Peace Mr7 what is this supposed to mean?? is the truth a numbers game? will it be decided by numbers? according to these numbers, current, and all those of history, the JWs will always be outnumbered by the non JWs, so i could simply say with equal merit that, from what you said, the JWs should just stop propagating their version of reality. if the mormons start baptising more than the JWs, (remember they can baptise for the dead!) is that any reason to switch, or think they have the truth, or that their version of the truth should go unchallenged? if some people feel it their obligation to speak the truth as they understand it, then the value of their doing so should not be measured by whether or not others listen, ignore, or disbelieve. that is their choice. i don't understand how the logic you are using helps your case. . 3 words: I HOPE SO. I think Prince will tire of the same retoric after awhile. He gets bored easily, especially when it starts limiting his creative ability when it comes to art. You know what, I definitely believe that also. He's not used to fitting into a box like that. I believe he only joined because Larry came into his life during a not so favorable time and told him "Good News" like he wanted it. I mean, I think his parents died around the same time and I'm sure the "resurrection hope" appealed to him, so why not. However, once he finds out how the Society runs that religion and rules its followers, he'll let go. GeSmi1 Baby, Baby, Baby...what's it going 2 b?

(there is no limit to this number, in fact John called it a "great crowd which no man was able to number"- Rev 7:9) Psalms 37:11, 29- "But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace . . . The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever." The earth will be a paradise, with no more pain, sickness, death, and with all the animals at peace. Isaiah 35:1- "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose." Revelation 21:3,4- "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Isaiah 11:6- "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them." 144,000 will rule over earth and it's inhabitants with Jesus in heaven as kings and priests. Revelation 7:4- "And I heard the number of them which were sealed; and there were sealed a hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel." Rev. 14:1, 3- "And I looked, and lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him a hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads . . . And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders; and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth." hope this helps some to understand our beliefs. if you have more questions, let me know.

Well, whatever works for ya. Seems it works for the general population, only most won't admit to it. Yes, I'd have to agree with you there Dr Evil. God's word the bible agrees too: Jesus Christ referred to Satan as being “the ruler of the world,” the one whom the great majority of mankind in general obeys by heeding his urgings to ignore God’s requirements. (John 14:30; Eph. 2:2) The Bible also calls him “the god of this system of things,” who is honored by the religious practices of people who adhere to this system of things.—2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Cor. 10:20. 1 John 5:19 says: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” But his power is only for a limited period of time and is only by the toleration of Jehovah, who is God Almighty. But wether he will stay being a JW or not, I just hope he keeps making great music. I just have a gut feeling the JW thing thing does limit his expressiveness in some way these days, especially after hearing Musicology. Perhaps it has nothing to do with JW in itself, but still...: On his Rainbow Children album he did sound very passionate and although I personally don't fully agree with all lyrics I thought it was such a relief to hear him make such passionate music after so many years. But, after hearing the in comparison pale Musicology album I get the feeling the 'magic' from TRC all faded away. As if he decided to keep his beliefs private instead of sharing one of his major passions in his music. Which is cool. Lots of people still like Musicology so who am I to judge? Personally I hope that he will leave JW but that's up to him. I just hope I'll like his next album better I also liked the passionate feel of TRC. I was listening to 1+1+1 is 3 the other day in the car. What a funky song!!!!! I really believe he was aiming for commercial success with Musicology...something that would get radio play. Not to go mainstream, but to give the radio audience an opportunity to hear "real musicians". You know sometimes ya gotta give a little, take a little... But with this last album, look how many people now know Prince is still alive...and by coming to the concerts they will hear REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS! Then he can make another truly funky, passionate album! (I do like Musicology ...just not as much as some of the other stuff...I like the groove on Dear Mr. Man...) So...how's everybody doing?

I have no idea why Prince decided to become a JW, but if he thinks he's happy with it, that's all that matters I guess. But because he *is* so fickle, I think he'll probably get bored of it and wander off in another spiritual path eventually. I agree with what others have said though, it really does seem like he's limiting himself in terms of both his behaviour and his art because of it. Censorship is never a good thing.

I don't think erikd meant that you all are literally fascist, militant, or belligerent dictators, but what he means is that you all do go by what the WTBS says and you never argue the points. Sure, you believe that their under the direction of Jehovah, but nothing could be further from the truth. Jehovah never changes, but he's in charge of an organization that constantly changes its doctrine?! Truth is absolute, not changing and it stands over time. Yes, I know the organization is imperfect, but I've heard that they believe that as people their imperfect, but as an organization, well, nothing could be closer to perfection than the WTBS and it's congregations. You're right that doesn't make sense, but that was the phrase used by JW's in 1988, at least in the South. Still, I thank everyone that's posted to this thread and other threads. Especially the ones that cite references with their comments to uphold their argument. I'm basically convinced that there is no need for me to look at JW's ever again in my life, as a religion of choice. I can tell they don't have the truth, more or less, than any other organization on earth. Hopefully, Prince will make a decision that befits him, that's if he stays or not, but if Prince is changing his ways just to please the JW's and Larry Graham, then I'd think he wouldn't stay one for long, but I'm sure Prince is doing it because he wants to. More power to him. GeSmi1 Baby, Baby, Baby...what's it going 2 b?
