Conservative scholar Robert P, George supports Marc Lamont Hill's right to free speech

He said this at another of his touring spots with Cornel West, even though he is against BDS. He is right to say that Hill has equal rights to him and that a Palestinian baby has the same worth as a Jewish baby.

At least he is consistant. He even taught Marx while Cornel taught Hayek.

Free speech is supporting the speech you hate.

Now you're getting it. Most around here equate defending speech to agreeing with or supporting the speech or the speaker.

If you do not defend speech you strongly disagree with then you do not believe in freedom of speech. This is a simple concept. That's why they teach it in grade school, even children are capable of understanding it.

was Marc arrested?

Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

there is not as much of that here as I would like. And for some, it is not enough to agree! Even when some of them agree with me they still make up that I do not?

LOL: I was agreeing with DJ...and I said that some here on the org see the defense of free speech as agreement with said speech. I am YUGE on defending free speech that I do not like.

Some here also tend to confuse free speech with other things...

But this case Marc's free speech was not violated... so Bob's defense seems to be unnecessary.

"Free speech is supporting the speech you hate."

This bit, whoever said it, is erroneous... I assume it was just a quirk of language... but that is not right.

It is about supporting the RIGHT, not the actual speech. But that may be a bit too deep for some.

Exactly. I'm a believer in COMPLETE free speech, even hate speech. I'm just tired of these mfers who play the PC-card and whine like bitches when they get called out for their ignorant remarks. Say what you want, just understand not everyone will respond kindly, and deal with the consequences.

I would defend your RIGHT to say any damn thing you want, even if I don't agree with the speech.

Would you do the same?

Isn't disagreeing with/protesting the speaker also a form of free speech?

I will too! That is your right to speech. I am not sure you respect speech.

Free speech does not = the truth. Just because someone has the right to say something does not mean it is true. E.g. Our orange prez spews forth lies on a daily basis and calls it truth.
