1) My name is Victor or I will call yo Betty and Betty when you call me you can call me Al!

2) then frankly i do not need your opinion and I will not give mine on your nations election system....

3) you lost me here? but then see 2)

.

1) But we know you as OnlyNDaUsa, ie by your Nation and:

- Not by Victor,

- Certainly not by your State or,

- Given how little allegance you actually have for your State, not by the other State you chose to defend instead.

.

My point is you name yourself after your Nation, not your State and you served for another State, so it hard to believe you when you say your allegiance is more for your State than your Nation. As such a national poll is more fair and more in line with your demonstrated positions on Nation vs State.

.

2) I invite you to critique my Nation's polls anytime. I don't think they are perfect, just better than your's.

.

3) You say you favour people over the government, but short of when you perceive a need for armed revolution against government, you put government before people.

LOL yeah, you got me there... I was looking for a name and kept getting errors and the time something happened and I used that... whatever ... good one but thow.

I did not think about a state-related name... if i could change names I might!

but you and others seem to just not get me... I am a patriot and I did serve in the US ARMY, I did so for several reasons one being I love my country. I also love my state... and I would kill and DIE if need be to defend them. But I would do the same to defend my TV....

And I am not sure if my allegiance is more to the state or the country. I hope I never have to choose. (yeah I said I was but I have not given it that much thought... but part of being an adult is being able to adjust your stance as well as accepting when someone else does... but for now I will say: if it came to it and the State wanted to leave the US or did or whatever... I would likely stay and I would be willing (not that I can offer much) support it and defend it. But that scenario is very unlikely.

2) I have zero interest I am sure your nation is lovely

3) that is not quite what I said... the government is the people and even under garbage like brack i never saw him as being successful enough with his tyrannical wishes to justify any actions. As I said: if things got to a point I would have to make a choice. Assuming my state still held is current basic core values and assuming the FED had divulged greatly from its current values then YES I would be very likely to stay... if it was the other way around I would NOT.

But what I am not seeing in any of this is you having any real preference for State over Nation (except in sporting teams), so no reason that future Presidental votes should to not be based on a National poll with an equal vote per person - other than this is not the current system and the current system favours your side of politics over the other whilst limiting the choice to being between only those from the two major parties.

.

It is important because one day Australia will have a President - most likely a non-executuve one to replace our Governor General power for power (the Monarch of Australia, currently Queen Elizabeth, has no power under our Constitution except that she can appoint and dismiss the Governor General as advised by the Prime Minister (effectively) - All the limited powers of the Monarch in our Constitution rest with the Governor General). If this is replaced by a non-executive President acting in that person's own right, then if they are not just selected by the Ministers in the Government the same way the Governor General is selected, the likely poll would be a vote between 3 candidates selected by a 60% vote by Parliament in first past the post poll. if we were silly enough to go for an executive President (France or USA style), then I would suggest a preferential poll - if a person gets 50% of the primary vote, they are elected - if not, preferences are allocated to select the top two and these two go to the second poll - ie a modified French system, not the US undemocratic, corrupt and seriously expensive mess.
