I don't know where else to put this but this seems as good a place as any.

Conviceted felon Dinesh D'Souza's new schtick is lableing white nationalists and people like Richard Spencer "leftists, while the nazi march on DC is titled "Unite the Right". I think these individuals are disconnected from reality.

Dinesh D'Souza is absolute garbage.

Wow, the evidence he displays says it all. Duke is an idiot and conman at the same time. What’s pathetic is that people were actually brainwashed by Duke and believe the bs, false white supremacy ideology. If they spent as much time researching any truth to it, they wouldn’t have been so stupid to believe it. This is what happens when one’s lack of confidence, self-esteem feels threatened by the progress, existence or success of those they label/view ‘different’ from them, and somehow believe those individuals have less value to their lives. It’s like those who embrace white supremacy ideology have no faith/belief in their own potential that they have to degrade others to absorb any value in themselves.

I’m actually glad all this talk on white supremacy/supremacists and white privilege is finally being exposed and discussed, nationally, in the media, even at the minimum level of exposure it gets, because it’s always been a topic of taboo that many Americans are afraid to talk about, yet it is one of the main, underlying factors of racism in America.

The only way to eradicate generational, white supremacy ideology is to expose it. The White community, as a whole, will have to educate those within their various communities that generationsl, white supremacy ideology is a lie, and that there is no separate, master white race, because Whites are from the same human race, as all other racial groups, regardless of skin color. The fact is, White supremacy ideology was born within the White community, so they have to be the ringleaders in eradicating it.

Thanks Graycap. The first 3 minutes are really powerful. I would urge everyone to watch them even if they can't watch it all.

Spike tells it how it is - Heather Heyer's death was murder (for those orgers who seem to think it was an accident) and Trump didn't do shit to condemn the ideology behind the murder.

I get infuriated every time I see that clip. With the anniverary of the murder of Heather Hyer in Charlottesville - they have been showing the "both sides" clip over and over on the three Sunday morning news shows (can't speak for Fox, but I doubt it). It's no coincidence Lee is releasing his film this weekend.

Spike scores biggest opening weekend in 10 years.

http://www.showbiz411.com...h-klansman

BlacKkKlansman brings in $10.7M in it's opening weekend, coming in 5th place behind The Meg, Mission Impossible Fallout, Christopher Robin & Slender Man.

Expectations are word of mouth will give it a bump next weekend. It's highly likely we'll see some oscar nominations for this one. cool

I don't go to theater for movies myself, I'm a home video guy. So, I won't be seeing this for a couple months. Who here made it out this weekend? What did you think about the film? How do you rate it amongst Spike's filmography?

A couple weeks is not so bad. Waiting for the home video window, it'll be 2-3 months before I see it. Looking forward to your review.

When you see the movie and see the clips of the murder in Charlottesville and the cunt of a president uttering his "both sides" comment, you will hate him even more. There was actual sobbing in the theater. I wish the entire population would see this movie, not just the people that know how dangerous this administration is. Fuck every single "White Nationalist".

Someone her at work saw it at the director's guild last night with Spike lee and John Singleton in a panel Q&A after. Said it is Spike's masterpiece and the panel, of course, had some choice words for the current administratoin. I hope FI has a screening with a panel - I'll be all over that.

I'm still rocking a 65" Mitsubishi rear projection tv. If we gutted it, you and I could get inside it and play a game of cards. It's connected to a mid-range Sony Blu-Ray & 5.1 Surround Sound. I also have a WesternDigital media player connected for digital files I download and a Toshiba VHS, that I haven't used in years, connected.

Not a state of the art system to show off, but a workhorse that suits me fine. I'll get a flatscreen when the rear projection dies and upgrade to 7.1 Atmos when the sony craps out. I have ZERO desire to upgrade to 4K, Blu-rays are great and DVDs are good enough for most things I watch.

You?

A 46" Sony HDTV , that seemed huge when I got it in 2011 but seems tiny now. It still works great , but if it goes, I'm upgrading to 4K at least 60".

A Pioneer receiver, almost 20 years old, but still sounds great. I have Polk Audio speakers 5.1. The front tower speakers are Monitor 70s, which many will say are the best "bang for your buck"speakers you can get-(around $300-$500 a pair). They sound wonderful. But the best part of my system is an Oppo universal player, which handles any type of disc- Blu-ray, 4K BR, DVD, CD, SA-CD, DVD-Audio. I probably use it more playing music than watching films, and the sound quality is amazing ! And a Roku for streaming.

Very cool! Large physical video collection, or do you prefer streaming?

For myself, the library is even more important than the system and I don't trust licensing agreements to provide me with what I want when I want it. I'll take a room full of discs I've curated for myself and my family over a subscription service any day of the week.

I have a pretty large DVD and Blu-ray collection. And several thousand CDs. I stream stuff, but not really a big fan of it. Recently, me and my family were re-watching "30 Rock " on Netflix, and BAM - it was gone! I think the rights shifted to Hulu, which I don't subscribe to. And I have FilmStruck, which has a great collection of films- Hollywood classics, foreign films, and indies- but is extremely buggy and buffers like every 10 minutes (I went online and found a lot of people who had the same issue). Very frustrating!!!

Good for you! Films like this should be seen in a theater - it is a collective experience. Also, you are supporting filmmakers like Lee who engages his audiences in thought provoking storytelling.

Spike catches a lot of shit for some reason. I guess he should "just shut up" or something but his filmography is quite strong. I don't like all of them but few of them outright suck

I mean...see for yourself.
