North Korea says peace talks are NOT the result of Trump

http://www.theborneopost....=hootsuite

Seems Kim Jong Un is warning Trump that if he keeps taking credit for these peace talks (which he denies has anything to do with Trump's policies and actions) that it will put them back at "square one". Who didn't see this coming?

It's all part of the diplomatic ping pong game that they're playing...

It could be...or it could be that North and South Korea were making headway, and South Korea decided to give "kudos" to Trump, because they knew that by doing so, they could slow Trump down, shut him up, long enough for them to start building a stronger foundation towards peace.

It's tricky because Trump did start things moving by running his mouth. Guessing since the US authority figure is blatantly certifiable, they decided to talk amongst themselves if at all possible. Trump has tweet threatened blowing the entire area up to reach his solution. That includes South Korea too. I doubt if Trump has even looked at a map of the world yet.

Just days before North Korea announced it will shut down one of its major nuclear-test sites last month CIA director Pompeo had talks with Kim Jong-Un. Today North Korea just freed 3 American Prisoners. Washington deserves major credit for North Korea's peace talks. I don't support Trump, can't stand the way he speaks 99% of the time but when it comes to Pyoungyang it seems he was the only leader who made Kim Regime come to the negotiation table compared to say, Mr. Obama who kept insisting the tired "strategic patience" on N. Korea for 8 years.

South Korean President Moon has also been a joke when it comes to dealing with the Regime. When the UN was pushing for harsher sanctions against the North, the South was still going too easy on it. The Olympics and the dialogues alone would've never made N. Korea consider peace talks, giving up its major Nuclear test site, etc. Now that global sanctions against the North are tighter than ever (again, thanks to Washington's active role in this including push on China), Kim really is running out of options.
But NEVER trust the regime. Even if the talks between Trump and Kim go smooth next month Kim could always turn back to his old ways anytime. Idk the whole thing with N. Korea is just so bizarre, the handshake between the two leaders of the North and the South was unsettling to witness, rather than emotional.

I don't understand why is it unsettling to have North and South Korea shaking hands. The main reason the US is there now is for military presence in that part of the world. It's not like we really care about their humanitarian abuses. Or China's, for that matter. I don't think China is going to stop doing business with North Korea no matter what the US says/thinks. They have been observed sending supplies to them recently when they said they were not. We really have never had any real business in Northeast Asia.

^ If you looked at a map, you'd see that Korea is in Northeast Asia. wink But other than that, you're right. China has good contact with NK and sanctions are being avoided all the time.

The big breakthrough has been the election of a left wing governmnent in South Korea. The blueprint they are following was drawn up by Russia and China.

They have to be as nice as possible to Trump in order to make it harder for America to sabotage the peace process. They won't even mind falsely giving him credit if necessary.

Make no mistake about it the foreign policy establishment in Washington are fuming right now. The shares of many of these weapons manufacturers took a nosedive when these peace talks were announced.
