He walked past her at first and said something like "He" was having a good time then took a double take and corrected it to "She" Then looked yet again and called her "shim" I was in the front row on Prince's left side and yelled out "daammm" and started cracking up, Prince looked directly at me and had the biggest grin/smirk on his face I have ever seen...
I am still laughing about it today... biggrin

That was the most amazing performance I have ever seen Prince do.....Plus He played almost all the songs that I highlight on a regular basis...The best part was he hardly ever was on stage without his guitar...And that man is The Funkiest jammin best ever guitar player.

No, it actually wasn't. He's been known to make fun of the people that get up on stage to dance. Many times, with good reason.

Amazing nite!!! guitar

There was a misty drizzle when I arrived in Chanhassen, but by Minnesota standards, the temperature was relatively mild. I watched out my hotel window as the Purple People began to file in with Big smiling faces. : )

The shuttle was a cinch, as well as the line and the time it took to get inside. The Love4OneAnother room was closed off but a remodeled bathroom with a common entry area circled to the right for women, and left for men.

The earlier reports capture the 'electric' feeling of walking into Paisley, the large room with a stage set to hold royalty.

The spot that I found had an excellent opening to see Prince but not much else of the stage. I was standing near where lovely Lenka Paris was spinning. But I didn't know it was her til someone posted it on here. I heart the remix she made and was given away at First Avenue for the 7-07-07!! She did an excellent job keeping the crowd hopping prior to Prince's arrival.

Forever in my life was riveting, and beautiful jams one after another kept on rolling. Larry Graham and Prince rocked fantastic guitar duos. Pure Homegrown Excellence guitar guitar I hope this was taped, and will appear on Lotus for all the doubters. I'm a guitar fanatic, my ears don't lie, and that was FUNKY!!! headbang Great to see Prince having so much fun, great to see Prince, period.

After the first encore i decided to go toward the back and when i inadvertently started toward the Love4OneAnother room. A guard standing nearby mistakenly said that the show was over. Not knowing how cold or wet it was outside, I headed for the bus. As we sat there on the bus, not many people were exiting the building. I had a familiar feeling that it wasn't OVA!!!

Purple Rain must have been the bomb...I would have loved to hear the new rendition. It always amazes me how Prince can imagine so many new sounds. Nothing can compare to the proximity or sound of the Art in Motion as Prince playing live.

Got back to the hotel about 2:30 am, and a vehicle was dropping someone off just ahead of me. When i stepped into the elevator I notice a beautiful young lady with a sexy sharp purple/blue dress on. So i just had to ask if she had seen Prince. When she said yes and that she works for him I started realizing that this might be Shelbey. So I asked and she said yes and seemed surprised that I'd recognized her. Then I told her that I'd seen one of her videos on the Org and this whole time I'm thinking, wow the orger 'japanrocks' would love to have been on that elevator ride : ) I read a few of his posts and I'll just say that Shelbey is very fine, stunning and sweet!!

I drifted off to sleep dreaming about Prince, Paisley Park, and the happy family of friendly Purple Peeps cloud9 Reality hit too soon, I woke up really early and went downstairs for a cup of coffee. On the elevator ride back to my room another woman looked like she could be a Prince fan. Not many people were up and about so I asked her if she had seen Prince. Turns out it was Prince's hairdresser!! She said that she's been fixing Prince's hair for (7/17) years. She said that they just got back from Paris and she had 6 hrs to head to Paisley Park.

I told her that Prince's hair looked great and I thanked her for doing the Pretty Man's Do, keeping his hair looking fabulous. She was sweet and gracious also and it was fun bumping into two different people who work for Prince.

I decided to drive by Paisley before leaving town, It was still raining and kind of dreary. But there was hardly any evidence that something had happened there a few hours before. The grounds were clean and the building glowed. I popped in a Prince CD and drove away not knowing when or if he'll be back...

So Right Now, I'd like to thank Prince, the Band, Special Guests and Purple Peeps for the super special, Beautiful Nite!!! It Ain't Ova!! lol

Is that who that was? Man, she sat there for a long time after the show was over, too. Didn't talk to anyone (that I saw), barely even looked around. Very odd.

I think she might have been too stunned to move after her first time to see him live was 3 hours long in his own house ...

It was also amazing to hear live MOUNTAINS/SHAKE YOUR BODY ....I do hope in the future he'll dig in the catalog like surprising Paris with ALL DAY ALL NIGHT etc

It was just really great to see celebration die-hards again I have the feeling IT AIN'T OVER !!! Prince made up for 7-7-7 from the short set-list at FIRST AVE

and yes I did notice after the show was over he limped a tad-bit as if either his foot or knee was in pain he danced during the night but something hurt. Not
going to speculate or diagnose, no one should but aside from the shuttle buses having to take people back, his slight pain , sound issues. I am certain he would have took us into the dawn jamming!never-the-less it was well worth it,
I just need ONLY Prince fans in the house next those who stood around like tombstones needed to say home old or not !!! as I post I have not slept in 27 hours still managed to have ENERGY during the show.. come home walk the dogs etc

He was definitely making fun of her. We was talking about her because how she was dancing, but he did say "she, I mean he", a couple of times, then said "shim" meaning she and him combined cuz he was acting like he didn't know what the hell it was. Looked like from the floor that she was about 6'5". eek

Back in the day when he would have private parties and play in the atrium it was awesome. Everybody dancing, drinking, eating and having a good old time then perform sometimes. When the parties got moved to Love 4 One Another room it wasn't the same anymore. You didn't have to be invited and the peeps would just come in and gather around the stage waiting for him to play and staring at him up in the dj area. So the wallflowers have been coming for many years now.

Just remembered this, but around the time he was filming the Love 4 One Another videos he was going to play, and like always all the people were just standing around waitng for him to play and not dancing or anything (they had put in a dance floor at one point in the middle of the soundstage area) and when the actually did start playing the whole band was on stage and Prince started singing and the people were all looking around to see where he was at, and he was at the back in the soundboard area singing. It was too damn funny. It was like "psyche"!

Just a little clarification...when I wrote my orginal post I had been up for about 22 straight hours and was a bit loopy! smile

The shuttle bus idea was brilliant and really made getting to/from Paisley really easy. Let's hope that Prince does this in the future for other shows!

When we first walked in a video camera was setup in the back by the soundboard, however it was removed a few songs into the show to make room for the special guests that were sitting on couches on raised platforms around the General Admission area.

He did a bit of "You Can Make It If You Try" during the Larry Graham portion of the show. I think he also did some of "Water." (The LG part really wasn't that bad as he was there as more of a complement to Prince--he did not take things over or anything). Say what you will about Larry but he IS a fantastic bass player. He did not do "If You Let Me Stay" as I had originally posted.

Yes...Bria and George Clinton were also there. Prince also mentioned that Mint Condition was in the house but I'm not sure if they were or not (couldn't pick them out of a lineup or anything).

Seriously...it was a freakin' awesome show!! Prince did have some sound issues periodically, especially at the beginning of the show. Numerous times throughout the night he was asking for his guitar to be turned up/down as well as the keys, cross-fade, background vocals, etc. I was a bit worried at first because we all know that this tends to irritate Prince, but he was in a seriously GREAT mood...really seemed happy to be back in Minneapolis and playing for the fans.

The definite highlights were "Forever in My Life" (which had to have gone on for 10 minutes!) and "Kiss" (I have NEVER been pleased with any of the live versions of this song but last night's version was killer!!!). "Northside" was an absolute suprise (I coulnd't believe my ears!) as was "Turn Me Loose." Hearing Prince do "I Want You Back" (!!!) and "Shake Your Body" was pretty cool, too. As someone else commented...the guitar effect at the end of "Purple Rain" was stunning...

Oh...and Prince doing the classic Time and Sheila E. stuff...WOW! smile

George Clinton was not there last night - it was a person with long dreads but it was not George

Ya know...with the way he came out and danced at the beginning, it looked like he didn't have any physical issues. But he was definitely limping by the end. I mean...very noticeably. sad
I mean if he did have sex he would break every rule Jehova's have regarding premarital sex so Prince is really just friends with them all anyway.

You didn't have to be invited and the peeps would just come in and gather around the stage waiting for him to play and staring at him up in the dj area. So the wallflowers have been coming for many years now.

Oh trust I had a chance to go to some of the parties in the love4oneanother room yes you're right but the Chicago fans ( ex 2004) stayed partying while others waited for a possible performance while staring at the back of his skull lol

No it was not George, but Greg.

Up front, slightly to right of Prince and right there at him when he came down from the stage and walked by to escort a certain someone away from the front of the stage.
Need I say how great it was to be at The Park for an up close and personal look at Prince performing, no rocking the house!

The person you are referring to is a friend he personally escorted to sit in his guest section so she would not have to stand up and people were pushing towards the front of the stage and he was concerned for a friend. I think he was a dear friend and gentleman to literally stop playing to personally escort her out of there and have her sit in his guest area.
If you had looked back later you would have seen the person sitting in the area with Larry and Tina and his other guests

It wasn't my post, but what exactly was reported inaccurately???
