Another mass school shooting in Florida.

** MODERATORS NOTE **

Please stick to discussing the tragic Florida School shooting.
Please stay away from attacking each other.
If you cannot address the topic without getting personal please do not post

Nothing much to say. Still updating. 16 dead so far, which is horrible, on Ash Wednesday. omg.

Former student, 18, showed other kids his gun collection. He was a so called troubled kid which means nothing. Obviously if you kill a bunch of people you are messed up. Just awful. Our society is falling apart I'm afraid and we should not debate guns, we have to stop gun culture now.

The shooter was caught alive. Bastard. He may be Cuban.

Hate to be political but this stuff is happening more under this fiend President.

No respect for the USA, the President or God. People will ask "where was God?" Not in public schools.

Don't politicize this, either of you.

Unless he had six arms and a machete in each, I don't think he'd have been able to kill 17 people

This is a fucked up country

When I was a Jr or Sr some former student came to the school with a shot gun. I hated being forced to hide in a classroom. It was resolved when a current student told him to put the gun down...when he did a teacher took the gun. but it was the Teacher who was honored!?

Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

Rob a bus get in a high speed and roll it. Many ways like that especially with fire where killers can cause mass death without guns. Look at what happened on 9-11.

Those type of attacks are extremely rare compared to shootings

14 school shootings already this year. And it's just mid February

Yes, people always find other things to kill other people, it's not that people who are against guns don't get that, Einstein. BUT, you can't have mass shootings without guns, right? Take australia as an example. They had ONE big mass shooting, they took the guns away and they still got only one big mass shooting on the counter.

Look at statistics, people with guns tend more to murder oder suicide, because they got the option. But how many people would choose this way if they only had knifes? Think about it, there cops with guns and you just got the knife, how big are your chances now?

Y'all gun fanatics always try to find another way to justify this shit. You come up with the dumbest "what if" scenarios. I'd laugh about it if it wasn't so damn sad.

You wanna hear the truth why they won't take the guns away? Because of the money. It's crazy that people buy even more guns after another mass shooting, like, how mindfucked do you have to be? This is the problem.

Right now, america has three big problems: 1. GUNS 2. Opiate Crisis 3. A president who doesn't give a shit about the first 2.

I'll give you a 4th, for free: Bad education.

I don't think it will stop any time soon. I mean, not even Sandy Hook could stop this shit. This is so messed up.

Here's an interesting article, maybe if everybody knew what bullets really do to the body this madness would end:

CNN just said that you have to be 21 years old to buy a hand gun, but an 18 year old it's legal to buy an AR15. Maybe the laws should be changed that you have to be 21 to buy any gun.

Here's where I take issue. I remember Pat Robinson(?) on tv talking about why Haiti had that devastating earthquake, because of things being allowed to happen to children there. I've heard many times the folks on tv saying things about "sacraficing" children being the most vile thing in the sight of God. And here we sit allowing children to be "sacraficed" when we have power to change it all in the name of our (Godgiven) rights. I'm not sure how people who let such things fly out their mouth reconcile this, these are the same people who stand arm in arm with the NRA.

I meant that they didn't stop this crazyness with guns when children got killed. If that won't change minds, nothing will.

I understood what you meant. And I really shouldn't have quoted your post to say what I said. But I agree if Sandy Hook didn't light a fire under folk asses to take action nothing will.

Wow. I was expecting the 'Blame Trump'-reflex, but not so soon.

Got figures? Or is it your gut-feeling? Or was it a Freudian slip-of-the-pen?

But I do agree with your statement that it's mainly due to your country's ridiculous gun culture.
A ban on guns won't help. It's a cultural thing.

Hm, they locked down an elementary school here today because a gunman showed up on campus. No one was shot and he got away. Then they interviewed a man who was shot in a school shooting here 16 years ago. It just an acceptable evil now. Lots of finger pointing , shoulder shrugging and then back to seeing what the Kardashians are doing.

I'm assuming he means that if there was religion in public schools (as well as respect for Trump...God forbid), there would be no craziness and therefore no school shootings....

But this is just my guess...It all sounds pretty unhinged to me

The facts I can find only go to June 2016.

What you see there is a significant increase in shooter incidents during Obama's presidency lol lol lol

See for yourself: HERE

Under George W Bush's presidency: 66 incidents - Avg= 8.25 incidents/yr
Under Obama's presidency: 146 (data only goes up to june 2016) - Avg = 19,5 incidents/yr

Facts... gotta love 'em cool

Trump is an absolute roaster, but this kind of thing happens under all presidents. The USA has far too many guns, and far too many idiots, and it's absolutely awful at keeping them apart.

I would have been terrified to kill anyone, Minus someone attacking USA. What happened? YES! I believe the school is failing people. "Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies song is more relevant than ever. Every parent should pull their child out of school and homeschool.
