LOL! CNN is talking about how Russians were promoting racial division in America. CNN! What I remember about Obama years is everything crashed like I never seen before in my life and thankfully never will. It crashed to ALL TIME LOWS. People had zero confidence in OBAMA at that point and Republicans slowly gained control of the government.

I rest my case.

Unemployment was on a steady decline throughtout Obama's administration. If the stock market is affected by global trends as you say, then what has TRUMP done to impact it ? Please explain.

As for people "high on bathsalts on neighbors rooftops with shotguns", I say speak for yourself....That sounds personal

The market crashed in 2008, as Obama was coming on. Every economist says that Obama inherited a failing market from Bush Jr. and he managed to turn it around. The economy was already in recovery when Trump came into office. He did not inherit the same economy that Obama did. He inherited an economy that was healing and getting better. Trump does deserve some credit for the current economy, but let's not lie and say he deserves all the credit because he inherited an economy that was already in that recovery process. And it was in that recovery process due to Obama.

If we want to talk about Stock Market increases,
"

For instance, Trump’s comparison falters if you look at the Dow’s performance between Inauguration Day and Jan. 5 of a president’s second calendar year in office, rather than Election Day.

Starting with Trump’s inauguration, the Dow has risen from 19,827.3 to 25,075.1 -- an increase of 26 percent. That’s impressive.

But it’s not as impressive as its performance during the equivalent period under Obama. Under Obama, the Dow increased from 7,949.1 to 10,572 — a rise of 33 percent."

And social ills? Under Trump we have children that have been taken away from their parents, children that are being abused in those facilities, and they have LOST some of the parents and some of the children and are having a hard time reuniting those families. We have families that are divided over Trump and have stopped talking and interacting with each other because of Trump. You could say he has a way of tearing families apart. There are more racial incidents happening with ever increasing frequency. We have people threatening the lives of reporters because of Trump's rhetoric. Our first amendment right is under attack by Trump, whether he chooses to see it that way or not. And the list goes on and on.

Yahoo News explains: Obstruction by tweet?
August 3, 2018, 3:13 PM GMT
This week, President Trump unleashed a series of tweets criticizing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. One of Trump’s tweets said in part, “Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now,” which sparked the question of whether the president’s actions are obstructing justice. Is it obstruction by tweet?

^^ Reply to freeda. I can't use reply/quote on this thread anymore. Excruciatingly slow.

parse - Merriam-Webster

1 a : to divide (a sentence) into grammatical parts and identify the parts and their relations to each other

b : to describe (a word) grammatically by stating the part of speech and explaining the inflection (see inflection 3a) and syntactical relationships

2 : to examine in a minute way : analyze critically

From what I've seen re this tweet, legal analysts are saying the word should is problematic. Trump is saying Trump thinks Sessions should end the investigation - not telling him to do it. Won't hold up legally.

The AGR from the last quarter would rank FIFTH relative to Obama's term(s)

Facts are stubborn things, but keep reaching.

...

In any case, a 4.1% annualized growth rate isn’t only not “amazing,” it’s not even particularly remarkable. The Obama administration reached it in four quarters, including one with an annualized rate of 5.1%. Despite that record, the economy never grew at an annual rate of 3% during those eight years. Trump’s second-quarter GDP growth would rank only fifth among Obama’s quarters.

So manafort's accountant just accidentally confessed on the witness stand

"I prepared the tax returns and communicated with banks based on information that Mr. Gates and Mr. Manafort provided to me that I didn't believe," said LaPorta, the first witness at the trial to testify under a grant of immunity.

The admission is the first time a witness has acknowledged knowing involvement in potential wrongdoing during Manafort's trial, where the longtime lobbyist is fighting charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller. LaPorta is one of five people on the Mueller’s witness list for whom the government requested immunity.

LaPorta, who works for Alexandria-based Kositzka Wicks & Company, said she sought the immunity because she was concerned about being prosecuted. Her attorney indicated LaPorta would invoke her Fifth Amendment rights if forced to testify without immunity.

LaPorta said she agreed on 2014 and 2015 tax returns to treat as loans $2.4 million in funds that Manafort's consulting firm received from offshore businesses, even though she had doubts that they really were loans and got little documentation to back up that claim.

The alleged loans were also recorded in the books of Manafort's DMP International firm as coming from the consulting firm's customers, which LaPorta found suspicious.

"I had not seen that before. Yes, it was a concern," LaPorta said.

In another exchange, LaPorta testified that Gates in September 2015 told her Manafort’s income needed to be reduced so he could afford to pay his taxes. To finesse the situation, Gates instructed her to reduce Manafort’s income by not counting one of his loans.

While LaPorta said she followed the instructions, she told Asonye the move was “not appropriate.”

Not Russia related but:

And it begins.

Some dude shot up a radio station in Wisconsin.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/...index.html

Any idea if WORT FM is particularly political? Seems like a music station but it also plays "talk shows". Says it's "community station, listener supported and non-commercial" so I assume they're not running Limbaugh and Hannity. The station is "community supported" and runs shows like Democracy Now, the BBC, "Queery: local and national news affecting Madison's LesBiGayTrans community", and "Her Turn: News by and about women, though all are encouraged to listen" I'm gonna assume they're a bit more progressive than a lot of other "talk" radio stations.

I've been extremely worried that sooner rather than later that the rhetoric against "the media" was going to escalate.

Here's the radio station's FB page. Their website is crashed. Their logo says "resist the status quo" so likely progressive minded.

https://www.facebook.com/WORTFM/

Yeah. So definitely looks like a left leaning "community supported" radio channel. Keep your eye on this story. I think it's only the start.
Police said investigators were still searching for the suspect Sunday afternoon.
