Bets on who wrote the anonymous NYT op-ed

My guess is Mike Pence. And a lot of folks have focused on the word “lodestar” in the op-ed and deduced that Mike Pence was the only one known to love using that word.

My guess would be, that knowing that this is a sinking ship, it would be better to get ahead of this and declare that he grew weary of Trump and worked to save us from him instead of being labeled as merely another Trump lackey that stood by and did nothing as it was clear the orange was batshit crazy.

I mean who could take Pence seriously if he is thought to have enabled Trump while in office instead of helping to vomit him out and show that our democracy is healthy enough to vomit out a pathogen?

I certainly wouldn’t and just label him as a co-conspirator to insanity.

Who’s your guess??
Crooked Donnie. Lock him up!

he would not want to get in that way...but who knows? If he does please let him wait until Jan 22 to do so... so he can serve up to the full 10 years.

We're in September. The NY Times hasn't ruled out publishing more articles from the source at this point. He may think that he can protect his identity until January, and may have planned exactly on when to release the op-ed.

Pence has used the word lodestar several times, lodestar is also mentioned in the op ed.

I think who ever it is thinks they are protecting the Nation, and they probably are.

I analyzed the writing style and I believe Obama wrote the NYT article. I would not doubt if my theory is 110% accurate.

Of course, everything points to Obama for you. Everything sounds like Obama to you. So much hate in one person to think everything is Obama's responsibility when he is no longer president. This all rests on Trump and his actions, words, etc.

It was written by someone that no longer has power but wants the power of being President. He lives just blocks from the White House. It is not too far fetched that it could have been written by a previous President.

You know some days, I think you just write things to get a reaction. Yes, it is far fetched to believe that Obama wrote it. The NY Times have RARELY, maybe only once or twice, allowed an anonymous op-ed. Before they do so, they do it by confirming who the individual is, why it should (or should not) remain anonymous, and whether the story would be important to the public whether they know who the individual is or not. They identified the individual as much as possible, as much as they could and to remain within the ethics of posting something from an anonymous source and have stated that it is a Senior White House Official. Obama is no longer a Senior White House Official. Obama follows the Constitution and KNOWS he can never run for that office again, as there are term limits. Trump is the one that has teased about doing more than two terms. It is NOT Obama. The individual PRAISED the Republican agenda and the so-called accomplishments of that agenda. Obama would not do that.

These were my guesses. I've always thought McGahn was the mole in the Russia investigation. It could be some low profile person on staff too that has a daily bird's eye view on everything. I mean, I never heard of a Papadopoulos until the Feds used him to kick off their investigation.

hmmm that would be interesting.

Question is WHY the OpEd? Why now? If there *is* inpropriety, why not just go to Mueller?

It's a pretty daring thing to do... but it seems consistent with what's been reported journalistically, and from what I understand is also consistent with what's in Bob Woodward's book.

Will Trump fire everyone?!
