James 'Whitey' Bulger Dead

https://www.nbcnews.com/n...on-n926266

Notorious Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger was found dead at a federal prison in West Virginia Tuesday, federal officials said.

Bulger, 89, had recently arrived at the high-security penitentiary USP Hazelton in West Virginia, according to the Boston Herald.

The feared former leader of the Winter Hill Gang, Bulger was convicted in 2013 of participating in 11 murders stretching from Massachusetts to Florida to Oklahoma.

I never knew that Johnny Depp played J.Bulger in a movie.

Why would anyone kill a 89 year old man who´s been in prison since 2011? I mean, he probably had enemies but what took them this long?

Probably a Mob hit. The Mob doesn't forget and something was up because he was being moved around.

Yep, if the Mob is out to get you, no matter how many years, they'll get you.

It's a trip. They got to Bulger but Sammy the bull gravano is still living. And this is after him doing multiple years in prison, and after testifying against his partners in crime. I don't think Sammy is even in the witness protection program. At least he wasn't before he did that 18 or so years in prison. Dude testified against one of the biggest mafia bosses ever, and admitted to a couple dozen murders, and he's still living...and free.

Anyway, who knows why Bulger was killed. It could have been because he was working with the feds(before he went to prison), or because he killed the wrong person(in the past). Either way, he's gone now. And I'm OK with that.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I thought Sammy was in witness protection program and even had plastic surgery to change his looks?

He was for a short while(back in the early 90's), but he ended up leaving the Witness Protection Program. Then he got arrested for being involved in a massive drug ring(in Arizona). They gave him 20 years(i think he served around 18), and he was released about 2 years ago. They said he did get some type of plastic surgery(in the 90's) but he still looks the same to me. He has some health issues, so he now just looks older and frailer than he used to. And I'm not 100% sure of this, but i still don't think he's in the WPP.

This is true, and many inmates in high security jails have nothing to lose by having another murder charge attached to them, and everything to gain in terms of notoriety (not to mention the financial reward they'll most likely get for doing it too).
It never ceases to amaze me how cruel humans can be against fellow humans and animals, especially when in the pursuit of money and power.

The F.B.I. used him and then threw him to wolves. Can't say I feel much sympathy for a psychopath. The F.B.I. wanted Bulger dead after it was discovered the Bureau assisted Whitey 16 years on the run. The a rogue F.B.I. agent who helped Bulger stay one step before the law is a lie. As the saying goes, there's no honor among liars and thieves,
