Well to me,seeing a great tribute act(this one on saturday will be the first for us),is seeing the next best thing. Plus,it will have that concert element as pretty much everyone there will be fans of P's music...plus it will be great to hear P's stuff live biggrin

Purple Reign in Vegas were amazing. Tribute bands can be the next best thing, especially if Prince isn't doing shows himself!!!

Claire hun, I am planning to go - but - I am moving this weekend so will have to see how I get on Saturday as it may be totally not practical.

It also couldn't be further away in London from where I live. I will look into transport possibilities now. biggrin

Yeah I noticed!!!

Me and Laura were getting it (and giving back!) to view in Jeffiners 'Prince funnier than Eddie Murphy' thread earlier as well.

I've kept out of the NIN thread because I really like Trent's music - NIN are listed on my profile - but please, as creative as he may be, even he admits himself that Prince through the 80's was one of the main driving forces to make him create music.
He even thanks Prince in the liner notes of his first album Pretty hate machine - even though he'd never met him, nor did he have any contribution to the album!!!
Trent is a geeky fan boy who gets inspired by other people and then manipulates their ideas and visions into his own style. He is excellent at what he does, but alot of it somebody else did first - his skill is that he thinks of how it can be done better!

Whoops - is that Jacking the thread or what?????

Sorry everyone!!!! confused

Still working out transport and things as I Live in the North east parts of London and couldn't be any further away from Kingston if I tried!!!!!

So want to go though! biggrin

OOH I just noticed I ended that thread!!!! yay! they're still pondering the earth shattering question posed by moi!

-----

back to topic, how are we all gonna meet up?

Ive figured Ill be wearing black skinnies, black satin knee high boots, a trilby and dont know what top!!!

How am I gonna recognise any of you, considering (assuming) the place will be heaving. Is there some place in there we can meet apart from the bar or outside the ladies loo! biggrin

also is there parking near there, we'e coming from SE london so dont know the area. ive only been yo kingston about two times and that was a drive-thru!
shame we dont have some sort of orgers pin ooh like a secret seven badge!!

the symble necklaces might be a bit hard to spot, plus loads of non orgers could have those! plus I dont - so there!

I too was wondering about parking. We're heading in from a bit north of London.

I can give my mobile number to anyone that wants to meet up. That will probably be the easiest way for us all to find each other.
