In actuallity. There is a proper way of disposing of a flag. I am assuming that this dispencer is for placing your flag to have it properly disposed of? Or just some lousy european having fun with photoshop?

What's your problem, Ardeo?

We've found that the perfect solution to all of our problems in America is to vigorously waive the American flag. It works wonders. Look at the way it's improved our economy and how it's resolved all of our societal problems.

That's why our beloved President is now taking our solution around the world. Just think. Soon, the world will be one big problem-free extension of the United States of America! Wow! I get red, white and blue goose bumps just thinking about it!

The only downside, as far as we patriotic Americans can see, is that all that vigorous American flag waving eventually wears the flags out and they need to be replaced.

So we've come up with an organized system for used flag disposal. Big deal.

The way we see it here in America, it's only a temporary solution to a temporary problem.

We won't need those flag disposal drop boxes for much longer if the Congress gives American corporations sufficient tax incentives to stimulate the 9-year-olds in all the foreign sweatshops to produce more durable flags!

What a proud day that will be for the whole world!

I love all the USA flags but the way, especially the words "made in china" down the side of so many. Somehow I think that shows how sadly misplaced american patriotism has become!

Shit. At least 1/4 of the people I see either:

a: don't know how to hang it

b: Don't have the graphics right (too many/little stars/stripes; stripes in wrong order, stars in wrong pattern, etc.)

Let alone know how to dispose of one. I saw a pair of red, white and blue shorts recently, and couldn'thelp but wonder if that constituted desecration. I mean, having old glory old glory over your nutsack is...well...it was disturbing.

I felt the same way after Sept. 11 and flags were everywhere. Is it better to fly the flag in the wrong manner and actually commit desecration or not fly the flag at all?

Respect for the flag is at an all time low because of ignorance. Flying the flag is at an all time high.

I will admit, I am guilty also. I have left my flag out in the rain. I have rolled it up and stuck it in the corner. I dont put it away properly and I havent disposed of it yet so i dont know what I will do there. But I fly it every day. Always have. Always will. well... maybe not if Hillary Clinton or Tom Daschel or Dick Gephardt becomes president or if Bush continues his spending and moralizing ways. Why? Because I love what this country once stood for. I love what that flag stood for. Too bad it has become so distorted in recent times.

Its funny how you always "assume" how things are.
Even I would never go as far in my generalizations about America as you go with Europe.

Besides, if there is any just war (I doubt that there is) then yes, it would be the American involvement in WWII. But that was the first and last time. Do you wanna continue bringing it uo but keep jumping over the other countless unjustified military actions by the US since 1945?
And please dont forget: Roosevelt didnt join because he wanted to protect freedom. Roosevelt joined because he knew that WWII would be America's rise to a superpower thanks to a self-destructive and chaotic Europe. WWII was the best thing that ever happend to America. It brought your country the biggest economical boom in history.
