Yeah, I've been catching the early promotions of McCabe's interview on 60 Minutes this Sunday. McCabe and Rosenstein seem to have different recollections on whether or not they seriously considered the "Code Red" (excuse me), the 25th Amendment.

Yup. I knew he couldn't take his L like a man. McConnell said he's preparing to sign the govt funding bill and declare a national emergency. We'll see how the so-called checks and balance works out of the Senate.

-

They've been making threats this whole time that the prez better not do it. Now here again, they'll prove they're spineless unless you're a black, democratic president with a muslim name and happen to be from Hawaii.

-

-

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says President Donald Trump has indicated he's prepared to sign the government funding bill and issue a national emergency on the border.

-

McConnell said Thursday the Senate will soon vote on the bill that's needed to avoid a partial federal shutdown Friday.

-

The comprise measure keeps departments running through the fiscal year but without the $5.7 billion Trump wanted for the border wall with Mexico.

-

The House is also expected to vote on the bill later Thursday.

-

Trump's assent would end a raucous legislative saga that commenced before Christmas and saw Trump force a record 35-day partial federal shutdown.

Trump has tweeted: “Trying to use the 25th Amendment to try and circumvent the Election is a despicable act of unconstitutional power grabbing...which happens in third world countries. You have to obey the law. This is an attack on our system & Constitution.” Alan Dershowitz @SeanHannity

Let that sink in for a moment. By retweeting this, Trump is essentially saying that the 25th Amendment of Constitution is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Amendment XXV

Section 1.

In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

Section 2.

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

Section 3.

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

Section 4.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

No, because it would be led by members of his own party. If it was Democrats who could vote him out, then maybe it could be called a coup, but probably not.

I have an idea for a book when all this mercifully ends that's nothing but news excerpts, Trump's brain dead tweet about the story and then a tweet right below that one from 3 or 4 years earlier saying the exact opposite thing. So it just degenerates into Donald arguing with himself.

I know you're kidding/making a joke but this could legit turn out to be a problem for them. Regarding with these legal matters, technically, she's a witness at that point and, from what I gather, her statements CAN be used as evidence. She gets up there and lies to everyone's face...when those lies (almost) have the same weight as Donald's Tweets which have been termed "official statements" from the White House..well...Meuller's office isn't questioning her just for shits and giggle's.

That word comes up alot. "Lies". I constantly ask myself and the people in this thread that still support this asshole, "why so many lies?" The media is FINALLY starting to ask this question. I'm honestly waiting for an answer.

Before someone says "Bill Clinton", I KNOW why he lied. Because he cheated on his wife. And he was impeached. We already know Donald cheats on his wife(s) with porn stars and pays out hush money to silence them, but continues to deny the affairs. Why is everyone srrounding Trump lying to the fucking FBI about his ties to Russia and cutting deals? Why are so many GOP members anxious to squash this investigation when they could actually BENEFIT from Trump falling?

It's a really simple question. It's because the dirty money leads to all or most of them.

I'd bet my life savings he won't.

Not because I don't think he's a criminal (and that still has to be proven mind you) but because rich people write and enforce the laws. No one went down for nearly crashing the entire US economy in 2008 and many of those responsible got cabinet poistions in Obama's administration. Then the spin became "let's blame everything on poor people" who were given loans people in charge knew they couldn't afford but took that money and gambled it away on people's retirement funds.

This is not a just nation nor a just world. It never has been. Laws are only as good as the people that enforce them and our nation's jails aren't packed to the rafters with people who have enough money to buy "justice". Justice costs money and our jails are largely filled with non violent drug offenders. Oliver North sold drugs and guns to fund illegal wars and not only never spent a day in jail, he has a pundit job on FOX News.

DJT may be run out office in disgrace but he never spend one day in prison. Frankly, I'm not banking on either.

I think he's gonna skate.

I hear you, and actually believe you, as you make good points, but for me, the best day will be when that idiot is no longer president, by being voted out of office.
