Ya know McCaskill is getting mouthy on her way out, too bad she wasn't this mouthy when she was serving her terms.

I voted for McCaskill because I didn't want Hawley in there, but I seriously did NOT want to vote for her. Towards the end she didn't want to upset the repubs so she started voting with them on some things. Then when she voted No on Kavanaugh, it wasn't because of the sexual allegations, it was because of something else...that pissed me off.

Ole Claire isn't happy but she should've spoke up months ago, and not days before she's leaving office.

I welcome new and younger people that's what we need instead of these old geezers that has been in there for years upon years.

Yeah, why save your fire just to be catty to a newbie on your way out? The decency factor has really plunged with the Orangemonster at the helm. Suprised Claire went there. She must be tired. Ocasio-Cotez will make it or break it on her own, give her a chance. If NYC doesn't like her performance, they'll toss her.

How do these losers lecture winners like AOC? These dinosaurs know Socialism is finally coming to a town near you. 12 percent of our energy comes from collectively owned grids.

You lost, bake cookies ho.

I think McCaskill's take is fair since AOC hasn't done anything except win an election. O Rourke didn't even do that and just because they're both under 50, everyone is acting like they're the saviors of the democratic party. I say let's wait and see what these folks do before we start anointing them, because chances are, they're not going to live up to the hype.

^^No one here is anointing anyone. We are commenting on McCaskill dissing Cortez on her way out the door. No point to that, none.

The all bold font does not make your look smarter or better. It's an insecurity tell.

If I'm so insecure then why do you keep taking shots at me?lol I use the bold to be able to see at a glance where my posts are and who's quoted me because this site has crummy formatting and no notification options like every other forum in the world in 2018.

If you don't think people have been "anointing" AOC then you haven't been reading the news. Again, I'm not saying she can't or won't do any good, I'm saying, people are talking about her and Beto like they're the second comings and neither of them have done anything yet. Those are facts whether you like them or not.

They are both new faces on the scene and have stirred some excitement. We'll see if they can lead - but it's perfectly Ok to be excited about the prospect of a change in the party.

I understand that, but it feels cart before horse to me, especially when all either of them have done thus far is be new to the scene. Until actual actions have come to pass, it feel like they're being turned into celebrities for doing nothing. John Edwards was an up and coming superstar and look what happened to him.

That said, the Democratic party desperately needs some new blood, so I'm hoping if not these two, then some group of new folks comes and changes it up.

That's why Claire needs to keep her trap shut. She had her terms, no need for her to be knocking the new people and women to boot.

Exactly. Kudos to Claire, she did many great things. Why put yourself on the same level as Palin? Even if Ocasio-Cortez doesn't turn out well, do you want that snarl on your exit record?

Where is it written that women should be above reproach from other women? All McCaskill is saying is that AOC has gotten a lot of hype for nothing. I don't see what's wrong with that because it's true. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do y'all really think there was no green-eyed monster bias on Claire's part here? The experienced congressman Cortez beat was asleep at the wheel. Maybe it's shade to Trump's election, maybe a little of both.

"I'm a little confused why she's the thing,” McCaskill told CNN. “But it's a good example of what I'm talking about, a bright shiny new object, came out of nowhere and surprised people when she beat a very experienced congressman."

Actually the same could be said of Claire, Hawley is basically a newcomer himself, who beat the very experienced congresswoman, Claire.
