Nothing on the aftershow yet but I'm sure you'll find out first here!!!

Alot of people going alone including myself, but once in Dublin there will be a few designated bars and pubs to meet up at, arranged closer to the time.

When are you flying out from Stansted?

I fly out on the same flight, but my return flight is the 1 after yours at 8:10 - and I'm also staying out the night and not bothering with hotels.

Obviously there is the opportunity of the aftershow but (in case there isn't or can't get in), I also intend to look into alternative options like other clubnights in Dublin on a monday, 24hrs bars, cafes, off licence's etc - I have absolutely no intention on sleeping before my flight home!!!

Squirrelmeat and Jeffiner are on the same flight out! Hopefully the whole flight will be full of Prince fans, so then we can have a good ol' sing song on the plane!!! Warm up the vocals for the main show!!!

What block are you in for the show?

I too am toying with this idea of being up all night, if there's an aftershow, great, if not it's a night on the lash and flight home, no worries. can't be arsed with hotels. Dublin is an up all night kind of place anyway right? smile

I would like to think so. My only concern would be that its a monday night and maybe much dosn't go on compared to the weekend - however I'm actually quite positive that there will be plenty of options for us.

I have a friend who owns some clothes shops and she has a branch in Dublin run by her daughter, so I will be proper grilling her to find out everything that happens on a monday night!!!

If anything, we might end up too much to do - but hopefully, we all end up at the aftershow!!!! and then a 24hr off licence!!! razz

I live in Dublin city.

Nothing happens on a monday night. If you don't have a hotel, I'm afraid you'll be wandering the streets after the aftershow (wherever it is?????)

You might be lucky enough to find a early house down Capel St way, but I dont think that happens on a tuesday morning.

Then 20 beers, a park bench, and a sing song with the local wino's it is then!!!

Warning.
My cousin and i satyed up all night when we went to 02. Went to aftershow which finished at 3 and we were hanging round euston til 7 with some serious weirdo's.
We fell out with each other as we were so tired. Remember that if travelling you will be up really early.
Just a little warning as i thought i would be fine as its only a few hours to kill. It will have been a long day.

Thanks for the warning, but the amount of time over the years for me, that I've left my house on a Friday night and got home Monday morning, are way too many too count!!!!

Also, out of all the places you could have ended up in London - Euston and Kings Cross (just up the road), are the last places I'd ever want to be!

I am gonna look into this properly though, especially as it is a strange city to me, and if there seriously isn't ANYTHING open or going on, then a cheap bed and breakfast may need to be booked as a precaution.

But me being me, I still prefer the idea of turning up and seeing where the evening takes me.

Thank you for caring. smile

My friend and myself have booked a B&B very close to the venue - you know that you can share our room - just bring your sleeping bag - there's no way I'd see you sleeping on the street!!!!

Thank you Hun. I'm really hoping there's no need to sleep, but I may need to get the B&B details from you just in case!

By the sounds of it, there's gonna be an army of us storming the aftershow venue (wherever it ends up being) and the night will hardly be a lonely one. Before I know it, it will be time to leg it back to the airport!! xx

Anybody in Dublin know any likely venues for an aftershow? can't we narrow it down to a few?

would love that too. None of my friends are that crazy about the little man to spend that amount of money on tickets (I'm from Holland). Maybe my sister will join me. See you in the gold side (A)

...just get a hotel in the city centre, DONT STAY NEAR THE AIRPORT ITS SHIT!!!!
If theres gonna be an after show party id say it`ll either be in The Academy (formally know as spirit) that the spot he used in 2002, 15 min walk from croke park. Crawdaddy/ where the POD used be in Hardcourt St, thats the spot he used in 95.15 mins in a taxi if u can get one or Vicar St which is more a venue than a club and chances are something else is on that night....Id put my money on the Acdamey, purple walls and all that shit and the sound is amazing I played a gig there myself two weeks ago! cool
