have to settle for as well. I hope he does come closer to the Midwest so we further Purple fans can see him. It would be my first time!

All we have to do is hope

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

I didn't know all men were morbidly obese giants (a la Michael Bland). And what if a whole team of players from WNBA sat on the first row? They are women, aren't they?

You're sayin all men are "stupid drunk idiot guys"! WTF!? Yeah, like some women can't be "stupid drunk idiot gals"!?

I'm a man and I don't drink alcohol. I've never drinked alcohol in my entire life.

I'm 5'7" 154 lbs 5% body fat, muscular and ripped.

Men have always been allowed to get front row tickets (i don't literally mean first row, could be the first 20 rows, or what they call "floor tickets"), we could get them for the Musicology Tour, from npgmc.com

[Edited 10/22/10 15:43pm]

ok your the same height as me and sober then by all means stand next to me! but i mean all these guys that are like 6'2"!! i feel sorry for shorter ppl. i'm 5'7" and had girls and guys taller then me block my view..and their usually dancing like idiots with no rhythm...i've been to i'd say 100 concerts easily and i never remember seeing a drunk crazy girl though. if i had snooki and jwoww next to me at a concert i'd claw their eyes out! although this will be my first prince concert. i'm used to the crazyness of a korn concert with crowdsurfing idiots kicking you in the head and getting my ribs bruised from being crushed against the barricade. i nearly got trampled at ozzfest when fans rushed the second smaller stage. never been so scared in my life. i was pushing ppl running to get to higher ground having a anxiety attack.

my last show i went to see sting. and omg. annoying how ppl keeps leaving to buy beers for 10 a pop then go pee a billion times. your paying how much for these concerts! if you can't hold your liquor well then have respect for those around you and don't drink!!!! and that was a mellow show him playing with a philharmonic.the lady in front of me was hysterical dancing with her arms outreached like a songs for worship commerical swaying back and forth. i just wanna watch the show and dance...!!! fleetwood mac? everyone was sitting down? wth? my good friends went to see hall and oates and same thing.

i'll never forget the korn concert with us getting squished to death and the really drunk obnoxious guy who was jumping up and down trying to start a mosh pit and nearly killing us. i scratched him like i was a cat and punched him in that head.

maybe it's cause i have ADHD and i'm easily distracted. i want a seat. maybe i'm just getting old...29 in a few weeks! i want the ability to get up and pee inbetween bands and not lose my spot!

the crowds in all my dvds from europe seem so much nicer and reserved and respectful to others unlike the tristate area.......

they shouldn't sell drinks at concerts! anyone who pays 12 bux for a beer is a alcoholic. i got a jack a coke at one show once for $6.50. ALL ICE watered down!

yoda i don't wear a cross?!!? i wear a prince symbol prince guitar wacky nutty I When Prince's cum dries, diamonds are formed. lol eek drooling no one tops prince in concert!

Even P mentioned 'hard times' for the USA during the scandinavian dates.

These times can be a lesson for people from abroad. So it is not just minless negativity that you think you see.

The cri$i$ originated there, it spread everywhere and we need to stop the root causes. So why not look at the root?

lol Hey downer-dude, get a grip. What the hell does any of that have to do with Prince having a concert in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world? If he didn't have one today or tomorrow, world hunger will not end, and violence, economic crises, other social/economic/political ills, and disrespect will still exist in the world. None of those social/economic ills will end the day before or after he has any concert or if he chooses not to perform at all.

I'll tell you this though, when corporate execs start managing their companies' funds right, and not depend on taxpayer welfare checks to bail their asses out everytime they f**k up, and corrupt governments throughout the world, actually give a damn about the concerns of their citizens, and pay attention to making and maintainiing improvements, promoting empowerment, stop exploiting their citizens, and if people in general, in countries that have more than others, start making better decisions on how they manage their money/resources and lives, and share that information with those around them to do the same, then maybe we will see improvements.

In the meantime, I'll be damned if I stop breathing fresh air and enjoying life, because of any of that, especially when many American citizens donate their money to many third world countries, to charities/organizations in the U.S., get taxed out of their asses through their paychecks. For anyone to tell us that we shouldn't go out and enjoy a few nights of good music or try to force guilt on us, because of existing, economic issues in the world, is a bit ridiculous.

With that being said...I'll let you know how great any of these shows I attend turns out.. thumbs up! Now back on topic.
